BWMod Leopard 1A5
During its service period between 1965 and mid-2003 the Leopard 1 main battle tank proved to be a rugged and reliable weapon system. This first German post-war MBT development was armed with a
British 105 mm L7A3 rifled main gun and able to engage targets at ranges up to 2500 metres. Until the end of its service several improvement programmes and modernization efforts kept this vehicle at a modern standard. Additionally, the Leopard 1 provided the basis for a whole vehicle family including the Bergepanzer 1 armored recovery vehicle, the Biber armored bridge layer, the Dachs armored engineer vehicle as well as the Gepard SPAAG.
