Yes, the Wii Speak was announced, but its a community mic, not a headset and is meant for a more global community conversation. They didn’t indicate anything in the press conference about the use in older titles or forward titles but it is Nintendo’s strategy to introduce hardware and then build software to utilize it.. to pack it with a key title and then see where it goes.. so maybe things will change.. I hope so anyway.

they did announce something about it. it was a peripheral that comes with the new animal crossing. seems like it would only work with that game though at the time it is released.

Was there not also mention of some sort of voice chat??? I have heard rumors that Nintendo was going to reveal voice chatting in games online. Maybe just a rumor eh?
