when I saw this one and gave it a try. The map is a small chain of islands, reminiscent of Invasion of the Philippines crossed with Coral Sea...not a bad mix at all :D. I fired up a coop server with 40 bots as recommended, joined the US team, and spawned on the carrier. I waited around a bit on deck to get my hands on the good ol\' SBD (the bots spawn directly in the aircraft and landing craft as usual). Just as I envisaged, the 4 control points around the edges of the islands got taken first, 2 for each side. Then the fight bogged down on the center flag, with jeep runs, tank battles, and planes roaring overhead trying to blow you to pieces. On the ground, I ran out of ammo pretty quick and I couldn\'t find many ammoboxes near the middle during the hectic battle, so I had to keep knife-killing the bots and taking their Engineer kits to lay down more landmines. Because of the narrow roads and bridges leading to the central point, landmines are one of the most effective assets in this map, and I got a good number of jeeps, tanks, and APCs that way. On the technical side, the map is flawless. I couldn\'t find any bugs whatsoever, I had no crashes and it ran very smoothly. View/fog distance is just right for dogfighting, and in Coop mode the bots are very good at doing their job. They\'ll land quickly on the beaches, cap the flags, and charge the central area while the planes overhead either dogfight, strafe infantry or bomb the tanks and APCs. And as you\'ll see from the screenshots, the map looks absolutely beautiful. All in all, a top-notch map from Fizzy. I recommend EVERYONE download this and play it - it\'s an absolute stunner.

all four maps added something unique to the game, be it in the form of custom objects, layout, setting or over all feeling, without loosing the original game play that is associated with Battlefield series. With these goals in mind, we sat down and looked through all the original maps, trying to figure out what types of map we thought were missing. It was in this process that the four maps started to take form. For Faid Pass we felt we wanted to create an allround map in Africa that added the US Army to this theater. In Operation Forager we wanted to create an infatry based map in the Pacific theater that would also feature the PT boats from Invasion of the Philippines. We also wanted to create a more gloomy feel for this map, deviating from the high blue skies and white sands found in the other pacific maps. The Great Pursuit fullfilled our wishes to create a tankbased map for the East European theater and also create an assault styled map instead of the head-on game style. Finally, with Remagen we wanted to bring into play a classic battle from WW2 that we felt should rightfully have a place in the Battlefield 1942 universe.

New buildings have been put at the flags and this makes for an interesting map. To the West, the are houses with a windmill (on vanilla BF - not sure about DC) behind, while to the East is a tenement block with a static machine gun in the top window. The bases have had new buildings added and are well laid out - they look like villages that have been turned into bases, not existing bases, which is good. Judging by the loading screen, the author has made winter skins for the soldiers and vehicles. Having only tested it on vanilla BF, I only saw the new skins on the vehicles. These are quite good and make the vehicles fit in well to the location. I recommend this map for any Single-player or Co-op fans out there, it's actually quite enjoyable![/quote]
only in one single player map for some reason, although it is in several of the multi-player maps. I\'m not sure why EA/DICE made this choice in the final game, as the B-17 is really fun in the single player maps as well, and the whole point of single player is to practice for MP, right? The bots will eagerly fly the B-17 and bomb away - I like to jump on as gunner, when I\'m not carpet bombing, that is. I\'ve tried to use default multiplayer locations for the B-17, except in the Midway and Iwo Jima maps, where it isn\'t in the multi games. The B-17 replaces a Torpedo or Dive Bomber in these maps, and only spawns when the Allies have the control point. I added it to the Midway map because historically B-17\'s were used in one of the initial attacks on the Japanese fleet IIRC on my history. You also get the battleships added in this Midway mod as well, what can I say, I like big bombs and guns ;-) Iwo Jima gets the B-17 as a surrogate for B-29\'s, which flew in to the airbase shortly after it\'s capture. The Corsair that normally spawns at the Iwo airbase when it is under Allied control is replaced with a Mustang, which flew in with the B-29\'s as escort and did operate from Iwo on missions to Japan the last few months of the war. The Mustang pilots had to fight off Japanese soldiers attacking their sleeping quarters at one point - the island hadn\'t even been fully captured when they were flying in. The Corsair still spawns at the carrier. I also tried to get the B-17 into the Wake Island map, just for the heck of it, but there just isn\'t enough runway space to take off without hitting a building, tree or something else.[/quote]

