Epic Showcases NVIDIA’s Next-Gen Kepler GPU (*Drool*)

Last year, Epic unveiled a demo of what the future has in store for us graphically with a video called Samaritan, which presented cinematic-style graphics rendered live. The catch? It took three GeForce GTX 580s to run the demo in real-time.

This year at GDC 2012, Epic showed its Samaritan demo once again — but this time, it was running on a single next generation “Kepler” NVIDIA graphics card.

Suddenly, the future doesn’t seem so far away.

If you don’t remember the Samaritan demo, first, shame on you, and second, you can watch it here:

I have two questions:

How much, and gimme.

I’m really surprised you posted this.

Its not said anywhere what settings were being used on the 580s vs a kepler and therefore is speculation and assumption that its 3x as powerful.

a single card… most likely a dual GPU card, with an insane price tag to match.

The question is, who will be running first on ‘kepler’? Onlive, Gaikai, Gface, or Gcluster?
