Armada II and run this on it. It will completely convert the game to a English copy. Or, if your German and fed up of the voice acting and would prefer to hear it in the original English then here is your chance. Its completely compatible with multiplayer with other people playing version 1.1
v1.0 Definitely worth a download. Gives new life to those boring old command buttons.
better.... nice job
These include a new stronger phaser specifically assigned to the Construction ship, a better tractor beam, Corbomite Reflector enhancements (might need it on the front lines ;)) and a Romulan cloaking device (which would violate the treaty of Algeron I might add :)) For a first mod it shows good initiative but I would have liked to have seen a bit of work done to the textures to complement it\'s status as an \"Advanced\" version of a stock ship. If you like the sound of this mod and are in dire need of a Construction ship with some teeth to last it on the frontlines then I suggest getting this  - IKS
terms in the readme as my permission is very conditional.
There is one thing I especially like about modders: Whenever they accidentally release something incomplete or incorrect, the fix is not far away. Can't expect that from a large software company. In this case, R5D5 brings us the missing textures for his 2nd Ship Pack. Thumbs up for a fast fix and an awesome mod. If you haven't downloaded the ship pack by now, what are you waiting for? Go, get it now.
and Romulans. (Borg players have to assimilate it themselves.) :D This is every bit as good as the original, with the little changes needed to take it from being good, to great. GUI modding will never be the same again. Download this right now.
Cube. It has several Phaser and photon/quantum torpedo bays, and a crew compliment of 750.
Sounds like a god-ship to me. If it's your sort of thing, this simple .ODF mod has what you're looking for.
replaced. This is a set of pretty new textures which are well worth a download if your playing online or using the stock models. There are some good screenshots below, and in this case I think they can speak a thousand words. :)
don\'t get many retextures of the old ones, which is a shame. The stock models do have to be used online and they can\'t be replaced. This is a set of pretty new textures which are well worth a download if your playing online or using the stock models. There are some good screenshots below, and in this case I think they can speak a thousand words. smile
seems to have enhanced general weapons and an enhanced hull and shielding strength, but clearly, it "can't" resemble the look of the Stargazer, no matter how much squinting you do. Nonethelss, it is a good ODF modification and it's a positive sign of things to come from this developer, keep it up and soon, you will be making the Stargazer.
at the Main Menu " and it replaces the last animation (the whole picard talkin thing) before the Main Menu
me of the Legacy Galaxy textures which are the same shade of grey. They certainly do improve the stock models appeal greatly. The mod also includes Borg textures and an extra texture to suit Epytron Omega\'s nebula variants. A solid piece of retexturing. Nice work! - IKS
Ship Info handlers. Changelog:

New Selection-SOD (192 Polys)
Changed Race-Icons
New moving Cross
New Shipinfo-Icons
Blue Font colours
Bugfix for Project Blue: Level 2
The Grid Select button handler is cool. Shaped like, well a cross between a Circular Saw Blade and a circular wind vein (I actually forget the shape\'s name), it certainly is a departure from the stock Grid Select. The Race icons are also different as they appear to have a chrome effect which is better than the plain white stock ones. Ship info icons are also changed, with similar chrome effect done to them (the shield icon looks like an Anti-Virus logo icon). All-in-all it\'s a nice little package from FahRes\'. Note: Level 1 and 2 are not required for this but would be a good thing to have to match these. - IKS
corner buttons as well. Nice touches and changes by FahreS. And best of all, you don\'t need Part I to get Part II to work. Never seen an episode of Trek that can claim that. ;) Get this one --and Part I, as well-- today, and bring the look of your A2 build up a couple notches. - the Kid
imagined by the builders requires a high-definition facelift, and this one\'s really something. Now, if you\'ve never noticed it before, you sure will now. Check out the screenshot if you want to see the results. Download it if you want to see some results in your A2. - the Kid
Tactical Cube and Tactical Fusion Cube. Some scripting changes are also included in the mod, the changes are to the odfs of the Assimilator and the Cubes. The Assimilator now has a transwarp device and it has more special weapon energy, also the auto-assimilator weapon has been fitted on all versions of Cubes (normal, fusion and tactical). In order to get these to work you must remove some of the original .tga files (consult readme for guidelines on how to do so), however the original files are included in rar format in this mod in case you have a change of heart and wish to revert to them. As for the textures themselves, they are not bad. The Cube is a much better improvement over the stock although at times it is hard to distinguish the shape of the cube due to the textures. The Tactical Cube is probably the best of the bunch, the tactical armour is reminiscent of Starfleet hull armour but it looks good nonetheless. The Sphere and Assimilator are good, with the Sphere appearing more :borg:-ish while the Assimilator doesn\'t look any bit like a Borg hull composition but whatever floats your boat I guess ;) In it\'s entirety it is good, a lot better than the stock but not as good as some Borg retextures out there. Still gets a  - IKS
and to use if they cant do it themselves. this ODF modification will let you smite your enemies with a cheap fleet of Ventures! they’re still weak as hell but at least this time you’ll die fighting!
familiar to NCIS fans. A fleet of them can engage a formidable foe or cause heavy damage to enemy bases.
