Fallout: New Vegas Mods You May Have Missed

5. Bounties

There are lots of mods that add extra content to New Vegas, but Bounties keeps it simple. Those who install it will be tasked with hunting a variety of foul-mouthed, “boss-level” adversaries throughout the wasteland. Kill ‘em dead — that’s the mission. These heavily armed fiends, chemheads and criminals also come with an additional 436 lines of dialogue.

4. Civil Defense Radio

Fallout’s embrace of nuclear paranoia and retro-futuristic cultural touches has always been one of its most endearing aspects. Civil Defense Radio doubles down on this throwback flair, adding 55 tracks of authentic music and 22 minutes of awesome, totally real PSA messages from CONELRAD, a mid-century government agency tasked with providing emergency broadcasting in times of atomic crisis.

3. Driveable Motorcycles

There’s a lot of wasteland to traverse in Fallout: New Vegas. Going on foot takes too long, and fast travelling ruins the fun. Enter this driveable motorcycles mod, which provides players with a variety of souped-up, two-wheeled steeds. Strap on some Gatling lasers and show the residents of the Mojave who the king of the road really is.

2. Nevada Skies

As you can tell from the screenshot, Nevada Skies adds a variety of dynamic, picturesque weather effects to the world of the Mojave. Expect rainstorms, sandstorms, darker nights, and even snow, where appropriate. The attention to detail is impressive — bad weather will negatively affect enemy line of sight!

1. Project Director Mod

When it comes to mods, you can’t really do better than a mod made by the game’s official Project Director. J.E. Sawyer was part of the team on New Vegas and its Honest Hearts DLC, but he spent extra hours working on a mod for his personal playthroughs. Available through Sawyer’s Formspring account, the mod is an embrace of the “hardcore” playstyle, which requires characters to eat, sleep, and drink in a realistic manner to survive. By tweaking stimpack mechanics and other features, Sawyer created a gameworld that was exactly as hardcore as his well-informed standards demanded.

Thanks for the refresher!

Great list. Quick question though, for the image with mod no.5; Bounties, where are the mods for that backpack? And for her smoking? Thanks!
