Jedi Knight III

Episode 2 Obi-wan

Description:

Just as I was beginning to think this looked like a slightly manlier version of one of the Hanson brothers, I took a close-up look at Obi-wan's beard. Ugh! I don't know what they did to it, but it's

icky. If you zoom up real close you can see a visible line where they recolored (or something - I really don't know) that makes it look like his face is crusted over with some horrible disease. The skintone of the nose isn't close to matching the rest of the face, either. To be honest, I really doubt this was the best model to reskin as Episode 2 Obi-wan. No offense to Aaron Smith - I love his work - but this model just doesn't capture Obi-wan the way it should. He looks far too young - although since I haven't seen the original model lately, that could just be the skin work. I kind of doubt it, though. I think it has something to do with the face. In any case, I can unfortunately say that the face looks nothing like Ewan McGregor. That's too bad, because he's a real hotty. As for the rest of the skin, I get the impression not much was changed. They mentioned that they 'lightened' it, but nothing else. Oh yes, by the way. Obi-wan's eyes are more of a grey color - not a vibrant blue.
