Americans have one Jeep (M.U.T.T.) and the Viet Cong have s BTR. Three control points on this map, all of them can be captured. There is a problem on this map where there is one unwanted spawn point which the maker doesn't know how to fix. If you know how, please [b] be helpful and give them some advice. AI Enhancement Mod v1.0
name suggests, this mod breathes new life into the somewhat dimwitted BFV "stock-bots", and turns them into psychotic manical killers. Literally. Skim down to the bottom of the readme provided to see just what they can now do. But not only have I totally beefed up the AI, I've also made changes to other things in the game, such as weapon recoil, kit modifications, vehicle enhancements and much, much more. Again, refer to the readme for what exactly has been done. But i must worn you, the bots are no longer pushovers. They will snipe, shoot, knife and blow up all enemies in their path. Originally, this mod was just for my own enjoyment. It wasn't intentional, I changed one number without knowing it, then noticing the changes in game. This grabbed my attention and I explored the game files...nearly a year later the mod's ready. Though I've put everything I could into it, there are some other things that I couldn't quiet figure out yet, so when I do, that'll be in a patch or update.
Hastings Surrounded
Hastings. The US team holds only the Temple control point and must fight their way through the NVA, who own all but one of the control points around the Temple. The choppers and planes have been removed from this map, but tanks and boats remain. I started out as the US team in Coop and captured the neutral point near the temple. No sign of NVA...then I got picked off by a very well-aimed tank shell across the river. I messed around a bit with the good ol\' M-14, then switched teams to NVA and had a look at what we got. I\'ll say that it\'s a long walk from the former NVA base to the Temple :p Probably a good idea would have been to fiddle around with the out-of-bounds areas as well and have the temple surrounded by NVA positions, and leave the old airfields in an out-of-bounds area. The action would then be more concentrated around the temple, instead of having all the space out in the open that\'s most likely not going to be used if you want the fight around the temple. But then that\'d require a fair bit of work on the original Hastings map, working on not only the objects but the terrain and textures as well. A nice point of this map is that it\'s seperate from the stock Operation Hastings, so you can still play the old Hastings online, but this map is coded to use some of the more hefty files (mostly terrain textures) from the original map. This means they don\'t need to be included in the remake and cuts the file size down by about 30MB. The only slight downside is that if you happen to have deleted the old Operation Hastings, this rehash won\'t work. However I seriously doubt you\'ll have deleted the old Hastings so that\'s ok. :) The only problems the map had was that the undergrowth (i.e the grass and small plants) wasn\'t there, probably because of a coding mistake that meant the map was looking somewhere other than the original Hastings or the remake. So there\'s no grass on the ground. The loading screen for BFV Arsenal was slightly off too, but that\'s not a life-threatening problem either. All in all, a nice remake. Works well, which is always good - the grass just needs some fixing and editing the out-of-bounds areas and control point locations to concentrate the action around the temple a bit more would be excellent.

BattleField Destrucktion v.5 (BFD .5)
pack you cannot use the custom motorcycle vehicle. You cannot see the nametags of your friendlies when they are controlling a vehicle unless you look strait down. US Mortar Engineer bots now use the M19 pistol as their main weapon. US Mortar Engineers can build sandbag emplacements. They can pick them up again by pressing \'G\'. The M14 has been removed from sandbag engineer kits. NVA/Vietcong Bunker/Shovel Engineer can build a bunker that has a built-in MG position. The engineer can take the bunker later by pressing \'G\' M46 now fires Mini-Nukes. A miniature version of the Corsair nuke. US has engineers dirtbike available in custom BFD maps. (BFD MAP PACK SEPERATE) Dirtbike has machineguns (primary) and smoke bombs (secondary). You can now airlift the dirtbike and SAM trucks. Chinook has a dropping rear gate. Passenger in position 5 can use the up and down keys to open the rear gate. Chinook exit locations are more realistic. Pilots exit inside of the chopper and must jump out the back hatch. Any crew will be trapped inside the chinook unless the rear hatch is opened. (also helps to discourage solo pilots since its harder to survive a fall) US blowtorch in engineer kits are now replaced with a portable Emplaced MG Weapon. Sorry, I personally found the blowtorch weapon a bit useless. Each MG engineer can place 2 Emplaced MG\'s and they can also pick them up later by pressing \'G\'. ( so you can loan one to a friend/bot to use :) Flare gun now causes direct damage, and can be lethal. (preview of Flare damage is flaredeath.gif -> just drop into a browser.) Flare gun now has a much brighter and larger flare effect. Aircraft Pilot seats now eject you above the plane. Added Co-Pilot to the Phantom and Corsair. Phantom Co-Pilot fires Napalm, Pilot now carpet fires Agent-O bombs. Corsair Pilot can drop a single but devestating Nuke. Co-Pilot can drop standard bombs and also has autocannons. (preview of big Nuke is nukeanim.gif -> just drop into a browser.) Fixed vehicle network files in new weapons for future online play. Fixed ANNOYING looping issue with napalm bombs. Kit weapon names have been fixed. They displayed the wrong weapon name before. Handweapons firing AA rounds have a more drastic deviance when firing. Makes it harder to hit targets from a distance. Added serverInfo icon.

