EA Sports Opening Texas Studio
EA Sports announced today that they’ll be opening a new studio in Austin, TX, and they swear that doing so won’t result in a bunch of layoffs at their other studios. They’re moving into Texas to take advantage of that state’s incentive programs, and governor Rick Perry was actually present at the announcement, because that’s how big a deal EA is, damn it.
The new studio won’t be a dainty one, what with it creating 300 jobs, half of which will be contract workers. No word on what they’ll be working on there, though.
EA really likes Austin, as this will bring the number of employees they have there to 750, which is a lot of employees.
