eSports: Red Bull Battle Grounds NA Online Qualifier Opens

Red Bull continues to expand its presence in the world of eSports. Back in July, pro StarCraft 2 player Ryan “State” Visbeck — Game Front’s very own — played in the Red Bull Training Grounds tournament. Now, Red Bull is hosting another tournament: Red Bull Battle Grounds.

Eight of the top StarCraft 2 players in the world battle it out for $50,000 in prize money at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan on November 23-24. Four players have already been selected, and the remaining four will be picked among North American players in a qualifier round. Registration for the qualifier has begun — if you think you have the gosu micro and macro to dance with the pros, then go ahead and sign up.

The four players already selected are Choi “Bomber” Ji Sung (Terran), Jens “Snute” Aasgaard (Zerg), Jo “Golden” Myeong Hwan (Zerg), and Jang “MC” Min Chul (Protoss). Check out the teaser video:

Red Bull also released a new episode of its “This is eSports” series two days ago. This episode features Ben “Mr Bitter” Nichols and Prulo “Catz” UIizcarra providing analysis of key matches as Walshy speaks to players and meets fans. Check it out:

Impossible to take anyone seriously who constantly troll-posts under the name ‘Aids’. Just as the person who uses the name ‘lol’ will never be treated with anything other than pity.
