Jedi Knight III

Cell-Shaded Riddick

Description:

Okay, you\'ve all heard me complain about people skinning bald heads over models with hair, right? Once again, it looks silly folks. Don\'t do it. This model, according to the read-me, is supposed

to look cell-shaded. I\'m guessing that\'s because the author doesn\'t know how to paint realistic textures. I\'m not saying that in a mean way, of couse, but it\'s not just like *POOF* whee I can paint realistic textures! It takes practice of course, but this... well... this is just the paintbucket and paintbrush tools gone for a joyride. The only real textural detail I can find here is what was left from the original skin - that is, from Lando\'s skin. There are some shape details, such as the holes in the gloves, but there is no shading or detailing anywhere on the new parts of the skin, other than the thick fat lines around the lips. It\'s a nice try, but I\'d suggest that the author get GIMP, hunker down with some tutorials, and practice is painting technique. And if you\'re going for a cell shaded look, I\'d suggest a cell-shading shader. I can\'t profess to know what Riddick looks like, but I\'m going to take a gander than this lumpy-headed unshaded skin probably isn\'t it.
