Far Cry 2 Creative Director Clint Hocking Leaves Valve
Clint Hocking, Far Cry 2 creative director, has left Valve after 18 months with the company.
Hocking, who was also the game director of the original Splinter Cell, worked for Ubisoft for nearly nine years before leaving the company in May 2010. After a two year stint as a creative director for LucasArts, Hocking worked for Valve until the end of 2013, his personal website and LinkedIn profile confirm.
During his time with LucasArts, Hocking worked on an unannounced project — not Star Wars 1313 — that has remained a mystery since his departure from the company.
As a contributor to Edge Magazine, Hocking stated his belief that replay value in a game stems from richly interconnected, well-balanced systems rather than sheer quantity of content. That’s a design philosophy I strongly support, and as such, believe he will be missed at Valve.
