Fallout: New Vegas is developed by Obsidian entertainment, many of whose founding members worked for Black Isle Studios, the design house responsible for Fallout and Fallout 2, two of the most vertiginous highs in gaming history. Fans of retro-futuristic, post-apocalyptic action-RPG’s are waiting with baited breath to see what Obsidian can deliver.

There are some obvious changes already made plain, like the inclusion of various gambling mini-games, item-specific VATS animations, and increased weapon-customization and item-creation utilities. One imagines that Chris Avellone and co. have many surprises left in store. If the events of New Reno in Fallout 2 are any indication, Fallout: New Vegas is going to be a hell of a ride.

Check out our full walkthrough for the game, which will cover the main quest line, as well as all the major side missions. NOTE: Fallout: New Vegas is a game with a lot of branching choices, and at first, the walkthrough will represent two potential main quest paths (Mr. House and Caesar’s Legion).

We’ve also got lists of achievements and trophies, as well as a Cheats page that acts as an information center for everything Fallout: New Vegas-related.

I had a similar problem with getting attacked at caeser’s camp, what you got to do is if boone is your companion use the talk option and tell him to part ways then the legion won’t trip out on you anymore

On October 23, 2010 at 1:24 pm

Gmots, you have to talk to finish the quest, talk to keeley (she is in the cave at the very bottom) and then she will instruct you on how to rid the vault of spores. After you do that she will let you out.

Michael

On October 23, 2010 at 2:59 pm

@JOHN. If you follow your quest tracker, it leads you to a empty balcony overlooking a section of the power plant with big turbines. Look to your right as you enter the balcony, and on the wall you’ll see a electrical box. Click it, and you’ll finish the quest.

Michael

On October 23, 2010 at 3:01 pm

If you want, I’ve finished the gamea few times with almost every quest beat. You guys can email me at michael.l.pollock@hotmail.com with questions, tips you’ve found out, easter eggs you’ve discovered, or just about anything else about this game you need help on.

Michael

On October 23, 2010 at 3:04 pm

@ gmots. Quick way to get out of any location, go to your quest section on the Pip-Boy 3000, and pick another quest. Then follow the quest tracker on the map and it’ll lead you out.

I screwed up on the brotherhood of steel mission, i talked to the ranger outside and he took off my collar now the brotherhood attack me and i cant get into the bunker

Michael

On October 24, 2010 at 3:08 pm

@ Hunter. In Calden’s hotel room, behind a wardrobe on the wall is a safe. Lockpick it (with a small karma loss) and inside will be evidence against him saying he raped and killed some girls. Use it to get him to leave the casino forever. Talk to Troike, and get him to either leave, or blow the weapon stash with his explosives.

Michael

On October 24, 2010 at 3:14 pm

@ Alison. Blackrock Mountain is near Hidden Valley. If you recruit Veronica into your party at 188 Trading Post, the map marker for Hidden Valley shows up. Go to Hidden Valley, and look towards the north, north-east for a BIG SATELLITE ANTENNA. That’s the transmitting station for Blackrock Mountain. Be careful though, as there are Super Mutants patrolling the area, and a crazy Super Mutant in a wig in the main station. the key for her upstairs room is behind a staircase outside, and she has the key on her for a catch of supplies in another building. Raul is in one of the lesser buildings, locked behind a door.

Michael

On October 24, 2010 at 3:17 pm

@ taylor. Update your game, either by downloading the 360, PS3, or any patches the PC version have out. You can find the PC updates and patches at http://www.bethsoft.com. The console’s auto update as soon as you load the game. If your still having problems, try lowering the graphics settings on your game to the bare minimum. Keep in mind, that everyone across the board is having bug problems with this game, and it might take a bit for Bethesda to fix them. emailing them any problems about bugs you are having at their website will help them with this process though.

Michael

On October 24, 2010 at 3:22 pm

@ Joe S. All I can say, is that even though the game has some new auto save features, and those are REALLY COOL, take advantage of the normal save feature by SAVING VERY OFTEN. In fact, I save just about before every city I get to, every time I interact with a NPC, and before every encounter I KNOW I’m going to have. The best way to remedy a situation like this, is SAVE OFTEN. And don’t hesitate to use multiple save spaces for one game. You can always go back and delete saves you don’t need.

Pacer is frozen at the sliver rush and I can’t talk to him or pickpocket him and I need to talk to the king to get the last achievement to get all companions and I don’t wanna kill him or restart the game a fourth time I had everything just right so I would get the last of my achivements but this is screwing me over bad

Michael

On October 24, 2010 at 6:04 pm

@ MJB. You must have pissed off either a guard or someone else in the Strip. You can either reload the game from a save point before, or kill one of the robot guards out front. They have keys.

Michael

On October 24, 2010 at 6:06 pm

This is for everyone. A recent article posted on http://www.BethSoft.com said that the updates for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are in their final stages of testing, they also went on to say they hope these patches are live very soon. The PC version has now received two patches, the first contained 200 fixes, whilst the second concentrated more on autosave and quick save functionality.