maps have been renamed and reworked to better suit the GF environment. Global Front features a series of maps that depict individual scenarios that may or may not be connected to the other maps. There is no overall story line to connect everything together. GF is intended to be played in coop game mode (due to limited players with such an old game) but Conquest and Objective fully supported. This is the first public release of Global Front and it is, unfortunately, still in a Beta form. There are many WIP/unfinished elements that our small team wishes to finish. We intend to continue and improve Global Front; adding to the build so long as players want new content and the team is enthusiastic to continue our hobby. BACKGROUND & HISTORICAL FACTS This is my first map for Battlefield1942. I tried to stay true to the original gameplay feeling , portraying historical facts in a games way, adding the little twists that makes every DICE map unique in terms of strategy and arrnament. E.g. you can play the first time as a German Fallschirmjäger, which is historical correct. You\'ll see this style reflected in the new (but less useful) minimap and the unusual light of the landscape. The scale has been lowered, but its still a huge terrain and some distances to travel in the game. Murphy\'s Militar Law says: \"There\'s nothing worse on the battlefield than an officer with a map.\" Your fieldmap is acurate enough, Soldier, deal with it. 2.WINNING CONDITIONS You can win by a) Holding Bastogne AND one controlpoint of the perimeter. b) Controling ALL perimeter including the Allied corridor at Villeroux. c) simply destroying the other team in a war of attrition. Capturing the German Volkssturm base is possible, but does not count toward perimeter. It\'s great for stealing some equipement \'tho. 3. VEHICLES Germans will not get a Betty, even if they catch the corridor. Often, spawnpoints are very spread out and far away from the controlpoint, same goes for the soldierspawns. There\'s usually a Willy to find nearby and using it as a taxi to the planes/tanks is totally legit on this map. GAMEPLAY TIPS Best Played with alot people. There are over 70 soldierspawnpoints on the map. Made for advanced players and advanced teamwork. The Defguns are useless without a scout. You can\'t take or defend the city alone. Artillery is very powerful. This map is good for testing out the range of a Priest or Wespe . Because of the bad weather conditions, air support is limited. Going over the fields with a vehicle isn\'t a good idea. Don\'t let the snow blind you. You can get in/ontop alot buildings in Bastogne. The controlpoint there has a large radius. Allies: Bastogne must not fall. Defend the city at all costs! Open a corridor for resupply. Beware of paratrooper misdrops. Axis: Make use of the Lobster tactic and attack from two sides. Siege the main city and close the corridor, then mop up the rest. Keep the Volkssturm troops coming with some Fallschirmjäger airborne support. You won't be able to spawn at the outpost if you capture it, so do your best to stay alive. Flanking plays a vital role in this map. You can sneak around the outside of the island and move in behind the enemy if they're mostly inland, or you can sneak a tank onto one of the hills and use the trees as cover so you can ambush passers-by. Despite the map being so simple, there's a lot of different methods for securing a victory. Actually, that's probably because it's so simple - the freedom of being able to use most of the map to attack a single point. Re-skins are abundant here. Most of the hand weapons get a new look, as do all of the tanks. US tanks are a more mottled sand/green, while the Germans have a splinter pattern on their sand/grey tanks. In addition, the maker swapped the No.4 in the US Engineer kit for the M1 Garand.