times more time to reload. This when combined with same hit to miss ratio makes missed shots much more penalizing (as your ship needs to wait 2 or 4 times more for another go). Also Type 3 torpedos on Galaxy now have artillery range and fire at one target. Federation pulse phaser platforms, outpost, defiant and venture now fire pulse phaser in salvos of 6, but have 6 times longer reload time. I have decided that Phalanx will use its pulse phasers as torpedoes and will fire them on volleys of 4 instead of 6 (he has 4x longer reload time, 0.20 second delay between shots). Defiant is now a bit stronger because it gets a phaser when it achieve any rank (1st gray rank - you get a phaser). To do (if I don\'t get tired of editing): - Make adaptor more useful - Edit defiants new phaser location (possibly) - Repair any bugs - Possibly make Federations fully upgraded outpost change into spacedock (just a model change).
standard federation phasers in Fleet Operations roughly 40% thinner, and hopefully satisfy the artistic needs of all us picky modders. Enjoy! - Adm_Zaxxon
1.2.5 patch is required for this to work. A neat idea. Worth a look.
phasers creating two different fire rates that have a slight delay between them.
Mod "Originals" The original files that came with the stock game To install just drop it in under textures/rgb and overwrite when asked.
starship, that should not weaken the hulls on either section unless the undocking went wrong. This makes their hull integrities equal to the stock Galaxy-Class but they can be easily rebalanced for whatever Galaxy-Class you happen to be using. Note- this should be another drop-in, if there are any problems post them in the comments section, I try to check them every day.
substitute the Nebula-Class repair team weapon so that this ship may repair the other ships in the fleet. I created this mod with the idea to create a better frigate, I believe that I have succeded. As a side note a frigate(for those who don't know naval terminolgy is a support ship designed,in this case, to provide some form of protection or covering fire for friendly ships. Note-You do not need the previous version of this to make this one work.
please let me know. I also cleaned up the stock textures a bit. NOTE-The stock Agean-Class is needed for this to work!
Fahres's compact Dream GUI, but it's not required. Visually, This actually does looks very nice. If your a federation fan your probably going to want this. - Freyr
you'll probably want to get this model: http://armada2.filefront.com/file/CG_Sovereign_Class;92125 These glows are superb. And best of all, they're for stock A2. No more are nice glows only available in Fleet Operations!
CompactDream reduces the amount of screen time your GUI frame will obstruct your view. A note, though. This is currently only for the Federation, although I can't imagine it'd be difficult to modify to use in ANY given GUI you'd like. FahreS has also included .BMP and .TGA examples of buildbuttons that could be integrated with this GUI, and suggests you try it yourself. A fantastic bit of work --and only a download away from being yours.
format Enjoy, Franxoft Imports
target. Since the station is quite huge that, in my opinion did not do it justice. So making good use of the HP map provided I set out to puzzle how to fix this. Take a look. I think you will find it to be more to your liking. I created some Borg textures as well, but the are not really to my own satisfaction. Franxoftimports
-=WiCKeD=-HARKER" so the interface will look the best it can. This mod contains new buttons for most basic functions, and some special weapon buttons.
unfortunately. Another nice refit from FranxoftImports. Hopefully we'll see more than just retexture work from this promising new modder.
the Defiant in order to work, but the concept should be applicable to any Defiant you had in mind.
pics i had a whopping (5) Species 8472 pics. This mod is an attempt to rectify that. Included are re-textures of all the stock 8472 ships, stations, weapons, Special Weapons and even the Fluidic map background.
Worth a look.
decided to spend my time on the one aspect of A1 and A2 that always looked bland to me. Especially when you've got a game filled with those great looking non-stock ships.
Be sure to follow the installation instructions carefully-- you'll have to install this one manually. And you'll surely enjoy it immensely.
achievements will match each other. After all, it's an open dispute whether the forces responsible for reality, which we might consider gods or perhaps a single god, are still working on their first mod. I mean, if you were a god, wouldn't things like throwing asteroids at Earth to doom dinosaurs to extinction, or giving human beings five toes instead of, I dunno, twelve.... wouldn't that be a kind of mod in and of itself? And how would we know unless they ran into a CTD? Look, it was either that or poetry. There was a god who made some mods.... and so on. This texture replaces the stock Sov's special weapon, the corbomite reflector, itself one of the more "godlike" special weapons available in-game. This sort of thing has been done before, but if you're looking for something new, and you still rely upon the corbomite reflector to get the job done against the enemy, this will pretty up your Sovs real nice. No modification is made to the weapon itself, just the weapon's texture. Either way, Omega_Mod_God is off to a good start-- this is the kind of "simple yet essential" concept that makes a good first mod. Hopefully not the last. It'd be a shame to know a god only by the absence left behind.... Shoulda done the poetry, eh?
today's your lucky day. Most of these are texture upgrades, simple revamps and alternate looks for their respective models. Please note that the pack does not include any of the original odfs or sods, you need to download them separately from the site. As for any descriptions regarding what's new with the textures, I'm pretty certain the provided screenshots can speak for themselves. If you want to use any of these items in any of your mods, please contact me first via email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
will have to decommission everything and build again. Well not any more. You can now tractor your stations around the map and move your base anywhere.
There are some drawbacks --take a look at the readme for more-- but the moving station mod, along with the "maximum Defiant" mod, is probably one of those .ODF mods we've seen the most of around here.
beautiful effort, truly in keeping with the spirit of the new film! Here's hoping it's not the last such GUI we see from Tain_Enabran!
starbases and have included some screenshots for you to view. My computer didn't exactly take the screenshots right but I included them in the file itself of some of my results. I tested with the federations ships. Simply put, it was pure ownage. The weapon is overpowered and this mod is intended to be more comical than anything. To view the screenshots simply open them into the paint program.
