Dysis: Minecraft as an RTS/FPS Hybrid, Hits Kickstarter

Don’t let the Minecraft-like visuals fool you — Dysis is an RTS, FPS hybrid with procedurally generated terrain, robots, and more robots. Players can delegate commands to their robot armies or choose to pilot any of their robots in the first person and get some hands-on robot-on-robot fighting action. Robot.

Developer Chris Farrell — who builds robots in real-life — was asking for $5,000 on Kickstarter to bring Dysis to artificial life, and he’s already $7,000 over that goal, with 23 days to go.

As stretch goals, Farrell has added space station battles at $10,000, “ancient alien underground structures” at $15,000, and the ability to travel to asteroids and other planets at $20,000 and $50,000, respectively.
