EA Puts Twist on Trivial Pursuit

EA is bringing the consummate party game Trivial Pursuit to more digital age venues than ever before. Gamers will be able to play this challenging trivia game online through Pogo.com as well as on the Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, the Wii and mobile platforms.

Trivial Pursuit Daily 20 is already up and running on Pogo.com. The game challenges players to answer enough questions by the end of the week to earn all the wedges they need to complete the pie. It’s is free and will feature new questions each day. Players are awarded points for the right answers, but you’ll earn more the faster you give them. That way those gamers who know their stuff will score higher than all those who need to cheat and look up answers. Visit www.pogo.com/games/trivial to get in the game.

The console version of Trivial Pursuit will allow gamers to challenge their friends to a battle of wits or to challenge their best score in single-player mode. To liven things up bet on your brain power and choose High Stakes mode. Trivial Pursuit will be coming out in Spring of 2009.

The Trivial Pursuit for mobiles brings the “party in a box” to your phone. There are two flavors of gameplay here as well. Choose the classic version of the game or make it a race playing pursuit mode. EA mobile promises the game will be available in Asia, Europe and North America this winter.

There are so many versions of this game, EA won’t have to start dreaming up original DLC for a while. I’ve got a closet full of them myself. I expect this is going to be very popular in online multiplayer. I just dread the webcam crowd.
