FIFA 12 Trailer Launches New Man City Kit

There are many storied money-making traditions in European football, though not many as inviolable as the yearly ritual of slightly altering the uniform design and asking fans to shell out their hard-earned pounds and euros for a slightly altered version of last year’s kit. Despite their billions of petro-dollars, Man City’s Middle Eastern owners are not immune to this trend. They are, at least, trying a different approach.

As part of a blockbuster deal signed between the English Premier League’s noveau riche powerhouse and EA Sports, the Man City’s new home kit has been introduced to the public in the video below. The clip provides a welcome respite from pictures of footballers standing around a photography studio trying to look heroic, or volleying invisible balls. It also shows off the eerily accurate facial rendering of the Man City players, another aspect of the partnership between the megalithic game publisher and the megalithic club.

You can also see some of the new gameplay features in action, although the lack of misogynistic commentator Andy Gray is not in evidence. FIFA 12 will be available September 27th.
