Entire StarCraft 2 eSports Pro-Team Saved, Acquired by Quantic
In a separate interview, we spoke to player Chris “Illusion” Lee, who began his professional SC2 career when he joined Team Vile in June of 2011 and aspires to make a long-term career out of pro-gaming.
Game Front: How big of a change will it be to transition from Vile to Quantic?
Lee: I think most things will stay the same. The Quantic players are just as friendly as Vile’s. I think the only change will be in management; it’ll be much more organized, and we’ll be able to play our best because the management will help us towards that. In the past, our management wasn’t as coordinated, so we had to do things ourselves. It was really sloppy and messy, and we couldn’t put complete focus on our play.
GF: Are you more comfortable with the move because you have so many fellow Vile players coming with you?
Lee: Yeah, I’m pretty comfortable with that, because it’s like bringing my family with me. Other teams have spoken to me, but they weren’t as accommodating as Quantic. The fact that Quantic would go out of their way to make everything comfortable for me really showed that they do care.
GF: In what ways have the Quantic folks made you comfortable?
Lee: For one thing, they’re not forcing me to stay in a team house. They’re really accommodating at LANs; they bring out food and drink and show concern for my well-being. They want to make sure everything is good in my real life so that it doesn’t affect my play. They wanted to talk to my parents as well so that we’re all on the same page with my family. And they’re just, overall, really nice guys.