In this Mini-Mod, the Allied forces are equipped with the 101st Airborne Division uniforms which were used on D-Day, and throughout the war in Western Europe. Also, there are some gameplay changes. The Allied Scout now carries the M1 Garand rifle instead of the conventional Springfield No. 4 Sniper Rifle. The Axis Scout carries the Type 5 rifle instead of the K98 Sniper Rifle. than my previous mod they still cannot shoot though :( sorry im working on it though. This also makes the bots use the B17 alot better they now bomb by releasing 4 bombs at a time, and now they dont fly as crazy. Plus adds subs and ships to Midway and adds the B17 to Market Garden. If you have extracted the Sound.rfa you'll have a Sound folder somewhere in your Battlefield folders, usually in the root directory (example: c:/games/Battlefield 1942/Sound ). If you don't have that folder, you haven't extracted your Sound.rfa and can install the file just like the readme directs you to. Now if you do see the Sound folder, you'll need to either delete that folder or rename it to something like sound_notinuse or oldsound.old to keep Battlefield from reading it by mistake. Merville Gun Battery defences It overlooked the British invasion area of Sword Beach, and as it was believed to contain four 150 mm guns, it was a serious threat to the Allied landings. Each of the guns was sited within a reinforced concrete casemate, six and a half feet thick with a further six feet of soil above. As these could only be destroyed by an unlikely direct hit from the heaviest of ordnance, it was decided that British paratroopers would attack and destroy the guns a few hours before the landings at Sword Beach began. The 9th Battalion of The Parachute Regiment was selected for the task. The northern end of the Battery was protected by an anti-tank ditch, 14 feet (4.3 m) wide and 300 feet (91 m) long, with the remaining circumference protected by two belts of barbed wire, the inner belt being 8 feet (2.4 m) tall, and in between these lay a 50-75 feet deep minefield. The garrison, of gunners and sentries, amounted to one hundred and sixty men, and they were supported by numerous machine-gun emplacements and three 20mm anti-aircraft guns.  The plan of attack Lieutenant-Colonel Terence Otway, the commander of the 9th Battalion, had formulated a complex plan to assault the Battery. Firstly, an advance party of four men was to land in advance of the remainder of the Battalion. They would then proceed to the Battery to cut holes in the barbed wire and clear paths through the minefield. At 00:30, before this reconnaissance party had reached the Battery, one hundred RAF Lancaster and Halifax heavy bombers would attack it with 4,000 lb (1,800 kg) bombs in the hope of destroying the position altogether or at the least inflicting considerable damage upon the defences. At 00:50, the main force of the 9th Battalion would land and they would be expected to reach the Battery by 04:00. With them would come a troop of Royal Engineers from the 591st Parachute Squadron, and a plethora of equipment, including mine-clearance devices, bangalore torpedoes for dealing with the barbed wire, and two guns of the 4th Airlanding Anti-Tank Battery, which would be used to puncture the steel doors that sealed each of the casemates. At 04:30, No.4 Platoon was to make a diversionary attack on the main gate area whilst two sniper groups fired at enemy troops in pillboxes, machine gun emplacements, and flak towers. The next phase was to be the timed arrival of three Horsa gliders, containing most of the Battalion's "A" Company and more Engineers, who were to land inside the Battery itself and attack each of the casemates with Sten guns and flamethrowers. At the same time, "C" Company would make the main assault by proceeding along the cleared paths through the minefield, quickly followed by the remainder of "A" and then "B" Companies. In the event of failure, the light cruiser HMS Arethusa would open fire on the Battery at 05:30 if no success signal had been received.  Initial problems with the plan The entire plan, as laid out above, broke apart completely. Due to navigational errors, low cloud, and the pathfinders being dropped astray and so were unable to mark the drop zone for the 9th Battalion, the paratroopers were scattered anywhere up to ten miles (16 km) from the zone. Lt-Colonel Otway waited at the rendezvous point, but by 02:50 only one hundred and fifty of his six hundred and fifty men, and nothing else besides, had arrived. None of the Jeeps, anti-tank guns, mortars, mine detectors, medical personnel, sappers or the naval liaison party had arrived.  Success after improvised changes to plan With time pressing on, Otway was left with no choice but to attack with what he had. When the 9th Battalion arrived at the Battery they found that their reconnaissance party had gone about their business excellently, having made a thorough study of German positions as well as clearing four paths through the minefield. The RAF bombing raid had, however, missed the Battery completely and their bombs fell away to the south, doing no harm to the Germans but landing dangerously close to the reconnaissance party. By 04:30, the Battalion had been reorganised into four assault groups, led by Major Parry and consisting of "A" and "C" Companies, which were to proceed along two of the paths cut through the minefield. As they were forming up, they were spotted and as many as six German machine guns opened fire upon the 9th Battalion's flanks. A small party of paratroopers under Sergeant Knight engaged the three guns near the main gate, taking out their crews with bayonets and grenades, whilst the only Vickers medium machine gun available to the Battalion dealt with those upon the other flank. Knight then led his group around to the main gate and improvised the diversionary attack by opening fire with everything at their disposal, which distracted the Germans. As this was happening, two of the assault gliders approached the Battery, the third having cast-off over England when its tow rope snapped. The gliders were to be guided to the Battery by the troops on the ground using Eureka beacons, however none of these had been recovered from the drop, and so the gliders pilots were flying by eyesight