Which would explain why this mod is 3MB-- all the screenshots are in MSPaint format. If you haven't already given your conships the ability to defend themselves, or even if you have, this is an often-repeated concept done a little better (with bigger booms) by staingar.
bleached out. Original file can be found here: http://armada2.filefront.com/file/Mercury_class_Battlestar_Pegasus;98200
mods that A2 inspires in you, the community. Your efforts mean something no matter how insignificant you convince yourself they'll be. Some people consider a mod a failure if it doesn't get some mystical number of downloads. But even one person downloading it means you've inspired someone else to mod A2. And for that, we thank you. This so-called "extremely basic" mod changes the shockwave for larger ships to have a blue, faint colour rather than a bright orange shade. It's exactly what you'll need if you like your explosions to be powerful yet subtle.
backups. While to some .ODF mods get filed under A for "Anyone can do this", it's still a lot of work and worthy of some respect.
is prepared to deal with all manners of threats; several changes have occured. Powerful new ships, fast mining and battles galore await you as the Klingons test drive the latest inventions. The only question is whether the power will stabilise the Empire or give thought to expanding the Empire once again! Today is a good day to die!
way because there is no .SOD included. By the looks of it, this'll work perfectly well if you copy "fconst.sod" as "fmyard.sod", but you shouldn't have to figure that out for yourself. Otherwise you'll have a white box with a red bug on it building Galaxy, Akira, Steamrunner and Defiant class starships. All this while firing phasers and using the Federation repair team special weapon as well. You've never seen a .SOD error this powerful! Standard operating procedure is that new mods include every last file that they require, even if they're just stock ships doing new things. This is why the author's mention (in two places) in the readme that "it does not have an image yet" is all the more irritating. These are stock. All you had to do was copy the wireframe and build button entry from stock and re-name it. For that matter.... All you had to do was copy the .SOD from stock and re-name it! To make a mod with such an unbalanced and outdated concept using stock materials is bad enough. To release such a mod in an incomplete and poorly done fashion.... we deserve better. Here's hoping we get it in future releases from this modder.
This button, while simple, seems really cool. Very well done job.
those animated parts actually look like they have a purpose-- a terrifying, typically Borg purpose. As Borg retex work goes, this one's fantastic, and hopefully not the last of its kind. Download this one today.
all ships are cloakable, which makes it a bit more realistic.
Actually, given that "realistic" in this case means that no Federation starship would have cloaking ability.... ah, never mind. Download this one if you want it, or if it's something you haven't already figured out for yourself.
talented Icewolf has put together a way to make those phaser bursts (which, ever so annoyingly, all look precisely the same in-game playing stock) all varied and different based on the several races included in the game. A nice touch, certain to add to the PotDs and to the realism of the game. I highly suggest taking what's referred to as the "down and dirty route". It's a lot more work in terms of what it requires, but we're modders, we're used to doing a bit more work to get good results. Do that here, as the results are epically worth it. Download this one today.
and wf's for his fantastic set of recently-released Cardassian do-overs. As with all buildbutton / wireframe packs, following the readme instructions is highly recommended. Dan puts as much work into giving you the right instructions to use the mod as he does into the quality of the mod itself. That kind of respect commends itself to your immediate intention, even if you're still wasting time using stock spoonhead starships. Download this one ....for Cardassia!
intensive, descriptive, and tells you everything you'd ever want to know about the subject. You can either simply apply the re-texture or give the planet an assimilation technique that looks almost like the A2 introduction which terrified us all when first we saw it, featuring multiple Borg colony vessels ripping up a helpless world. We still can't re-create the effect of the colony ships.... but the assimilation is now possible with this mod. Worth a look.
In theory you could use Mother as a mighty offensive weapon for 8472 if there were enough of them to move as a formation. Terrifying thought, isn't it. Doesn't 8472 have enough offensive weaponry already!? Tom_720's second .ODF mod makes it possible for yo fluidic space mamas to both go to warp and move far more quickly than before. A simple tweaking of the physics files turns the strong arm of the Ma from a starbase to a superdreadnought. One thing I've always wondered about the Species 8472 design is why only the Mother is mobile. But you'd think the research cores should be mobile, too. I can see why the gates wouldn't be mobile since there's a fixed point in fluidic space involved. I mean, technically speaking, those structures all come from embryos. So why can't those other structures move when they're made of the same embryo 8472s as are used to evolve into being a mother? (And if they evolve before they're supposed to, does that make them teen Mothers?)
go to warp?" For many, the answer was their first mod. Our new friend Tom_720 proves no exception. Simply put, this mod allows warp speed ahead for every construction ship, cargo ship, and mining freighter (as an added bonus for both of our 8472 players, transmuters can now also warp)! While this is a fairly regular feature among mods, notably the Physics Project, it's always nice to see someone new among the community.
