Epic Games to Show Off Unreal Engine 4 at Game Developers Conference

Epic planning to preview the next-generation version of its Unreal Engine technology, Unreal Engine 4, at Game Developers Conference 2012.

The preview isn’t available to the public, however; it’s reserved for licensees (read: game developers), press and a few other lucky individuals. Epic hasn’t released more information than that, but given how ubiquitous the Unreal Engine 3 has become, the company’s next game engine offering is sure to make a big splash in the industry.

We’re keeping an eye out for any information we can get on the Unreal Engine 4; last we heard about it, Tim Sweeney was saying the new engine wouldn’t start showing up in new games until 2014. That’s still a long way off, but who knows how things are progressing over at Epic.
