Watch Dogs Coming in 2013 – Not a Next-Gen Game

There was speculation by some that Watch Dogs, the incredible-looking, newly-announced IP from Ubisoft, is in development for the next console cycle. According to the game‘s official twitter account, that’s not true. “The game will be released in 2013 and will be on released on PC and consoles,” tweeted @Watchdogsgame. Unless by “consoles” they mean the next generation will arrive unexpectedly in 2013 (it won’t), that means you’ll be playing this freshness on old hardware.

The speculation was in large part due to how visually stunning the E3 demo appeared, clearly utilizing some graphical powerhouse beyond the capabilities of an Xbox 360 or PS3. Turns out, it was just running on a very high-end PC, which as any PC gamer knows, can put the best of what consoles have to offer to utter shame, even today.

So 2013 it is. But if you want the game to look as spiffy as it did at the Ubisoft press conference, you’ll probably need to pick it up for PC.

Will, No offence but I am sooooooo sick of people using that BS excuse. I bought my daught a computer off craigs list for $200 with a 22″ monitor, and it plays every game I own including Deus Ex, and Mass Effect3 at high resolutions. Quit your whining.
Anybody can own a decent computer if they really want. Instead people are too f’n lazy to look, and buy a console because of it. I’m not saying everyones like that, cause some people just like consoles better. So be it, great, got no problem with that
Just sick of hearing people whine about the cost issue. TOTAL BS excuse just shot down.