Michael

On October 24, 2010 at 6:12 pm

@ Brhocks. Man, I don’t really know what to tell you, other than reload from a previous save, or restart. The game is still being glitchy, so just be patient for the updates and hopefully it’ll fix a lot of bugs. I’m having problems with my game freezing when I shoot down the gun, so I tend to save VERY often and right before I have any enemy encounter.

A good tip for people, if you want to watch out for enemies easier, make a character with a high perception level. Or you can get a high repair skill and recruit ED-E from Primm into your party. He has a skill that gives you extended perception on your radar.

K PLZ I HAVE NO IDEA WAT TO DO, LIKE FOR SOME REASON THE FIRST TIME I WENT TO THE FORT AND I TRIED TO GET IN CEASERS TENT AND THEY ALL ATTACK ME!!?
WATDO I DO?????

Michael

On October 27, 2010 at 12:26 am

@ avery. You have to be invited to see Caesar. Do quests for The Legion and get his attention, and he’ll notice you. Or just stick to the main storyline, and you’ll get invited eventually.

I am having trouble with getting the platinum chip. I am allowed into Fort Hill with no problem then when i enter the gate to where i have to walk towards ceasars tent everyone freaks out on me even when I am still in legion uniform. I am stuck on this part because no matter what route i take or if i use a stealth boy they still attack me when I have done nothing wrong in the camp. any advice or am I just screwed and have to start over?

Michael

On October 29, 2010 at 6:30 am

@ Ross. Did you just walk to Fort Hill, or did you go to the dock and have them transport you there? If you did the boat, you should have had all your weapons taken from you, and you should be allowed to go directly to Caesars tent. If not, then you might have to either fast travel out or find another way.

Ross

On October 29, 2010 at 7:16 am

i had gone there previously by the boat but i left and then fast traveled back. I will try traveling by boat and see where that gets me

Has anyone had any problems with Boon’s Loyalty quest – I forgot to remember to forget? I went to Bittersprings, and the quest updated to meet Boone on Coyote Ridge. When you get there, your quest arrow is right in front of you, but nothing happens, I have waited, moved, popped in and out… It is really getting me irritated, I can’t get any new followers, being stuck with Boones loyalty quest.

before you think about causing unrest in an oposing faction you should be deciding who you are. I decided to go completely rogue for as long as possible as a gun for hire type character. This has it pro’s and cons are you are likely to be attacked anywhere at any time by someone you once had onside but they have gone cold blooded killer. However this also makes getting into and out of places a heck of a lot easier tahn a ram-raid style of attack. One of the good things in doing this, is you can carry x2-3 quests for the same area doing the good component first then completing it with the badguy one so you only have to shoot your way out after collecting a heap of loot for free. There is plenty of things to kill, hence having Lord Death perk X2 and Bug Killer perk x3 will obviously make most environments more agressive, but what you bring to the game, you should be prepared to handle with some prowess. Dying is a part of payback when your hail of weapon fire is overwhelmed by the stomping feet of Death Claws. Been there and its supposed to be scary – perk must Animal Friend , but if you steal from them dont expect them to stand there and let you leave freely. Stealth and cunning without the stupid flashlightis you camouflage – use gun with Nightscope – bought from supplier at NCR early in game. You can use to scope any night or dark terrain, caves etc without giving up your cover. Also you have a bonus for sniping in the dark and critical hit is much higher, remember to crouch and use Steady – dont collect for another day – theres plenty more supplies in all those places you visit. if you really need to stash stuff use lucky 38, Docs and any secure location that you know will stay in your favour. Remember that whilst you are roaming the areas to complete quaest objectives, it is a bit like a balencing act to keep all parties happy. That objective of the Rogue is to get the job done with as little damage to rep possible. If you can setup or cause to blame to go to someone else – then do so..as it is to your advantage… do not kill any of the main leaders unless you want to go to end game relatively quickly. As for weapons and aromur – Maybe i’m telling you too much..so i’ll leave it there.

Hey Stu – if you want the NCR back onside you need to get their favour – go to Curran and do some stuff to help the NCR that will reduce the heat enough for you to go through The Strip to the Embassy where the NCR leader is – at reception you say you need to see him and that is all – go directly to his office and speak with him. He will give you teh 1st of 2 quests, complete it and whalah you will be back in the groove with them. Continue and you will get offside with other factions, but you may have already hade enough of them to do away with their help anyway.

Dont kill the brotherhood till you get that upgrade armour – oh doing a bit of Roulette will alway fill the bottom line of Caps you have to spend – also if you can handle about 12 hours of Roulette and BlackJack to get kicked out of all the Casino’s on The Strip – theres an Points award and you wont leave empty handed – theres also a really nice Reinforced Armour worth 8000caps if you gat a winning streak at Gammorah. You can cheat it either – which is good – as some of my firends are a bit pissed that they didnt receive this handout. I’m sure therea are other suprises thta are yet to be uncovered. In Gommorah Cassino alone you should leave with minimum 12,000caps – that’s alot of good armour upgrades when you need them – best to wait till you are lvl 20 though so you can use the stuff on bigger nastier creatures.

hey so im completely stuck aparently a while ago i ticked off everyone in gomorrah and now i cant complete the how little we know quest which is a required quest in order to complete the main quest of for the republic 2. ive tried stealthboys and lily. and i run out of time and/or EVERYONE i try to talk to their except for the receptionist attacks me. i am out of resources, their all red to me because a long time ago in my game i tried to get into that cabana/pool side area which is apparently off limits. i have no idea what to do. am i going to have to restart my ENTIRE game in order to complete this mission? i have no way of going back to the time where i ticked everyone off. please help!

