Voyager. Now that I\'ve gotten better at using Photoshop, I thought I\'d have a go at altering the textures to look a little more canon. I was pretty happy with the result so I showed the changes I\'d made on the forum, it got some positive feedback so I decided to release what I\'d done :) What started out as a fairly basic edit of the original textures now consists of 3 different texture sets all darkened and recoloured to the more canon grey: Original textures (USS Bellerophon registry) USS Voyager registry Registry removed You can choose which of the texture sets you\'d like to use with your Intrepid Class and just paste them into your texture folder. Whether you want Voyagers registry for use as a hero unit, the removed registry for use with multiple ships, or if you\'d prefer to stick with the Bellerophon version, then you should find this mod useful. So, you can enjoy new textures whilst beating the enemy to a pulp, something we all want. Fantastically, the other person does not need this. Other perks, well, the screenshots say it all really. There's some fantastic texture jobs here and the backgrounds are very nice in deed, definitely worthy of what Armada 2 should've been. So, simply, install this and enjoy your new textures because it's definitely worth it. Those 56kers, you'll want to stay online to have this and for those with broadband, give this a whiz in a minute or two and sit back and enjoy it. Anyhow, enjoy this, I thoroughly recomment it! Oh, and another good perk - AutoInstaller! I mean, anything that comes with one of these is just asking to be downloaded!

full use whilst the Sovereign and Negh'Var also get an overhaul. We've been promised a fixed Sovereign as the textures for the ventral (looking from beneath the Sovereign) part of the saucer is the saucer flipped. Should be noted though, this isn't really the fault of the developer as this was how it came stock, but it is a marked improvement. In terms of the Sovereign textures, I'd say they were definitely better, but I'm less optimistic in approach regarding the nacelles, hopefully something else to fix. However, its textures are, as I said, are definitely improved. The Negh'Var does however look stunning. Bar actually getting the known modded Negh'Var model, this is definitely a close second, it really is. Whilst it might not hold true to canon Negh'Vary colours, they do look fantastic on the stock model and definitely make it stand out in a good way. Another plus is that all of these come with their Borg texture equivalents, which is always a pleasant addition. The mod, as it says, does allow you to still play online which is another positive aspect. In short, I look forward to the future releases of these replacement packs because if this is the start, the rest can only be better more so! Download now. How come all of the stock regular weapons have exactly the same ranges? The damage dealt by each weapon seems to have been randomly decided based upon how cool the ship looked at the time. I found the situation irritating. Yet at the time there was little I could do about it. That time has passed. Before you is the A2 Weapons Project. It addresses my concerns and the flaws and mistakes I found in the weapons odf files. In conjunction with the A2 Physics Project, it diversifies the stock races even more. Each is now different enough so entirely new tactics and strategies are now viable options to the old ones.
of the Klingons firing their signature weapon while others used phasers. So I decided to redo ALL of the Klingon ships to fire disruptors. This is not a new set of weapons, although it does include one. It is mostly an adjustment to the stock ships odfs. I've sent in the odfs my Klingon ships use with the new weapons mounted where the old ones were. These odfs also include things like self destruct and tractor beams. You may need to adjust the "ScaleSOD = X.X" to get the ships to fit into your game better. The disruptors were tweaked to fit A2PhysProj v1.1 a little more closely. This mod is intended to be used with elevatormusic's Random Textures mod installed, but it will work without it. As usual, I've also included a set of backup files in case your game crashes or you do not like this mod.