alone. Their view was further obscured by clouds and smoke from the bombing raid, which resulted in one of the gliders mistaking a village two miles (3 km) away for their objective, Gonneville which was mistaken for Merville and bombed by the RAF, the resulting fires caused the pilot to think the target had been destroyed and so landed well away. The other, however, found the Battery and was making its final approach when it was spotted and fired upon by a 2cm anti-aircraft gun, wounding four of the men inside and throwing the glider off course. The glider finally came to rest 750 yards (690 m) away. The glider was a wreck and several men had been hurt in the crash, however they disembarked in time to detect and ambush a party of Germans who were marching towards the Battery. As the glider flew by, Lt-Colonel Otway gave the order to attack. Major Parry blew his whistle, the bangalore torpedoes were detonated to further clear the barbed wire, and the four assault groups charged forward. In the darkness, the marked paths were not clearly visible and some men strayed from the path and onto mines. Three German machine gun positions fired on the assault groups but these were soon dealt with by the Battalion's Bren gunners and snipers. Amidst the enemy fire and exploding mines, firing from the hip and lobbing grenades at any strong-points that they encountered, the paratroopers charged on towards the casemates. Initially taken by surprise, the German garrison quickly recovered, first by shooting flares into the sky to illuminate the area, and then by bringing shellfire down outside the wire, and even arranging for a battery at Cabourg to fire directly onto the minefield. Otway ordered in his reserve to deal with the final machine guns that were hitting the assault teams, who were entering the casemates and engaging their defenders hand-to-hand. The guns, which were to be destroyed with specialist explosives that had not been recovered after the drop, were knocked out one at a time using the high-explosive anti-tank Gammon bombs which each man carried. The fighting began to die down as the garrison was at last overcome, and by 05:00 it was all over. Inside and around the Battery the scene was one of carnage, with dead and wounded of both sides lying everywhere. The German garrison had approximately numbered one hundred and thirty, but by the end of the battle, only six were unscathed. Of the one hundred and fifty men of the 9th Battalion who began the assault, sixty-five had been killed or wounded. The guns which had posed such a threat to the invasion, even though they were found to be obsolete 100 mm guns instead of the 150 mm calibre that was expected, had been destroyed and many lives were saved as a result. The assault upon the Merville Battery, by a small and wholly ill-equipped force, is still regarded as one of the most outstanding achievements in the history of the Parachute Regiment. Within 48 hours the Germans would be back in the battery, and two of the guns would be firing on the beaches. But for the critical few hours ahead the Merville battery would be silent and deserted. also goes underground, into the sewers below said street, using ingenious and well-thought-out object placement to create an underground fight that would make BFV\'s tunnel system jealous. The sewer/tunnel system is quite extensive and houses 2 of the 3 capturable control points in the map, so prepare for some awesome underground fighting in the claustrophobic halls. At various points you can look up through grates and even see the street above, and there are little areas the sewer leads to that can give the player great firing positions over the street. Technically the map is very sound. I have a few gripes to mention, but that\'s because the map is flawless otherwise and it\'s only these little things that stand out. Firstly, there\'s a lot of kits to pick up around the place, but the author has placed them as a static object. This means that they won\'t respawn and if I remember correctly then if you host a game then you won\'t be able to see the kits but your clients will. Changing them to ObjectSpawns rather than statics will fix this (and if you want to stop the respawning, just set the respawn time to 9999). Flags also have only 1-2 spawnpoints, which means that with a little bit of research you\'ll know exactly where your opponents spawn every time and this could lead to some nasty spawncamping. Finally, the Crypt flag didn\'t have any cover around the flag radius, which might make it an absolute pain to attack since you\'re out in the open with nothing to hide behind/in while capping the flag. Those minor points aside, I have to say that I\'m very impressed by the author\'s hard work (this is a first map :eek: ) and attention to detail. The second map displayed is The Sky is The Limit. This map has a very unique and exciting game play unlike any other. The melee battle consists of various levels of narrow ramps connecting extremely tall buildings. Watch your step, because if you fall you will die; however, don't take your eye off the enemies in front, below, or above you. The next map you see is Uncharted Waters. This is a naval battle where the Decepticons are attempting to steel precious oil from an ocean drilling site and it's up to the Autobots to stop them. The last map is Valley of Death. After battling the Decepticons in space, the Autobots make a crash landing in a mountain range on earth. The Decepticons will not stop until all of the Autobots are eradicated; however, the Autobots are not ready to give up the fight. The mod consist of many more maps including Sword maps and Unlimited maps. Sword maps is pretty self explanatory. Every player class has a sword and that's it. Unlimited maps have special features such as everyone having low gravity kits. You'll enjoy the pleasure of shooting other robots out of the air while flying in robot mode. If you stumble upon a Matrix Kit you can pick it up ('g' key default). By doing so it will turn you into a new transformer with different weapons, features, abilities, and/or transformations. Speaking of transformations, the recharge times have been significantly reduced in version 2.0. Also, by fans request, all vehicles that shot bullets, now shoot lasers.

