Fallout: New Vegas Project Director Releases His Own Mod

The Fallout series has long been a home for modders. Both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas have robust modding communities made up of users, but now there’s a New Vegas mod that comes from the project director of the development team.

J.E. Sawyer, Obsidian Entertainment’s project director for New Vegas, mentioned some time ago that he was working on a mod for his own personal playthroughs. Over the weekend, he quietly made it available by posting the link on his Formspring page.

According to a post on No Mutants Allowed, Sawyer’s mod requires all the New Vegas DLC to function. It makes a number of changes to the game, with most of them directed at making the game more difficult. Players will have half XP rates, lowered health, fewer NPC water and food drops, increased weight restraints, and less options to heal. Karma and Alignment gains are also adjusted, as are the stats for a number of the game’s armor and weapons.

If you’re looking for a more challenging wasteland experience, Sawyer’s mod could be right up your alley. After all, even Stimpaks have weight once you install it.
