Elder Scrolls Online Fan Marketplace Earns Zenimax Online Endorsement

Zenimax Online has offered its endorsement to a fan-made Elder Scrolls Online marketplace.

The marketplace in question was created at TESO Elite Forums, a website dedicated to The Elder Scrolls Online community. In the Marketplace section of its forums, interested players can browse threads devoted to the sale of in-game goods including weapons, armor, materials, consumables and other items and services. Zenimax Online, being made aware of the marketplace, recently urged users to visit the site in a Tweet.

“Looking to buy, sell, and trade in-game goods and services in #ESO?” asked the Tweet. “Then @TesoElite’s marketplace is for you.”

The company’s Tweet is significant in no small part because it intentionally avoided integrating similar features into the game for fear that they might lessen the value of its rarer pieces of gear. We’re reaching out to Zenimax Online to see if we can obtain a comment as to why they opted to endorse a fan-made alternative that pretty much does just that.

Letting free a market that should be restricted withing the game is kind of lame.

Soooo glad I didn’t waste money on this insult to TESO fans.