Australians’ stubborn resistance, Kokoda fell to the larger Japanese force and by 27 August the Australians and the few Papuan troops who had stayed with them had been forced back to Isurava. Reinforcements were sent from Port Moresby: first the 53rd Battalion, which protected a side-track behind Isurava, and then the veteran 2/14th and 2/16th Battalions, which had previously served in the Middle East. Throughout September, the Australian units withdrew down the Kokoda Track, being joined by the 2/27th Battalion. They made further stands against the Japanese at Eora Creek, Templeton’s Crossing, Efogi, Mission Ridge and Ioribaiwa. This co-op/sp map is focused around the days leading up to the 2nd of November, 1942 as Australian troops began to push the Japanese back through the trail resulting in the re-taking of Kokoda. To install, drop the .rfa file into the standard bf1942/levels/ folder. Version 0.2 removes loading error.

armed forces have crossed the border at Meraker. Their targets are Trondheim and Trøndelag. A major tank battle is about to take place as the two forces collide head on. The Swedes took over a small factory area and are using it as their base of operations. The Norwegian Air Base at Meraker has recently been reinforced by a company of Leopard 2 tanks and is on full alert and moving out. From the guys that brought you TRT Finnskogen comes TRT Meraker, a tank battle map galore. -------------------------------------------------------------------- FINNSKOGEN A "Silent Heroes" map by Pulaski and Ottasen v. 1.0 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Finnskogen is located on the border of Sweden and Norway. As the hostilites broke out, a Swedish Saab Grippen fighter was shot down in the area. Norwegian forces moved in, secured the wreckage and buried the pilot with full military honors. Pieces of the fighter were moved to a secure location for intelligence analysis. The Swedes dispatched a unit to retrieve code books and vital electronics from the Grippen. Their transport helo was shot at and crash-landed in the Forest. A unit of Swedish soldiers is now re-grouping and readying an attack on the Norwegian position. The combat zone is small and heavily forrested, with creeks and ponds. There are three defensive postions: East Flank bunker, West Flank bunker and The Ridge. All control points, including main bases can be captured. Main bases are worth more, so the bleed will start faster if you own main bases. There are no vehicles or aircraft on the map. This is pure infantry combat. Have a nice day.

the Norwegians and the Germans. Historically speaking Norway was about to be an important part of Hitler third reich in the spring of 1940. The germans were planning a massive invasion of Norway. The plan was to invade the country from its major cities and then proceed to capture the north. Norway was a country of great importants, its strategical position for attacking the convoys and the Russian border made it one of Hitlers prime targets. If the German troops could occupy Norway, they would gain a much greater chance of stopping the allied convoys who supplied England and Russia throughout the war.

earlier attempts at a Black Hawk Down map. not to insult the makers of those maps, but in my opinion they did not put enough effort into truly bringing scenes if the movie into their maps (for instance putting ural tankers, stingers, and a bunch of those white lostvillage houses on their map - just didnt make sense to me what they were thinking when they made it). Im not sure they understood what was really goin on logistically in the movie. This map is as close to the movie as i could possibly manage. flag areas and city sites were constructed using screenshots and video clips i took of the movie (using Fraps). Gameplay has been significantly changed from normal DC as well to reflect the movie style of combat. With this map, I also wanted to explore bf mapping-which can be a tricky business at times. in addition i think this map stands as something of a tribute to a great movie. a true fan of the movie i think will truly enjoy this, while the novelty will no doubt be lost on some. a lot of work went into this, so enjoy it as much as you can, at the end of the day - you dont lose anything.

