EA Releases Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Stats, Runs a Contest Through Weekend
Despite a fairly lukewarm critical reception to the multiplayer aspect of Mass Effect 3, players are apparently very much digging a team-based Cerberus-blasting Reaper-smashing experience, according to stats released by Electronic Arts and BioWare.
After just 10 days of availability, players have racked some 1,800 years’ worth of time in the game. They’ve already earned 83 billion credits in multiplayer to spend on guns (most of which they get to keep), and have killed around 2 million of those bastard Cerberus Phantom assassins. EA is running its first big Mass Effect 3 multiplayer event this weekend, giving players the chance to take on enemy forces to win special in-game prizes. Anybody who takes down the Reaper enemy group on the Silver difficulty or harder by 5 a.m. PDT Monday will snag the Commendation Pack of in-game items, weapons and characters. If the community as a whole beats 1 million Reaper Brutes, everyone will get the Victory Pack, as well.
Here are few extra tidbits found in the press release about redeeming the prizes: “You must redeem (open) your packs in the multiplayer store menu within 7-days of receiving. If you do not redeem these packs within the allotted 7-days, the packs will expire and cannot be restored. To participate, all players must enable the data tracking option in the game (options online upload gameplay feedback make sure it’s “ON”). If this is set to “OFF” your completion and/or contribution to the challenges will not be tracked and you will not receive any unlocks.”
