The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings developer CD Projekt RED has been at the forefront of the growing debate in the PC gaming world about digital rights management. Last year with the release of The Witcher 2, the developer abandoned DRM on the game altogether, and the results have been both positive and fascinating.
Sitting down with Game Front video host Wil Wheaton at E3 2012, CD Projekt CEO Marcin Iwinski and Managing Director Adam Badowski talk about their experiences with DRM and their decision to cut it from The Witcher 2, as well as their next big RPG project, Cyberpunk.
Be sure to check back tomorrow for Part 5 of Wil’s interview series, in which he speaks with Double Fine Entertainment’s Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert about The Cave, DRM, games as art and more. And be sure to check out Wil’s other interviews, with Skyrim Director Todd Howard, Robotoki’s Robert Bowling and Far Cry 3 Lead Writer Jeffrey Yohalem.
