EA Announces Third-Person Harry Potter Title

Good movie tie-in games are rare. For every Escape from Butcher Bay, there are an awful lot of games that just don’t measure up. Unfortunately, the games accompanying the Harry Potter series of movies and books haven’t been exactly top-notch. This may change in the near future.

EA is changing the formula a bit for the games tying into the next (and final) Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. According to Eurogamer, the Deathly Hallows game will be utilizing a third-person shooter approach in a brand new engine developed by EA’s Bright Light Studio.

This concept sounds a little strange, but fans of the series know that the last book is the most action oriented of the lot, and that means that this Harry Potter installment might be a little different than you might expect.

So, if you’re looking for a different take on taking on Voldemort, you might want to stay tuned to see what comes next for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. You could also just look at a couple of screenshots after the break.
