Gears of War: Judgement E3 Multiplayer Gameplay and Dev Chitchat

During E3 this week, more details emerged about the new Gears of War game. It’s called Judgement, it’s set to release next year, and it’s an attempt to mix up the ol’ Gears formula. The story takes place just after E-Day and 14 years prior to Gears of War 1, featuring Baird and Cole as the main protagonists. But other than a quick trailer, none of the plot-related gameplay was shown. Instead, we got to see what’s in store for us on the multiplayer front.

The demo shown emphasizes how a new multiplayer mode called Overrun will differ from what we’ve seen from the franchise format so far. It features a “class-based system,” with tons of new equipment and abilities. Because of these elements, there appears to be a new depth and zaniness to the multiplayer (or at least a slight departure from GoW3). Imagine if Horde Mode and Versus Mode got together and made a baby – that’s Overrun. See for yourself:
