Ubisoft has announced through a press release that it will be launching Far Cry 2 for the PC early next year. The company seems pretty confident that they can pull off a good sequel to Crytek’s award-winning 2004 shooter, according to to Tony Key, Ubisoft’s vice president of marketing:
“Far Cry marked the beginning of a new era for shooters. An era of gorgeous graphics and of advanced artificial intelligence. We are confident that Far Cry 2 will have the same impact again on the FPS genre landscape.”
Will Ubisoft be able to keep the franchise popular? We’ll have to wait until Spring of 2008 to find out.
