Each 3G PS Vita Costs $159.10 to Make

A group called UBM TechInsights got their hands on a 3G-enabled PS Vita and took it apart, coming to the conclusion that the parts cost Sony $159.10. The 3G model will retail for $300, so that’s a pretty good markup with all the other costs involved, like marketing and production and shipping.

According to the company, here are all the pieces inside, for those tech folks who might be curious:

Now whatever happened to that once upon a time when game systems were sold at a loss because the producers felt they could make the money back in licensing fees…