On November 14, 2010 at 12:06 pm

@David, The plasma pistol for the Brotherhood of steel is in the Scorpion Gulch NOT the irradiated crater with the centaurs. The pistol is in the centre of the Gulch, on top of the large rock near the dead body hope that helps

MarineMechanist

On November 14, 2010 at 12:14 pm

@skruff84, To get the Bomber out of the water you need to complete all other main quests for the Boomers first. Then Loyal (one of the boomer leaders) will give you a detonator and 2 inflatable ballists that you must then attatch to the planes’ wings. Once back on land go to the spot where the detonator beeps (marked on map) detonate and watch the plane rise! NOTE: I reccommend getting a rebreather before attempting, just makes things easier. You should be able to aquire a rebreather through one of the previous boomer quests for Loyal.

On November 14, 2010 at 12:23 pm

@Matt, To Get out of Vault 22 you have to talk to Keeley (a Goul) who is in the cave at the very bottom of the vault. Talk to her and she will tell you how to eliminate the spores in the vault. Do that then talk to her again and she will let you out. Note:She will ask you about the Data you got from the vault, you have the option to give her the data for Karma but no reward, or you can sell it back to the researcher in Camp Mcarren, also it can be used in the quest I Could Make You Care (1 of 3 options)

@Sydni
I had a similar problem, but I was helping Mr House for the main quest so not sure if this works for you.. I stealth boy’d my way to the dude you have to talk to for the journal, talked to him and then after it said they could be ignored I was OK to kill them.

I want to get on the NCR’s good side so i talked to him and convinced him to leave. BUT my exploding collar is still on!!!I went back into the Brotherhood’s bunker and they shot at me. it probably was because i was wearing a NCR uniform. But now I cant get into the bunker because when i ran back up the stairs they locked down the door that leads into their main place. AND I DONT HAVE ENOUGH LOCKPICK SKILL!!! So NOW IM STUCK IN HIDDEN VALLY WITH THE EXPLODING COLLAR STILL ON!!! Can somebody give me some cheats or something to help me get some exp. to level up faster so i can improve my lockpicking? I want to go out of Hidden Vally but MY HEAD BLOWS UP!!!! Please help me!!!!!!!

Okay. So I went with mr. House and got to “The House Always Wins part V”. Then I got the mission for part VI but did not fail it yet. The NCR and I are still friends. Is part VI the same as all of the other ones when you don’t follow mr. House?

Bostic

On December 12, 2010 at 3:18 pm

@ Paladin, the remnents bunker is activated through Arcade in the Followers fort in freeside. He has a quest that will send you around to talk to to people that were part of the enclave and they each have a part pf a phrase you need to open it… but when you get in there and discuss their plans do not leave with out talking to the person that is supposed to train you with the armor… i found this yesterday and did not rerieve the armor. Its encalve power armor supposed to be almighty… as far as power armor goes. again DO NOT leave before training.

Bostic

On December 12, 2010 at 3:22 pm

@aiden might be a simple fix… change out of NCR unform ofcourse, then try talking to the speaker box… they should let you in if not the your screwed as far as that goes and will have a hell of a war on your hands when you need to destroy them.

Austin

jussi

On December 18, 2010 at 4:55 am

Nice! Except “One For My Baby”. You should go to the hotell, open the safe and get “bill of sales”. Then get the old lady from bed and go with her to front of dinosaur. Put on the beret and…

When you talk with Boone, you can give the evidence “bill of sales”. Everyone is happy!

Jordan

On December 21, 2010 at 11:11 am

@Austin

Kill P. Khan in his sleep and then talk to Regis. He’ll take over after that and will be more willing to help the NCR. Make sure you use a silenced gun though. I used a silence 10mm.

@deanosan – The old lady at the front desk has proof that she sold Boone’s wife in the safe in her office. Read that and then take her out to the dinosar and show boone the proof.

jsvarzbein

please make sure that you put ALL the options for quests. in G.I. Blues you do NOT have to kill the NCR agents as long as you do not pull your gun out you can walk to elizabeth and talk her out of it. do this if you do not want to gain infamy with them.

Having problem getting to ceasers legion. Killed everyone in cottonwood. Tried to walk there, made it as far as Hoover Dam. Can’t walk acrossed the top on the road, tried to go around by going underground through the office tunnels. Came acrossed 2 different doors that are locked. Found a couple of keys in the desks at powerstations, nothing to let me get through them doors. Anybody know where the keys are that I need? or can I walk all the way back to Cottonwood and the boat guy will be back and not shoot at me?

even if you kill the boat guy you can just go stand on the boat and then click it it should take you across.