Defense of Con Thien Bot Support Patch (Reviewed)

BUT, If you play Defense of Con Thien online with other players, after you loaded the map and want to play, a error will come and say 'DATA DIFFERS FROM SERVER'. To play the map again, remove the Defence_of_Con_Thien_001.rfa file from the levels folder. nimitz have the modern handweapons, uniforms and Planes. The Jets are only on the nimitz avaible, if the nimitztroups capture the iland, so they get only the old us_vehicles! The japanese Soldiers are very powerfull with the old handweapons!

this time due to severe fog and low cloud cover. The U.S. team is on their own. There are no helicopters, there are no wheeled vehicles for this battle. Chainsaw crews are working the 50 miles of road now blocked by hundreds of trees. The VC are approaching....can you control the island? Map has unique vegetation and layout, not your typical BFV map. Map has been sniper approved in that most of the terrain does not dissapear at 50 yards, leaving snipers vulnerable like in other maps.
POE Battle for Haiya
therein are vital to the success of their campaigns. The Army that controls Haiya, controls the flow of weapons and supplies to the soldiers that need them at the front, and ultimately the tempo of the war. US Forces must secure tactical areas within the city. Capturing the main Haiya train depot will allow for deployment of re-enforcements at the electric plant. Capturing the Downtown Haiya area will allow for re-enforcements at the city ruins. Nuetralize any hostiles with extreme prejudice. Resistance is expected to be light.
THE BRIDGE 1.2
secondary flags. Who own 4 of 6 secodnary flags makes enemy BOTs decrease. Vietcong can count on several respawning ditches nearby their main base while both teams can use a lot of land , water and air vehicles. All new 1.2 patch vehicles are included! There is a flag under a bridge in a canyon and it\'s for an half in the water so it can be owned or by a boat or passing by twice with an airplane or with an helicopter. Flag conversiont time is set to 2 seconds so it can be owned rapidly but be careful with plane because you have to pass very near to the water, while with an helicopter you can risk to met a an enemy plane in the canyon. A control point is called Swamp and is is nearby US base , while the other 4 control points are near each other (about 200 meters) so who likes playing infantry can play in the center of the map while pilots can fight to own the SW bridge or the Swamp. I enjoyed a lot doing this map , thx to E.A. and Dice for this editor.

point is on another island that is the Us base. The us start out with 5 huey helecopters, 1 cobra, and 2 phantoms. The nva start out with 3 sherman tanks, 3 jeeps, 1 mi8 transport and 1 mi attack choper. There is another island of the coast of the main island with 3 phantoms on it. There is also a river that runs through the main island. There are 4 boats you can use in this map.

several air vehicles, AA tanks, boats, cannons and a Vespa. The US marines have a small island in the ocean near the Vietnamese beaches. They got several air vehicles and boats. Their mission is to attack the beaches and take the villages.The VC have got 3 spawnpoints in the beginning of the game, they must try not to lose any of their spawnpoints. The main Village is really hard to conquer, and easy for the VC to defend, keep that in mind.