Bio-genic decimator is a early 22nd century Romulan technology. Once used against Earth and Dominion colones in the war. It is equipped with the Kulinor class' (Cardassian science ship) Plasma cannon for the Decimator. It looks like the federation Cargo ship except bigger and uses Bio-matter so you won't be able to use alot (Unless you edit it, lol) Armed with the Borg assimilator torpedos. It comes with it's own special yard. It looks like the Phoenix facility and a Romulan Mark II construction ship. All files needed are included. There is alot of TechTree entries so you might not be overwriting much. It has alot of special energy, shielding and Health. This background is a combination of various NASA/public domain long-range photographs of interstellar objects and I strongly recommend you download this, effective immediately. Saved in 512*512 resolution, these are high-detailed, beautiful pictures arranged fantastically to allow you to blast your opponent's armada whilst absorbing the colours and beautiful sights of the galaxy. Simply, download now and enjoy some faultlesly arranged pictures from the final frontier.

in the stock game, it hardly had the most impressive textures, what with it being entirely covered in dull grey armour. Obviously it\'s the simple and effectiveness of the Borg shining through, but it\'s boring. This re-texture nicely turns it around. Freakman, using Night Wolf\'s very good Borg textures, have adapted these for use on the stock Tactical Cube (and Tactical Fusion Cube) giving it a vastly enhanced look. Gone is the dull grey. Now, we get the terrifying sight of the standard issue Borg metal with heavy armour in front. Considering that the rest of it is stock, I\'ve got to hand it to Freakman for making this look so very good. You definitely can\'t fault the quality of placing of the textures. Obviously, not a huge file, this simple mod will make part of your stock game look far far better. Definitely a worthy download.

In fact, you name it, it\'s likely been done to that ship. This is where one of the universal advantages comes from with this texture though; any mod that uses the original Ambassador textures will benefit from this and it\'s safe to say that that is quite a lot of mods! The changes are seemingly minor, but well received. Gone is the registry that was found on the different points of the hull and edits to the deflector and nacelles, basically making it a bit sharper. The best addition though, without a doubt, has to be the new Borg textures which litter the craft upon assimilation. Perhaps adding a little too much, it shows how much improvement the vessel would take (well it\'d need it, wouldn\'t it, being however old it is) by covering a lot of the saucer and nacelles with implants. At the end of the day, this isn\'t just good if you only have the original Ambassador, as it certainly has a larger purpose, but a lot of well placed effort has gone into this tweak and it\'s certainly recommendable. In short, it gives a bit more life into a ship past its prime. Definitely worthy of a download.

The little icon that shows the amount of Centurions in the resource bar, the main race icon in the main part of the interface (the middle portion), Centurions in the craft and the large race icon in the map editor are now all changed to portray that of the grey bird. Nice, subtle touches that definitely make the Romulans a little more up-to-date. A shame it is then that these touches aren\'t on newer interfaces that on the whole may seem better than these little nicks, but regardless of that, this does add something a little special to the Romulans.

presuming, like the last mod, this will be the stock Intrepid model and textures (although better then using the Akira for a Stargazer base). Still, this will be a buildable hero ship, meaning it will be far more powerful then your average Intrepid class in-game. That being said, the modifications are promising for future work.

Nonethelss, it is a good ODF modification and it's a positive sign of things to come from this developer, keep it up and soon, you will be making the Stargazer.
how 3000 crew are built in about 17 seconds. Watch for that as it could be a significant drain on your resources. Whilst the idea is good, I feel as if a lower number should\'ve been picked, for example 1000 as the ship just looks like it couldn\'t hold 300 personnel, let alone 3000. Hopefully we\'ll see improvements on this in the future.

standard Intrepid, this is the odf replacement you\'ll want for your stock ship. I\'m guessing it\'s a first mod and ODFing is where a lot of people started, so don\'t be too harsh.

