Jedi Knight III

{NJO}Ranius' First Four

Description:

Yay, a skinpack of... reborns. There are four skins here, so I'm going to review each of them in their own separate section. Akras This skin, while certain parts of it certainly look cool,

overall just wasn't done very well. The arms don't blend well into the torso at all, there's a visible section on the reborn's left arm where the texture doesn't meet up at the seem, and the coloring of the legs just seems to clash for some reason. The green really kind of comes out of nowhere, and the grey of the legs has just enough color in it to visibly contrast with the grey on the torso. The arm cuffs look neat, but without a specular or chrome shader in-game they look a little tacky, as they don't truly look like metal. Aktursian I'm sorry, but I don't have much good to say about this skin. I really can't say there's a lot bad to say about it either, though, other than that his fashion sense much be atrocious. I mean, a pink and teal reborn?! This skin has some red and orange trim on it, which look okay with the pink I suppose, but the thing that really kills me is the yellowish wrappings on the cuffs and boots. Those clash. Ranius This one is a really neat idea, but looks very funky. Most of the reason is because of the way over-contrasted hood, and the fact that the author left the little flaps on the skin. If it were me, I would've removed them. As it is they look like they're coming out of nowhere. Other than that, the only big problem with this skin is that while the texture is well muscled, the model is anything but, so it looks a bit out of place, or painted on. Again with no shader it does not look like metal, and looks very unrealistic. Respensia This skin is more like your typical reborn. It has red, blue green, gold... a plethora of color with no real theme tying it together. This kind of thing is typical for most first skins, so there's room for improvement, but just slapping random colors on a skin isn't a great way to earn brownie points with your downloaders, so keep that in mind for the future. I'm not sure I get the point of the little decals - looks like grass and lightning bolts? Again, no theme, so we will have to wonder what the significance of such decals is.
