EA Confirms Battlefield 3 Novel

That Amazon listing about a Battlefield 3 book turned out to not be erroneous, because EA has officially announced a novel based on the game called Battlefield 3: The Russion, by Andy McNab, the former SAS dude who worked as a consultant on the game. The book will tell the backstory of a Russian operative named Dim who is one of Battlefield 3′s playable characters.

The novel will be released on the same day as the game, which is to say it will be released on October 25, and will be published by Orion in Europe and Grand Central in North America.

“It is impossible for any single medium to fully capture the emotion and intensity of war. The Battlefield 3: The Russian novel is one window into the experience, and the game is another. They complement each other perfectly.” – Andy McNab

I wonder if the novel will include a character who stabs a guy, only to have nothing happen.

**a jab at the fact the knife doesn’t always work, cause you know, it doesn’t.