and where ships can dock etc. etc. adm_tyler has gone to the trouble of easily mapping out the stock Defiant and Diamond craft with simple-to-understand hp map\'s and combined with recommended odf\'s that do differ from stock play and make them more powerful (better hull/shields and more weapons). So how is this helpful? Well, if you use stock material and want to mod them, by say putting weapons at different locations, hp maps enable you to view only that and the odf at the same time, other than having to go into a 3d modelling program and work it out from there. So, it saves time and this one looks pretty good. My only gripe is that there seems to have been a loss of balance from the stock game with the tweaked odf\'s, however needless to say I think both the Diamond and Defiant probably should\'ve been more powerful in the game then they were assigned to be, so I don\'t think much harm is done here. Basically, it combines the coding from the conflicting files and allows play with both. Now whilst you might say this is a very simple mod, which it is, think about what it allows you to do. You can now play two very kick ass mods...AT THE SAME TIME! For people who don\'t really know how to mod too well, this is ideal and for those who do, well this will save you time.
replaced in terms of models with a re-scaled basic Tactical/Cube model and textures, which honestly, isn\'t that bad an idea. -Technology required to build the behemoths is extensive, which is something else I like. You\'ll have to do all your level 2 research to get the Fusion Cube and then level 3 for the Tactical Version. Then again, looking over the Tactical Fusion Cube, it\'s a pure-bred base destroyer with some very heavy armaments (two would destroy a starbase in under 10 seconds, without a doubt). -Officer counts for the Cube and Tactical Cube are reduced. I\'m not too fond on this, with the idea being that Cubes now only have 5 officers with Tactical Cubes having a mere 7. This, whilst designed to allow for more Fusion versions, is a little too much for me, as the amount of Cubes accessible would be un-balanced I believe. -Assault ship replaced with Queen\'s Diamond. This, again, I think is extensive, especially the whopping 30 officers required to build, which is just a little too much in my opinion. Granted, the ship is powerful, but not *that* powerful. -A new build option of a portable shipyard to build straight off the fusion cubes. It\'s an okay idea, but with the other changes, I don\'t think it will be wholly effective. Whilst I\'ve seemingly poured in a lot of cynicism, you\'d have to find out for yourself the balancing issues but, for early game play, I supposed it would make the Borg a little more balanced, so for that part, I like this mod.

that they are arranged in a numpad-type palette where the tactical window is placed. The background of the palettes and menu are more opaque than normal or so they appear. This arrangement is not as neatly placed as the stock menu but the commands all placed in the numpad type layout make it easier to see and access. Even though it obstructs the tactical window it will prove useful ingame. This adds to the efficiency of your gameplay as you as accessing commands is unrestricted by a frame like the stock layout, however some may not like the way it departs from the original layout so it may take some getting used to. If like myself you are used to nothing but the hotkeys [i](habbit obtained from Homeworld)[/i], you would still find this arrangement a great help. Tactical Cube and Tactical Fusion Cube. Some scripting changes are also included in the mod, the changes are to the odfs of the Assimilator and the Cubes. The Assimilator now has a transwarp device and it has more special weapon energy, also the auto-assimilator weapon has been fitted on all versions of Cubes (normal, fusion and tactical). In order to get these to work you must remove some of the original .tga files (consult readme for guidelines on how to do so), however the original files are included in rar format in this mod in case you have a change of heart and wish to revert to them. As for the textures themselves, they are not bad. The Cube is a much better improvement over the stock although at times it is hard to distinguish the shape of the cube due to the textures. The Tactical Cube is probably the best of the bunch, the tactical armour is reminiscent of Starfleet hull armour but it looks good nonetheless. The Sphere and Assimilator are good, with the Sphere appearing more :borg:-ish while the Assimilator doesn\'t look any bit like a Borg hull composition but whatever floats your boat I guess ;) In it\'s entirety it is good, a lot better than the stock but not as good as some Borg retextures out there. Each shipname is accompanied by it\'s own respective registry number. This little dink of an addition might not be everyone\'s cup of tea but I for one used to get pretty vexed when I saw duplicate names in ship\'s odf or even when I ran out of names and everything that came out of the shipyards became \'U.S.S. [i]shipname[/i]-A\'. This file includes 3,500 shipnames and registries with 107 ship classes, although there are some dud names too like the \"[i]U.S.S. Handsome NCC-27001[/i]\" and the brilliantly named starship \" U.S.S. Voodoo\" which I think is a great shipname. Even my hometown is in there as a Callisto Class ship but I\'ve never heard of a Callisto Class, and there are hardly any country names in the database, such as \"U.S.S. Canada, U.S.S. Ireland, Poland, Outer Mongolia :p...etc\". The one thing to note is this is only a text file so these are not inputted in ODFs so you will have to search the text file to add them to whatever ODF you wish to. I mean, if you were a god, wouldn't things like throwing asteroids at Earth to doom dinosaurs to extinction, or giving human beings five toes instead of, I dunno, twelve.... wouldn't that be a kind of mod in and of itself? And how would we know unless they ran into a CTD? Look, it was either that or poetry. There was a god who made some mods.... and so on. This texture replaces the stock Sov's special weapon, the corbomite reflector, itself one of the more "godlike" special weapons available in-game. This sort of thing has been done before, but if you're looking for something new, and you still rely upon the corbomite reflector to get the job done against the enemy, this will pretty up your Sovs real nice. No modification is made to the weapon itself, just the weapon's texture. Either way, Omega_Mod_God is off to a good start-- this is the kind of "simple yet essential" concept that makes a good first mod. Hopefully not the last. It'd be a shame to know a god only by the absence left behind.... Shoulda done the poetry, eh? :cool:

