The story line below is to try and explain how USMC and MEC forces are fighting in Russia :) . In 2007 WW3 broke out, with MEC and PLA force combining to attack areas in Africa, Asia, Russia and Europe. Russia was easily defeated and the MEC took control of western Russia and then pushed into Europe. After finally recovering from the intial suprise, NATO forces, including USMC troops, have counter-attacked in Europe and pushed the MEC troops well back into Russia. But now the offensive has slowed down and they must try and cross the mighty Volga river. USMC troops have been ordered to capture the city of Volgograd, once named Stalingrad, to secure a way across the river and to regain momentum. MEC forces have been told to hold the city so a new offensive can be mounted from it. Once again, as it did in WW2, the city plays host to a battle that could very well decide the outcome of the entire war. The map features a lot of capture points; 15 on 64 players. However, 4 of these have no strategic value and serve as reinforcing bases. 32 players has 3 reinforcing bases.