Iraqi forces have to cross a river to get to the secluded base and village, luckily they\'ve also taken control of 2 Allied Blackhawks and boats, there are also 2 BMP2 light tanks for the assault. Allied forces have no fixed base to defend, they are fighting for survival against a guerilla force determined to reclaim their country, at their disposal are a smattering of local vehicles, Humvees and an M2a3 Bradley light tank. A mix of urban and open warfare can be expected, with narrow streets and paths between houses and wide open spaces between the village, weapons factory, docks and supply depot.

Known bugs and things that should not be: Because my BattleCraft random vegetation creator makes every tree double, so i decided to place them manually so they sometimes wont look that natural. Because of the limit of objects the edges of the map are little blank but it does not matter that much cause the main action is in the center of the map. The central island is a great place to hold out as it has a lot more cover than the others plus medical and ammunition resupply. To get between islands you'll have to run through shallow water without any sort of cover, so you need to make damn sure there's no sniper waiting to blow your head off on the island you're headed towards. If this sounds like as much fun to you as it does to me, check it out.

Stalingrad and Iwo Jima, sounds funny but it makes sense. They're fun to use for LAN matches or if you want a meaningful campaign with some bots. They don't do anything, its just to keep track of your campaign progress and whatnot depending on how you want to use them. I like to LAN with my cousin and we have a very complex way of keeping track of divisions, territories, etc. and we use these maps for our campaigns. Like i said, nothing great, don't get mad at me if you're disappointed. it marks every map of forgotten hope and each map has lines to other maps showing where one can attack from there. its only for tracking purposes but it took 2 hours to make. Just use MSpaint to mark the map for your campaigning pleasure. use/modify/distribute however you like, just at least say in your readme or whatever that I made the original : ) Cheers, Schutze. German radio from a farm they crashed next to, and using that radio called for help. A team of Allied paratroopers were dropped into the area to find the American bomber crew. Naturally, all this activity made the German units nearby curious, so they moved in on the crash site. The map is five control points, four creating a diamond shape around the perimeter of the map with one in the center. To trigger ticket bleed, you must either: a) Capture and hold both starting bases (\'Mill\' and \'Barn\') b) Capture and hold one starting base and at least two other control points (either \'Mill\' or \'Barn\', plus two of \'Ruins\', \'Farm\', or \'Armoury\') And here\'s a bonus: you can also play this in Road to Rome and Secret Weapons. The only changes are the vehicles and the teams that participate in the battle, however, it\'s still a fun change (the Grant\'s top gun is great against infantry because it\'s powerful and doesn\'t overheat). There are also a few jetpacks in the SW versions, and in RTR the German Assault pickup kits will have an Italian Breda LMG as a change to the SG44. See the installation instructions for more information. Forgotten Hope 0.7 support is also on its way. Also, when playing in the Vanilla version, on the spawn screen the Sniper kit has been replaced by an alternate assault kit with a SMG (Thompson or MP40) replacing the standard weapon. However, Scout kits can still be picked up from around the map. And one last thing. The M8 Greyhound. It was in the Secret Weapons map Raid on Agheila as a special vehicle. It was fast, lightly armoured, and had a fast-firing, low powered cannon. I needed a nice light tank for the SW version and the Greyhound fit the role perfectly. The model and most of the coding is by DICE, but I did do a slight reskin to change the desert tan colour to a more appropriate greenish colour, and had to recode the AI for it a lot as they were treating it like a jeep.

Every weapons and every vehicles are the same that in Battlefield 1942 or they were taken in different mods with their agreement. Some vehicles of Battlefield 1942 have been modified by HeRbE and Naimbus. During the development many tests have been made and they showed that nobody can cheat and pass one race.