way because there is no .SOD included. By the looks of it, this'll work perfectly well if you copy "fconst.sod" as "fmyard.sod", but you shouldn't have to figure that out for yourself. Otherwise you'll have a white box with a red bug on it building Galaxy, Akira, Steamrunner and Defiant class starships. All this while firing phasers and using the Federation repair team special weapon as well. You've never seen a .SOD error this powerful! Standard operating procedure is that new mods include every last file that they require, even if they're just stock ships doing new things. This is why the author's mention (in two places) in the readme that "it does not have an image yet" is all the more irritating. These are stock. All you had to do was copy the wireframe and build button entry from stock and re-name it. For that matter.... All you had to do was copy the .SOD from stock and re-name it! To make a mod with such an unbalanced and outdated concept using stock materials is bad enough. To release such a mod in an incomplete and poorly done fashion.... we deserve better. Here's hoping we get it in future releases from this modder. :cool:

talented Icewolf has put together a way to make those phaser bursts (which, ever so annoyingly, all look precisely the same in-game playing stock) all varied and different based on the several races included in the game. A nice touch, certain to add to the PotDs and to the realism of the game. I highly suggest taking what's referred to as the "down and dirty route". It's a lot more work in terms of what it requires, but we're modders, we're used to doing a bit more work to get good results. Do that here, as the results are epically worth it. In theory you could use Mother as a mighty offensive weapon for 8472 if there were enough of them to move as a formation. Terrifying thought, isn't it. Doesn't 8472 have enough offensive weaponry already!? Tom_720's second .ODF mod makes it possible for yo fluidic space mamas to both go to warp and move far more quickly than before. A simple tweaking of the physics files turns the strong arm of the Ma from a starbase to a superdreadnought. One thing I've always wondered about the Species 8472 design is why only the Mother is mobile. But you'd think the research cores should be mobile, too. I can see why the gates wouldn't be mobile since there's a fixed point in fluidic space involved. I mean, technically speaking, those structures all come from embryos. So why can't those other structures move when they're made of the same embryo 8472s as are used to evolve into being a mother? (And if they evolve before they're supposed to, does that make them teen Mothers?) :lol: :cool:

