EA’s Play4Free Becomes Origin Free to Play

EA has announced that its free-to-play Play4Free brand will be rolled into its Origin service under the name “Origin Free to Play.”

All Play4Free titles, which include Battlefield Heroes and Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances, will make the move to Origin Free to Play, and the only difference players will experience is the URL, which changes from Play4Free.com to Origin.com/free. Play4Free.com will automatically redirect users to the new URL.

Play4Free vice president Sean Decker explained that this move was made for “Convenience for players.” He said, “Origin now becomes your single destination for paid downloadable PC games and free-to-play games alike.”

Well, no. But nice try. You can’t just declare a monopoly.