It's a modded version of DC Basrahs Edge ... but with 2 MASSIVE jumps, 2 MASSIVE tall towers, loads more vehicles, all car like vehicles have rocket speed (similar to nitro), pickups and ladas have carbombs.. Plays in conquest (though you probably wont want to be bothering yourselves with playing it like conquest.
Loads of customised skins in this map... from uniforms to vehicles and lots more. Also includes no stingers and no parachutes... axis pickups and ladas have carbombs, allies have a \'supertanker\' almost indistructable - but has massive explosive radius when it blows.

Transportation is key to this wide map, since there are bases spread out among the tall skyscraping mountains.The longer you play the more secret areas you may find throughout this map. Even though there are 6 different spawn points the secret mountain contains the most overall power; since it holds helos and a Warthog. "Fort cLA" is basically built to hold off enemy forces at a very high standard; almost as if it were a prison. There is also a mid-size city called the "twisted village" which has AA-guns and transportation. Last but not least there is a tremendously long bridge which is located at the top of the map. This map was made to show how skilled of a player you are and just to have a good time...see you on the battlefield!

problem when trying to manually switch to vanilla DC converted maps when using DC .7. Most people are getting a \"game mode not supported\". This fixes all of the vanilla and stock DC maps in DC .7. There are 2 fixes one for windows dedicated servers and one for linux dedicated servers. They both contain the exact same fix just one is zipped the other is tarballed and gzipped. details: 1. Only the Germans have a permanent base 2. The game starts with 5 flags under American control, 1 neutral flag, and 1 uncapturable German flag. 3. There is a Gazala-style neutral airfield in the SW corner of the map, accessible by both sides. 4. The Americans begin with a ticket advantage over the Germans of (about) 1.15:1, something like that. 5. The German ticket bleed will begin when the Americans control ALL 6 capturable flags. 6. The American ticket bleed will begin when the Germans control 5 of 6 flags. A few hints (Americans): 1. Use the many defguns early in the game to prevent capture of the most strategic bases. 2. Mine the many choke points before the Germans arrive. 3. AA is located in only 3 of the 6 bases, but it can be devastating. 4. Try to contain the Germans in the city if they make it that far. They will lose if they don\'t take more flags. 5. Use jeeps to your advantage, moving quickly between bases to fill in the gaps. 6. Take a jeep to the neutral airfield at the begining of the game. A few hints (Germans): 1. A coordinated attack is much more effective, as the bases are heavily defended 2. While you have far more armor than the allies, tanks will NOT reign supreme if used unwisely. 3. Use tanks in conjunction with air or infantry support. That is a must. 4. between Germany and Belgium and is about 10 by 20 miles. The Siegfried Line passes through the forest along the German border. The Siegfried Line is composed of 2 belts of fortifications, the Scharnhorst Line and Schill Line, which together make up the Siegfried Line. A total of 5 US infantry divisions, 2nd Ranger Battalion, elements of the 5th armored division and few other units such as the 1171st Engineer Combat Group participated on the American side. Opposing them were four German divisions, the 116th Panzer division and parts of the 12th and 272nd Volksgrenadier divisions. The trees in the forest were so close together as to prevent all travel by vehicles except on the narrow roads. The roads and many parts of the forest itself were filled with hundreds of anti-tank and anti-personnel mines. Adding to this, the weather during most of the battle was rain or snow, turning the roads into mud which caused supply problems. In addition, the weather prevented the US from using the Airforce in support. The rain and snow made life miserable for those on the ground. Many did not have proper winter equipment. Foxholes and bunkers filled with water. Thousands on each side had to be evacuated for trench foot. Because the trees were so thick, men lived in perpetual twilight. The German and American lines were so close that opposing positions were often in grenade range of each other. It was very easy to get lost in the forest because the only thing you could see in any direction was trees. From the axis base camp fires and burning street lamps to the sounds of Hitler's impassioned speeches on the radio, there is enough detail here to impress for many bloody rounds of combat. Great lighting effects, new sky textures, new building skins (inside and out) and what appear to be some new house models are just some of the features within. The train station is a particularly nice touch and capturing some of the CP's will be difficult without falling to your death. I was a bit disappointed in the ground textures themselves as they seem a bit drab, but it is really only noticable from the air. Active 9's attention to ambient effects and visual details sets them apart from the average mapper. They keep getting better and better. I highly recommend the download.

