EA: We Totally Aren’t Making Stuff With a Next-Gen Xbox Dev Kit

So there’s a rumor going around that Electronic Arts is working with development kits from Microsoft for a console to succeed the Xbox 360, but EA is categorically denying the claim.

IndustryGamers talked with EA spokesman Jeff Brown about the situation. “This story is a total fabrication — 100 percent not true,” he said.

Earlier today, Develop had a story claiming EA had the next-gen console dev kit in-hand. It cited information from a “senior, high-ranking, well-placed” source over at EA that claimed the new console dev kits were hidden inside PC shells.

Meanwhile, Eurogamer has another source saying that any such Xbox successor won’t be revealed at E3, should it exist. So there — rumors squashed. That’s how the Internet works, right?