How come all of the stock regular weapons have exactly the same ranges? The damage dealt by each weapon seems to have been randomly decided based upon how cool the ship looked at the time. I found the situation irritating. Yet at the time there was little I could do about it. That time has passed. Before you is the A2 Weapons Project. It addresses my concerns and the flaws and mistakes I found in the weapons odf files. In conjunction with the A2 Physics Project, it diversifies the stock races even more. Each is now different enough so entirely new tactics and strategies are now viable options to the old ones.
of the Klingons firing their signature weapon while others used phasers. So I decided to redo ALL of the Klingon ships to fire disruptors. This is not a new set of weapons, although it does include one. It is mostly an adjustment to the stock ships odfs. I've sent in the odfs my Klingon ships use with the new weapons mounted where the old ones were. These odfs also include things like self destruct and tractor beams. You may need to adjust the "ScaleSOD = X.X" to get the ships to fit into your game better. The disruptors were tweaked to fit A2PhysProj v1.1 a little more closely. This mod is intended to be used with elevatormusic's Random Textures mod installed, but it will work without it. As usual, I've also included a set of backup files in case your game crashes or you do not like this mod.
IceBite's put together, you'll want to download this one.
ship names. This promises to be a preview of a new mod yet to come. If I had to guess, the tractor beam plays an important role in that mod, since it seems to be the only offered improvement. File this one under "anyone can do this".
part of the 1.2 and 1.3 Upgrade Project releases however its recently become apparent that as this was not separately available from the main releases some people were still using the original without realising there was a better alternative.
make its special weapons assimilation-friendly. Note that the author makes no guarantees it works, since apparently there's some questionable .ODF entries. To have that sort of thing in the description of your .ODF-only mod really begs the question.... why release a simple .ODF mod that anyone can do if you're not going to check to see if it works for the average modder straight from the download? We expect better at A2Files. Nonetheless, the installation instructions are lengthy and detailed, and if anything needs fixing, please post a comment and let us know.
updates both Ferengi ships' texturing so the lightmaps are vastly improved, especially in dark maps or maps with custom ambient lights. Like version 1, this mod also includes newly-updated textures for multiplayer games. Get this one today.
credited, but were made by Agroborg), with proper .ODFs for every weapon, plus buildbuttons and wireframes for every one of these frigates. This revision marks a substantial improvement, however, proper credit MUST be given on all new mods. Just be sure to do that in future, IceBite. Worth a look for all you Halo fans.
Note that the author does NOT include weapons sprites in order for the missiles to work. This is a major oversight and represents a HUGE problem in this mod, as it apparently requires you to download not one, but two separate other mods in order for it to work. From the readme:
for missiles to work, download the Star Wars Fleet Command Mod then install a Borg/Federation mod (Loke Ultra Borg Mod 3 Final Battle and the Missiles on all 3 SHOULD work)
For my time and effort, that's too much work to put into a mod that promises the same exact thing in three separate types --and no buildbuttons for the individual types. It's a disappointing second mod which offers little more than the original effort. Yours for the download, just hope and pray it works the first time.
confuse you: that's just the Admiral's Log bitmap. The actual ship isn't nearly that detailed. And this mod offers nothing in terms of an improvement in the model or its textures--- it's just a new .ODF for the game to use.
Bio-genic decimator is a early 22nd century Romulan technology. Once used against Earth and Dominion colones in the war. It is equipped with the Kulinor class' (Cardassian science ship) Plasma cannon for the Decimator. It looks like the federation Cargo ship except bigger and uses Bio-matter so you won't be able to use alot (Unless you edit it, lol) Armed with the Borg assimilator torpedos. It comes with it's own special yard. It looks like the Phoenix facility and a Romulan Mark II construction ship. All files needed are included. There is alot of TechTree entries so you might not be overwriting much. It has alot of special energy, shielding and Health. Energy regenerates at 99 points per second and same with shields.
Sounds like a god-ship to me, but I might be wrong. Either way, here you have it.
may be thinking "anyone can do this", it's this modder's first mod, and not a bad concept, at that.
than transporting. But judge for yourself.
in being there. Anyway, Firestorm603 has given us the means to access the aforementioned vestigial Collective station. So now you can build as many of 'em as you want. Best of all, the programming didn't change one bit between A1 and A2, so the shockwave looks pretty much the same once it's destroyed. Bonus. Download this one if you hadn't already discovered this old stuff made new again.
these mods together as a single "armed freighters!" release in future.
trickery. Download this one if you're sick and tired of losing your support vessels.
Not a bad idea, considering it doesn't exactly arm the freighter with offensive weapons but does give them the opportunity to mine and live another day. Worth a shot if you don't know how to do this yourself.
any way. It's simply a slightly bigger Defiant, with a cloaking device and the engine overload special weapon added. "This is for people new to modding and are unsure of how to edit an odf", as the author says. A decent first release, and although we've seen other mods like it before, it's still good to see new content from new comers.
particularly appealing-- either as an adversary or as a concept. So when thunderfoot006 told me he wanted to work out the physics used by canon 8472, then apply them to our still-kickin' Physics Project, I was all for it. I didn't expect him to come up with anything overnight.... ;) I just tried these out in game, and to be honest, so much of 8472 in this game is based on a conjecture-- even more than any other race, even the Borg. And they're a total nightmare to face already in stock. And thunderfoot006 has gone way out of his way to make these guys as close to the fluidic norm as you can hope for in a mod. I'll leave it to y'all to see if you like what he and Chiletrek came up with. As it's a pretty safe bet, since Chiletrek is the resident expert on Species 8472, I'm pretty certain you'll appreciate this addition to the Physics Project. - the Kid
the smallest of mods that give the greatest of inspiration.