It features Jeeps and Willys with mounted (3rd seat) machine guns and as the read me says, exploding bridges. You can actually detonate (and repair) the stone bridges linking different areas of the map. I am very impressed with the coding Pitmatic used. The bridges look just like normal ones (unitl you pepper it with expacks and it begins smoking) and the detonation effects are very good. It could use some more flying debris but all in all it's impressive. It would look a little better if the wreck model for the bridges had jagged "destroyed" ends after detonation (they are pretty much smooth) at the bridge edges. Some other intresting goodies include a submarine pen with custom skins on the subs and various audio bits around certain objects. I'll let you figure out where they are. My only gripe is with the map layout itself. It has some cool areas such as the old train yard and piers jutting out into the sea, but given the flag layout some of these places won't see much action and the scenary may be wasted. Overall a good map. Even if you don't like playing custom maps, the exploding bridges alone make it worth the download. Good job PItmatic.

It is a mix between open terrain and Berlin-style fighting because of the cities. The terrain in the map is rough and shaped so that a good sniper will be in heaven, but any other class can hide just by proning anywhere in the terrain. The terrain also makes room for a lot of ambush points in the map, and the mix between the smooth roads and the rough terrain gives the vehicles their real roles. Jeeps drive shitty in the terrain, while tanks and APCs can drive up the mountain if they wish to. All classes and vehicles have very separate advantages in this map. Except for the harbor, the whole island is shallow around the shores. The naval has to battle it out on the sea or around the harbor, like they have to do in real life. The only way for the ships to kill a target on shore is by snipers giving them artillery targets.[/quote]

In the latter action, on 8 May 1942, Shokaku was seriously damaged by dive bombers from USS Yorktown (CV-5) and had to return to Japan for repairs. a WIDE variety of tunics, shirts, knickers in an even wider range of tints! The tunics were either olive-drab/grey (yet, NOT feldgrau) dark yellow, or tan / beige. On some wartime color pictures (like the one included in my \"DAK Documents.jpg\" file) one can notice that there are barely two identical uniforms!!! So, for camo/tactical reasons, I decided to go for a \"sand\" colored bluse. It is by far a wiser choice than EA/DICE incredible \"fluo\" green tunic (it is. IMHO, their WORST uniform ever, by the way!) My tunic is featuring FLAT pockets, 1 1/2 the size of regular pockets. Dark yellow trousers were definitely a standard (if not the sole, at least, the main) and there was no hesitation in picking up that color (EVEN EA knew that *lol*). I\'ve working a lot with brightness contrast effect (and 45 minutes with Photoshop\'s airbrushes!) to get them a baggy look. B) OPEN COLLAR TUNIC A standard for the Afrika Korp, the Luftwaffe infantery and some of the troops based in Italy. EA\'s automatic features were bypassed by transforming the usual TUNIC collar into a SHIRT collar, with satisfying results.(just like I did with my DAS REICH late war Uniform V 1.0) C) KNEE HIGH LACED BOOTS SPECIFIC to the DAK, it existed in a ankle boot version. Careful though, to balance out the devastation small firearms will do some damage to the vehicle and tank shells will pretty much rip you apart with one shot. Strategic use of this M3-AA gun is your best bet, going Rambo on an enemy base isn't. :p Note: While this is classed as a single player mod, it should be possible to play online with it installed as long as the server has the same mod files.

on it. I had luck this time. The concept of this map is basically a hill with a spiral roads. 4 capturable CP-s with plenty of armour. When you are at Allies side its quite though to get uphill so i recommend You to set the team ratio to normal or easy. Vehicle respawn rate is very low so be careful. For the Megadeth signs, they are my favourite band and IÂ´m trying to advertise them as much as i can. I hope You can find it enjoyable.

I also changed the sights on the thompson and made them more wider, because the ones before in the original BF1942 were horrible!!!. transfered it onto my MAC. Then, when I put the BF1942 disk into the MAC, I made a copy of the BF1942 file folder, (because the disk has the data on it and you cannot insert files), onto my desktop. Then, I put the FH folder in my mods folder inside the BF1942 folder and the instead of clicking the icon when you insert the disk, click the icon in the BF1942 that you copied.[/quote] The maker has also stated his intention to eventually make a tutorial.
