Elder Scrolls Online First Content Patch Coming This Week
The first major content patch for Elder Scrolls Online will go live either tomorrow or Friday of this week.
The content patch named “Craglorn” will contain the first adventure zone for level 50 players including new 12-man trials.
In an interview with the creative director of Elder Scrolls Online, Paul Sage, IGN learned that Zenimax hopes to release fresh content every four to six weeks. So far, with the arrival of Craglorn arriving at the end of the sixth week, things are on track for that schedule.
“I think we’re still at the tail-end of six weeks, I could be wrong there, it’s all a blur! But we’re either in the sixth week or the seventh with this update and I believe our next update is fairly on schedule,” he said. “When we released we talked about our plans rather than ‘this is exactly what it’s going to be’ – we’re generally pretty careful about the language.
“I think any plan like that can be disrupted if something unforeseen happens. But right now we have the second update lined up and ready to go onto the PTS [Public Test Server] once we launch Craglorn, and that’s coming soon,” Sage stated. “That’ll be the Veteran Dungeon, Crypt of Hearts.”
Zenimax gave themselves quite a bit of a challenge to hit their six week deadline for new content. I’m sure they’ll have no trouble right now, but what about six months from now? Or a year? Their biggest challenge then will be creating original and non repetitive content. Though, with Elder Scrolls lore, they should have plenty to work with for a while.