Voyager. Now that I\'ve gotten better at using Photoshop, I thought I\'d have a go at altering the textures to look a little more canon. I was pretty happy with the result so I showed the changes I\'d made on the forum, it got some positive feedback so I decided to release what I\'d done :) What started out as a fairly basic edit of the original textures now consists of 3 different texture sets all darkened and recoloured to the more canon grey: Original textures (USS Bellerophon registry) USS Voyager registry Registry removed You can choose which of the texture sets you\'d like to use with your Intrepid Class and just paste them into your texture folder. Whether you want Voyagers registry for use as a hero unit, the removed registry for use with multiple ships, or if you\'d prefer to stick with the Bellerophon version, then you should find this mod useful. NOTE - You will need to have p81\'s Intrepid Class already installed in your game for these textures to be of any use to you. I hope you enjoy the mod! :) Dan(1025)
special consideration in their physics files. That consideration is paid, and with serious awesomeness, by thunderfoot006 in this mod. Note that the original A2 Physics Project files, while truly awesome, are not required to make this work. Complete installation instructions are included, however. Highly suggested that you follow those for every ship in the Collective, whether they're stock Wedges and Spheres or such bizarre fan-designed concoctions as the Tactical Pyramid. Get this one today. Resistance is now futile with more accurate motion. - the Kid
this ship. Best regards R5D5
four quadrants, the first two being Alpha, then Beta, on to Gamma, and eventually Delta. I hope you like. They make for darn good screenshots ;) - Ash
ship with an overlay of all the hardpoints on the model. Like always, it\'s colour coded with red (top), white (middle) and green (bottom) for the different sets of hardpoints. Very handy if you want to add a tractor beam or weapon to a specific area of the ship - just consult the guide and chose the best suited hardpoint, a small but ingenius addon to the file database. Nice work tyler, however I would rather see these seperate HP Maps amaglamated together in one big mod which would be more practical  Also it could be an idea for other modders to do something like this when releasing a new ship to help the user modify the weapons/subsytems if they see fit ;) - IKS
colour code - Red for Top HP, White for Middle and Green for the Bottom. Not bad, it shows you the general layout of the Hardpoints for you to modify them to assign weapons or any other ship subsytem to a specific hardpoint. - IKS
information. ;) - SSA
had told us who the 4th race was going to be) :p And there are a few fairly decent ships to be seen (some ugly ones too) :p - But all in all, it makes to want the project more ;) - SSA Do note, this file requires a password (which is in the ReadMe). For those of you who rarely bother with the ReadMe file, this time, your going to have to.
ones in there somewhere. - SSA
released for the Sovereign and B'rel displays all the hardpoints mapped over an image of each vessel dorsal view and the sets of HPs are shown in colour code - Red for Top HP, White for Middle and Green for the Bottom. Again this little mod shows some good initiative from the author as it displays the general layout of the Hardpoints for you to modify them to assign weapons or any other ship subsytem to a specific hardpoint. Cool concept, not a bad addition ;) - IKS
view of the vessel in question. Each set of HP\'s are colour coded for easier reading so it gives you a chance to add, modify or assign different subsystems to areas of the ship based on the corresponding hardpoint. Also added to this mod is an ODF for each ship and a global ship list to accompany it. - IKS
you don't need to and with screenshots like the one's below, who need's to be complicated, eh? The biggest perk is that this WORKS ONLINE. So, you can enjoy new textures whilst beating the enemy to a pulp, something we all want. Fantastically, the other person does not need this. Other perks, well, the screenshots say it all really. There's some fantastic texture jobs here and the backgrounds are very nice in deed, definitely worthy of what Armada 2 should've been. So, simply, install this and enjoy your new textures because it's definitely worth it. Those 56kers, you'll want to stay online to have this and for those with broadband, give this a whiz in a minute or two and sit back and enjoy it. Anyhow, enjoy this, I thoroughly recomment it! Oh, and another good perk - AutoInstaller! I mean, anything that comes with one of these is just asking to be downloaded!
what it is in short, but in long... A project undertaken to create a better looking Armada 2, simple, you say? Perhaps, however, I haven't gone over pretty much every texture file in-game to try and make it look nicer and I'm willing to bet you haven't either. On-top of the previous 1.2.1 version, you can expect a few more ship/station textures replaced and weapons...and the background...and it still works online! Yup, the point of this modification is to be able to play a greatly enhanced, graphics-wise, version of Armada 2 to play on-line. The advantage more-so than that? Well, as it is only textures, your opponent doesn't need this (though it is recommended as it looks rather nice). It also comes in a handy .exe so you can just install it by a few clicks of your mouse. In fact, the only bad thing I can see is of the rather large download size, which is 5x larger than the previous version, of course it is all worth it, so if you're a 56ker, I'd stick with it. To point out, the quality of the 1.2.1 upgrade a year ago was really quite something, so it's going to be pretty obvious that the upgrades in this pack are going to make it even better than the previous one. So, do you want to blow up the enemy with some new phasers and quantum torpedoes, or stare at the new backgrounds? Perhaps you'd like to see the newly lit planets or observe your Defiant's blasting the enemy starbase with a flurry of pulse phasers. The choice, is, of course, yours... ... ...of course I thoroughly recommended it! Download this now, or forever be missing out!
up your shipyard, with these colours, they'll be able to build at night...not that it makes much difference in space, but you know, they look great. Download now.
