Female NPC’s Coming to Minecraft “Eventually”

Minecraft appeals to everyone. Tall or short. Old or young. Or very young, judging by the people asking questions at this weekend’s Minecon convention. With more than 241 million logins a month, the game is also loved by legions of female fans.

For the time being, however, these dedicated distaff Minecrafters have had to make do with male avatars. Not for much longer, however. Today at Minecon, developer Jens “Jeb” Bergensten revealed that providing more support for female gamers is something the team discusses “a lot.”

The first step, according to Bergensten, will be an option on players’ profiles allowing them to reveal their gender. “Eventually,” however, people who wish to will also be able to create female avatars. If that’s something you’ve always wanted to do in the game, be patient — Mojang is working on it.

@Warp, perhaps a slightly shorter/thinner avatar, or support for long hair, wich would also mean a different skin file… who knows?

Look at a female mod for questions on how they look like, maybe.
