Dying Light Trailer Shows Off Freerunning But No Gameplay

Techland and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment have put together the first ever trailer for the parkour-in-a-world-full-of-zombies game, Dying Light. Players enter a city devastated by a deadly outbreak (read: zombie virus) that has turned into a battleground.

The trailer offers a glimpse of what it takes to stay alive as survivors race to a cache of supplies before nightfall.

Dying Light borrows many elements from the likes of Mirror’s Edge with the added elements of survival horror and zombies.

The game is slated for release in early 2014 on both current- and next-gen platforms, including the PC.

Hmm looks like there’s going to be some kind of weapon modification system like in Dead Island based on that one guys electro wrench and what looked like a chainsword at one point.

That said, why doesn’t anyone ever consider using different monsters for the apocalypse? Why does it always have to be freaking zombies? How about some nice lovecraftian abominations for a change, or maybe a plague of werewolves or something. I’m tired of zombies. I figure that buy now I must have killed zombies in every way imaginable in video games.