Well, stop! We have your answer, or more like, thunderfoot has your answer with new and improved disruptor (and torpedo) textures for the ship that edit what there is and make them look a lot shinier. Gone is the boring red beam and in is the green pulse! Huzzah! Anyhow, recommendable for those of you who like the finer colours in Armada...and of course want more out of destruction.
kicking yourself as to why you didn't take this piece of advice and start downloading sooner. Taking a look at the preview picture included, I was assured it would be another moderately well made mod...then I looked at the actual texture files. Amazing. This background is a combination of various NASA/public domain long-range photographs of interstellar objects and I strongly recommend you download this, effective immediately. Saved in 512*512 resolution, these are high-detailed, beautiful pictures arranged fantastically to allow you to blast your opponent's armada whilst absorbing the colours and beautiful sights of the galaxy. Simply, download now and enjoy some faultlesly arranged pictures from the final frontier.
fair bit nicer, as do the planets ;) - SSA
worth adding to your installation. Because it's only upgrading textures and not replacing anything it doesn't interfere with multi player compatibility.
and generally the entire set of textures on the rest of the ship and also has a fully modified texture set for the Galaxy class. Of course, they also come with the Borg textures. If you downloaded the first pack, you\'ll definitely be wanting this one.
full use whilst the Sovereign and Negh'Var also get an overhaul. We've been promised a fixed Sovereign as the textures for the ventral (looking from beneath the Sovereign) part of the saucer is the saucer flipped. Should be noted though, this isn't really the fault of the developer as this was how it came stock, but it is a marked improvement. In terms of the Sovereign textures, I'd say they were definitely better, but I'm less optimistic in approach regarding the nacelles, hopefully something else to fix. However, its textures are, as I said, are definitely improved. The Negh'Var does however look stunning. Bar actually getting the known modded Negh'Var model, this is definitely a close second, it really is. Whilst it might not hold true to canon Negh'Vary colours, they do look fantastic on the stock model and definitely make it stand out in a good way. Another plus is that all of these come with their Borg texture equivalents, which is always a pleasant addition. The mod, as it says, does allow you to still play online which is another positive aspect. In short, I look forward to the future releases of these replacement packs because if this is the start, the rest can only be better more so! Download now. An update for the Sovereign and Galaxy class textures can be found here.
opposition would no doubt have to download this in order to see the changes. - SSA
to your list! Its also multiplayer compatible.
affect multiplayer. The second part includes a moderately long list of some canon and some other made up ship names making it altogether, a nice little download. If this sounds interesting, download now.
in the stock game, it hardly had the most impressive textures, what with it being entirely covered in dull grey armour. Obviously it\'s the simple and effectiveness of the Borg shining through, but it\'s boring. This re-texture nicely turns it around. Freakman, using Night Wolf\'s very good Borg textures, have adapted these for use on the stock Tactical Cube (and Tactical Fusion Cube) giving it a vastly enhanced look. Gone is the dull grey. Now, we get the terrifying sight of the standard issue Borg metal with heavy armour in front. Considering that the rest of it is stock, I\'ve got to hand it to Freakman for making this look so very good. You definitely can\'t fault the quality of placing of the textures. Obviously, not a huge file, this simple mod will make part of your stock game look far far better. Definitely a worthy download.
a long time ago. All I did was change the gamma correction on the prevalent textures (included in this zip) and viola! neat, new easily discerned buttons.
many mods still have the Ferengi in, I think this is a must for everybody.
difference when your playing multi, as you can install this and still play online. Considering its just textures this is a remarkable job!
not entirely sure what has changed. (the texture may be a bit darker?) See if you can outdo me in spotting the differences :)
is, well... You all know when you build stuff, you get a nice Green / Red square around the building (depends on whether or not you are trying to build where your allowed too). Anyway, this changes that slightly. :) - Ash
(September \'02) but it has been used in many mod\'s, kit-bashed, converted. In fact, you name it, it\'s likely been done to that ship. This is where one of the universal advantages comes from with this texture though; any mod that uses the original Ambassador textures will benefit from this and it\'s safe to say that that is quite a lot of mods! The changes are seemingly minor, but well received. Gone is the registry that was found on the different points of the hull and edits to the deflector and nacelles, basically making it a bit sharper. The best addition though, without a doubt, has to be the new Borg textures which litter the craft upon assimilation. Perhaps adding a little too much, it shows how much improvement the vessel would take (well it\'d need it, wouldn\'t it, being however old it is) by covering a lot of the saucer and nacelles with implants. At the end of the day, this isn\'t just good if you only have the original Ambassador, as it certainly has a larger purpose, but a lot of well placed effort has gone into this tweak and it\'s certainly recommendable. In short, it gives a bit more life into a ship past its prime. Definitely worthy of a download.
