Escape From L.A.: Wasteland 2′s Other Major Area

The Rangers are headed to La-La Land.

In the latest update for Wasteland 2, developer inXile reveals that the full game will take an average player roughly 50 hours to complete and take true explorers “quite a bit longer.” The devs also veered into spoiler territory by revealing a significant chunk of that play time will be spent outside of Arizona and in the city of Los Angeles.

“In the near future, we will have almost all of Arizona in the hands of our beta backers (after this upcoming update the beta will include all but one major area and the final small maps), we can’t resist the temptation to talk more about the second half of the game…the Los Angeles area,” inXile states. “I specifically say ‘Los Angeles area’ as it includes some locations that are in the Los Angeles metro area, rather than just ‘the city proper.’”

The huge region will feature a number of real-world LA landmarks, various factions, and it will be surprisingly lush, inXile states. Post apocalyptic climate change is evidently good for the arid City of Angels. Lots more details in the update if you don’t mind the spoilers.

Great news for Wasteland 2 backers. This Kickstarted project easily could have turned out to be a much smaller game. It’s clear inXile will deliver on its promise and then some.
