EA, Sony and Nintendo Are Sort Of Still SOPA Supporters
Although Sony, Nintendo and EA removed themselves from the House Judiciary Committee’s list of groups supporting the Stop Online Piracy Act, they technically still support the bill.
That’s because they are still members of the Electronic Software Association, which is very pro-SOPA. Since the ESA represents the interests of its members, you could still sort of say that EA, Nintendo and Sony are cool with SOPA.
I’m just saying maybe you shouldn’t fall all over yourself to pat them on the back for not being on the supporters list anymore. If they had a major beef with the bill, they could always leave the ESA to make that point. But they aren’t going to do that. And you could theoretically say that Sony got off the list because they wanted to avoid the wrath of Anonymous. So whatever.