contain better information on the ship which is moused over. Also included in this mod is a rework of the heroship's odf which simply gives all the heroship's a shipname (Martok's Negh'Var is called the "IKS Honour's Burden" although not a very Klingon name (I would have called it "Spoonhead cruncher" :p). The Borg Queen's diamond is known as "Command Node 001 Alpha" which is quite borgish :borg: This is a small mod, but a worthy one if you like the changes.. Good scripting work ;) - IKS

anti-friendly and Reman for that matter) including the look of ships (Valdore/Norexan) and the logo associated with the empire. Gone was the blue and green hue of a bird\'s outstretched arms and in was a bird clutching two orbs (the twin planets of Romulus and Remus) in a cool-grey/silver. You might say then that these touches are quite small. In deed that would be right, but it\'s the small touches that make it better, right? For a start, the button to select non-assigned craft which was a D\'Deridex Warbird is now a Valdore/Norexan. The little icon that shows the amount of Centurions in the resource bar, the main race icon in the main part of the interface (the middle portion), Centurions in the craft and the large race icon in the map editor are now all changed to portray that of the grey bird. Nice, subtle touches that definitely make the Romulans a little more up-to-date. A shame it is then that these touches aren\'t on newer interfaces that on the whole may seem better than these little nicks, but regardless of that, this does add something a little special to the Romulans.
anyone who is bored shitless with the standard menu, should get and download this. It looks nice, and has a wonderful change about it. Something to downlaod, that much is for sure ;) - Ash

but honestly, I've never had it in game, so for all of those who do, you'll definitely want this. It also comes with a special announcement from DM. presuming, like the last mod, this will be the stock Intrepid model and textures (although better then using the Akira for a Stargazer base). Still, this will be a buildable hero ship, meaning it will be far more powerful then your average Intrepid class in-game. That being said, the modifications are promising for future work.
its useful enough to... be quite useful.
//Shield absorbs all damage until it\'s gone shieldProtection = 1.0 In every file for every ship and station. And, erm... Thats it. If you want to apply this for some reason and you have other mods installed remember to make a backup as this will overwrite everything. -Freyr

more important and often forgotten, which is the gameplay.
how 3000 crew are built in about 17 seconds. Watch for that as it could be a significant drain on your resources. Whilst the idea is good, I feel as if a lower number should\'ve been picked, for example 1000 as the ship just looks like it couldn\'t hold 300 personnel, let alone 3000. Hopefully we\'ll see improvements on this in the future.
standard Intrepid, this is the odf replacement you\'ll want for your stock ship. I\'m guessing it\'s a first mod and ODFing is where a lot of people started, so don\'t be too harsh.

ship recieved a power upgrade, I\'d have thought giving it slightly higher armour would be appropriate, however, if you like your Romulans with powerful weapons, this small modification is for you.
marine carrier to charge the enemy!
and where ships can dock etc. etc. adm_tyler has gone to the trouble of easily mapping out the stock Defiant and Diamond craft with simple-to-understand hp map\'s and combined with recommended odf\'s that do differ from stock play and make them more powerful (better hull/shields and more weapons). So how is this helpful? Well, if you use stock material and want to mod them, by say putting weapons at different locations, hp maps enable you to view only that and the odf at the same time, other than having to go into a 3d modelling program and work it out from there. So, it saves time and this one looks pretty good. My only gripe is that there seems to have been a loss of balance from the stock game with the tweaked odf\'s, however needless to say I think both the Diamond and Defiant probably should\'ve been more powerful in the game then they were assigned to be, so I don\'t think much harm is done here. Download if you want.
replaced in terms of models with a re-scaled basic Tactical/Cube model and textures, which honestly, isn\'t that bad an idea. -Technology required to build the behemoths is extensive, which is something else I like. You\'ll have to do all your level 2 research to get the Fusion Cube and then level 3 for the Tactical Version. Then again, looking over the Tactical Fusion Cube, it\'s a pure-bred base destroyer with some very heavy armaments (two would destroy a starbase in under 10 seconds, without a doubt). -Officer counts for the Cube and Tactical Cube are reduced. I\'m not too fond on this, with the idea being that Cubes now only have 5 officers with Tactical Cubes having a mere 7. This, whilst designed to allow for more Fusion versions, is a little too much for me, as the amount of Cubes accessible would be un-balanced I believe. -Assault ship replaced with Queen\'s Diamond. This, again, I think is extensive, especially the whopping 30 officers required to build, which is just a little too much in my opinion. Granted, the ship is powerful, but not *that* powerful. -A new build option of a portable shipyard to build straight off the fusion cubes. It\'s an okay idea, but with the other changes, I don\'t think it will be wholly effective. Whilst I\'ve seemingly poured in a lot of cynicism, you\'d have to find out for yourself the balancing issues but, for early game play, I supposed it would make the Borg a little more balanced, so for that part, I like this mod.
Basically, it combines the coding from the conflicting files and allows play with both. Now whilst you might say this is a very simple mod, which it is, think about what it allows you to do. You can now play two very kick ass mods...AT THE SAME TIME! For people who don\'t really know how to mod too well, this is ideal and for those who do, well this will save you time.
override can give you command of anything thats capable of moving (ships or even movable stations like the species 8472 mother) I do think this is a bit unbalanced because of the sheer power of the computer override weapon. The computer override is notorious for the death of high value ships such as the Tactical Fusion Cube by taking it over and self destructing in the stock A2, and its barely balanced out by being able to run avoid the projectile thats fired. With a wave you can\'t hide, and worse it hits multiple targets. As all battleships have the option to self destruct one of these ships could fire off its weapon and self destruct an entire armada of ships. A human player might be able to adjust to something like this, but the AI won\'t be able to making this a total \"god\" weapon.
pulse and beam technology. Essentially, it\'s a simple odf mod which gives the high end ships bigger guns, but in fleet action, I suppose it really could look quite interesting, with 8472 weaponry flying all over the place. In summary, it\'s a nice mod if you just want a demonstration of the raw power of Species 8472 but I doubt it would be much use to other things. She comes with all necessary odf changes.
adding a few more ships (like a mini mod) to give more features, incresing the chance that the average webgoer will download it.
so the phasers never miss, and adds quantum torpedos. As an extra bonus this mod will also make the Defiant look a little bit bigger then usual.