Very handy if you want to add a tractor beam or weapon to a specific area of the ship - just consult the guide and chose the best suited hardpoint, a small but ingenius addon to the file database. what it is in short, but in long... A project undertaken to create a better looking Armada 2, simple, you say? Perhaps, however, I haven't gone over pretty much every texture file in-game to try and make it look nicer and I'm willing to bet you haven't either. On-top of the previous 1.2.1 version, you can expect a few more ship/station textures replaced and weapons...and the background...and it still works online! Yup, the point of this modification is to be able to play a greatly enhanced, graphics-wise, version of Armada 2 to play on-line. The advantage more-so than that? Well, as it is only textures, your opponent doesn't need this (though it is recommended as it looks rather nice). It also comes in a handy .exe so you can just install it by a few clicks of your mouse. In fact, the only bad thing I can see is of the rather large download size, which is 5x larger than the previous version, of course it is all worth it, so if you're a 56ker, I'd stick with it. To point out, the quality of the 1.2.1 upgrade a year ago was really quite something, so it's going to be pretty obvious that the upgrades in this pack are going to make it even better than the previous one. So, do you want to blow up the enemy with some new phasers and quantum torpedoes, or stare at the new backgrounds? Perhaps you'd like to see the newly lit planets or observe your Defiant's blasting the enemy starbase with a flurry of pulse phasers. The choice, is, of course, yours... ... ...of course I thoroughly recommended it! Download this now, or forever be missing out!

Essentially, it\'s a simple odf mod which gives the high end ships bigger guns, but in fleet action, I suppose it really could look quite interesting, with 8472 weaponry flying all over the place. In summary, it\'s a nice mod if you just want a demonstration of the raw power of Species 8472 but I doubt it would be much use to other things. She comes with all necessary odf changes.
override can give you command of anything thats capable of moving (ships or even movable stations like the species 8472 mother) I do think this is a bit unbalanced because of the sheer power of the computer override weapon. The computer override is notorious for the death of high value ships such as the Tactical Fusion Cube by taking it over and self destructing in the stock A2, and its barely balanced out by being able to run avoid the projectile thats fired. With a wave you can\'t hide, and worse it hits multiple targets. As all battleships have the option to self destruct one of these ships could fire off its weapon and self destruct an entire armada of ships. A human player might be able to adjust to something like this, but the AI won\'t be able to making this a total \"god\" weapon.
so the phasers never miss, and adds quantum torpedos. As an extra bonus this mod will also make the Defiant look a little bit bigger then usual.

under Porty\'s name back in days gone by :p and the Excalibur is a model which the major has released for Star Trek Legacy as well as Armada 2. These include a new stronger phaser specifically assigned to the Construction ship, a better tractor beam, Corbomite Reflector enhancements (might need it on the front lines ;)) and a Romulan cloaking device (which would violate the treaty of Algeron I might add :)) For a first mod it shows good initiative but I would have liked to have seen a bit of work done to the textures to complement it\'s status as an \"Advanced\" version of a stock ship. upon p81\'s very own Oberth however [b]Jetfreak [/b]has also done an accompanying set of Borg textures which are interestingly from a scanned image from the [i]Star Trek: The Next Generation Sketch Book[/i] so they could be considered Canon-ish :). There is an Admiral\'s Bitmap along with the retextures but You will have to get Deemon\'s version for the rest (SOD, ODF, techtrees, wireframes, buildbuttons). The mod maybe a small addition but I believe it\'s worth it. These Oberth textures are probably the closest to the hull texturing you see on the series\' or indeed in technical schematic manuals. starship, that should not weaken the hulls on either section unless the undocking went wrong. This makes their hull integrities equal to the stock Galaxy-Class but they can be easily rebalanced for whatever Galaxy-Class you happen to be using. Note- this should be another drop-in, if there are any problems post them in the comments section, I try to check them every day.
confuse you: that's just the Admiral's Log bitmap. The actual ship isn't nearly that detailed. And this mod offers nothing in terms of an improvement in the model or its textures--- it's just a new .ODF for the game to use. :cool:

\"scanned\" borg assimilation textures are a nice touch and it is a decent mod but their is a negative side to this mod too, unfortunately. On the other side of the coin, their is no ODF, or SOD so this is in effect two targa files. I have never seen an individual mod called 9 of 9\'s Akira not even on AFC, however it is indeed located in Borg Incursion 3 Federation Side, although downloading 38 megs just to get a SOD and a set of ODF\'s is cumbersome (I had to download BI 3 just to test this out), My suggestion to the author would be to get the Sod and ODF\'s from the original modder along with permission for those.