Oh, and I almost forgot its got a tachyon grid built in as well as being capable of creating embryos. This could seriously upset game balance if an equivalent is not installed for other races.
called the \"Federation Battlestation\". The starbase 12-type base, the Starfleet Headquarters, is now called the \"Federation Starbase\" and a third lower valued base (copy of the 375-type) called the \"Federation Base Station\". Other inclusions are an \"advanced construction ship\" which is fundamentally a better construction ship. - IKS

that they are arranged in a numpad-type palette where the tactical window is placed. The background of the palettes and menu are more opaque than normal or so they appear. This arrangement is not as neatly placed as the stock menu but the commands all placed in the numpad type layout make it easier to see and access. Even though it obstructs the tactical window it will prove useful ingame. This adds to the efficiency of your gameplay as you as accessing commands is unrestricted by a frame like the stock layout, however some may not like the way it departs from the original layout so it may take some getting used to. If like myself you are used to nothing but the hotkeys (habbit obtained from Homeworld), you would still find this arrangement a great help. Notes:
This can be integrated into the Project Blue GUI mods that FahreS has created lately.
In addition you can choose between a 4:3 and a 5:4 screen resolution version. to. It is really only aimed at those that do not know how to add units to the map editor and even I find that this could have its uses as sifting through the odf files for the correct map odf file can be annoying at times. say they were absolutely fantastic, they are pretty darn solid and look the part, if not perhaps a little bit too green-washed. Still, the details on them are indeed plentiful and they support ChileTrek's Vor'Cha Variants which is an added bonus. Complete with odf's (which requires some disruptors to be fully supported) it's a good package for those looking to change the look of the Klingon's main cruiser. Good stuff.
here. What is good about this GUI is it has a distinct Freespace feel to it but it still has the structure of Armada 2's GUI so it's got the best of both worlds if you look at it in that context. I like the rough metallic "spartan" look which suits the Armada 2 layout. My memory of Freespace is hazy (only play Beyond the red line mod for it) but I do believe the logo is from the original Freespace and looks pretty nifty in this GUI. If you are a fan of Freespace and you like the screenshot then give this a try out. - IKS

under Porty\'s name back in days gone by :p and the Excalibur is a model which the major has released for Star Trek Legacy as well as Armada 2. Both models are a prerequisite for this mod therefore you can obtain them here and here.. This retexture is much like Jetfreak\'s other mods with respect to the fact that they do include some very neat Borg textures and are nicely done but the lack of alpha channels are a bit of a drawback. However, in saying that they are still quite good and are definitely worth checking out. Keep up the good work Jetfreak  - IKS -
Star Trek Armada II: Evolution. Even though it\'s not a mod per say, alot of work went into this. Each shipname is accompanied by it\'s own respective registry number. This little dink of an addition might not be everyone\'s cup of tea but I for one used to get pretty vexed when I saw duplicate names in ship\'s odf or even when I ran out of names and everything that came out of the shipyards became \'U.S.S. shipname-A\'. This file includes 3,500 shipnames and registries with 107 ship classes, although there are some dud names too like the \"U.S.S. Handsome NCC-27001\" and the brilliantly named starship \" U.S.S. Voodoo\" which I think is a great shipname. Even my hometown is in there as a Callisto Class ship but I\'ve never heard of a Callisto Class, and there are hardly any country names in the database, such as \"U.S.S. Canada, U.S.S. Ireland, Poland, Outer Mongolia :p...etc\". The one thing to note is this is only a text file so these are not inputted in ODFs so you will have to search the text file to add them to whatever ODF you wish to. In relation to the Mod in question, Star Trek Armada II: Evolution, this does seem to give some indication that there will be more new classes and ships in the bag. \"scanned\" borg assimilation textures are a nice touch and it is a decent mod but their is a negative side to this mod too, unfortunately. On the other side of the coin, their is no ODF, or SOD so this is in effect two targa files. I have never seen an individual mod called 9 of 9\'s Akira not even on AFC, however it is indeed located in Borg Incursion 3 Federation Side, although downloading 38 megs just to get a SOD and a set of ODF\'s is cumbersome (I had to download BI 3 just to test this out), My suggestion to the author would be to get the Sod and ODF\'s from the original modder along with permission for those. Note : Direct Download for BI3: Federation Side (Mirror Link Invalid) So in short, if you have BI 3: Federation Side then you can definately add this Akira retexture to the game however if not then it is a long and arduous process to get this ingame.:( On the Plus, this is a good retexture job. :) - IKS
upon p81\'s very own Oberth however Jetfreak has also done an accompanying set of Borg textures which are interestingly from a scanned image from the Star Trek: The Next Generation Sketch Book so they could be considered Canon-ish :). There is an Admiral\'s Bitmap along with the retextures but You will have to get Deemon\'s version for the rest (SOD, ODF, techtrees, wireframes, buildbuttons). The mod maybe a small addition but I believe it\'s worth it. These Oberth textures are probably the closest to the hull texturing you see on the series\' or indeed in technical schematic manuals. Another useful addition from Jetfreak. - IKS