fun. some of what to come. FEATURES Here are the initial features and ideas for Insurrection 1776. We are in the process of deciding which features we\'d like to include in the first release. We\'re focusing mostly on inserting the Officer class and the morale system. Officers with NPC Soldiers – The most prevalent feature of this modification is the addition of the Officer class on the British team. This class commands 3-6 AI controlled soldiers. This will allow the British team to have the advantage of numbers, even though both teams will usually have the same number of players. The AI soldiers will march in whatever formation is specified by the officer and will attack wherever the officer directs them to. These AI soldiers have the same stats as the British Soldier class and have their own health and stamina. If the Officer is killed, they will react randomly, but after about 20 seconds they will die in order to prevent too many AI bots from being in the server at once. The total number of Officers allowed in the game at once will be limited, but this should only affect large games in order to prevent huge numbers of player models from being in the same place, causing lag for players with lower end machines. Enhanced locational damage effects – If a player is hit in the leg and survives, they will limp and move at about a third of their normal speed. If they are hit in the arm and survive, their aiming ability will be decreased greatly. If they are hit in the chest and survive, (which is pretty rare, only with low-damage weapons like pistols) they will suffer both decreased speed and accuracy. If the player is hit anywhere, their morale boosts will disappear. All of these effects will be negated if the player uses their bandage. Bandages – Each player gets one bandage item in addition to their regular gear. It recovers about 50% of their total health in addition to negating any wound effects. Bandage takes about 5 seconds to apply, during which time you cannot use a weapon or move, preventing it from being used in the heat of battle. Stamina and Charging – Each player has a stamina level and a “charge” ability. When using charge, they will move at high speed across the battlefield, but will be unable to fire guns (though they can still use melee weapons). Units using artillery cannot charge. Charging drains the stamina bar, and when it is empty, the player will go back to normal speed until the bar recharges. Each class has a unique amount of stamina. When stamina is low, marching speed will be lower, so no more or less ground is gained by using a charge just for transportation. This will keep units with higher stamina from getting ahead of their teammates in the long run. Morale – Each player has a morale level, represented by a bar on the screen. Each time the player kills an enemy, they gain a temporary morale boost. Morale increases the accuracy of a player’s shooting, the reloading speed of their guns, and the attack speed of their melee weapons. It also decreases the stamina drain when charging. There are other ways to raise morale as well, such as being near the flag carrier or using a battle cry. These boosts are not temporary, so long as they remain within the correct sphere of influence. If you have no morale boosts, one-shot kills will usually only occur with a headshot, which will be very hard to get without any accuracy boosts. Battle cry – Each player has a battle cry ability. It causes the player to shout wildly, giving a slight morale bonus to himself and those around him, raising their combat capabilities. Can only be used once every few minutes. Many battle cries stacked together from a close-knit group will be very effective. Add a drummer/fife player and your battle abilities increased by huge factors. This is another ability that will encourage teams to stick together. Cannot give battle cry while using artillery. Flag carrier – Each team has a “flag carrier” class: drummer for the British, fife player for the colonists, who carries the flag of their team. Each team is only allowed one flag carrier at a time. Only flag carriers can claim spawn points. In addition, all players within a certain radius of the flag carriers get a significant morale boost, encouraging them to stick together. Marching speed – All players, both infantry and artillery, have the same walking speed, even though their charge might last longer due to different stamina amounts. This will encourage teamwork further by allowing everyone to keep up without slower classes lagging behind. Players who spawn together should arrive at the front lines together. CLASSES British Infantry Units – British infantry units are less effective than colonial infantry units, except the flag carriers, who are equal on either team. They make up for this with the Officer class, who commands a group of NPC soldiers to fight for him. British infantry can crouch but not go prone. Drummer · Description – The flag carrier, used as a rallying point for all other units. Constantly plays a drum. · Weapon(s) – Flag, Pistol · Ammo – None · Model – Well-dressed soldier playing a drum with a British flag strapped to his back. Charge animation shows him waving flag wildly. · Stamina – Average · Special abilities – Only flag carriers can claim spawn points in conquest maps. All units within a certain radius of the flag carrier will receive a high morale bonus, encouraging teams to work in units. Flag carriers get more battle cries than any other unit. Officer · Description - The main class for the British team. The officer will command a group of NPCs so that the game will have the feel of large-scale battles instead of small skirmishes. While it may seem that a single officer class is as powerful as a large group of players, the officer’s effectiveness will be limited, the NPCs only following strict orders requiring commands from the officer. Only skillful officers will be effective in battle. · Weapon(s) – Pistol, Cutlass (secondary mode commands NPC troops), Looking glass · Ammo – Low · Model – Well-dressed wearing an decorated officer’s uniform and hat · Stamina – Average · Special abilities – Commands 3-6 NPC soldier units who will fire wherever officer points (using secondary fire of the sword). While the AI soldier’s firing is controlled directly by where the officer points his sword, a bayonet charge gives a little more freedom to the soldiers, allowing them to attack with their bayonets of their own free will any targets within a certain range. Each NPC soldier has its own health and stamina. If one is killed, it stays that way until the officer respawns. Alternate commands include advancing to an area (also specified by the sword), bayonet charges (drains stamina of NPCs), holding position and possibly other commands. If the officer is killed, the NPCs have a random chance of doing the following: 1. Breaking ranks and attacking wildly at their own will, 2. Retreating and running away from all fights, or 3. Blind bayonet charge. All of these attacks will be much less effective than when under command of an officer, and after about 20-30 seconds, the NPCs will die if they haven’t been killed already. The officer will usually want to keep the soldiers in front of him (default formation.) Soldier · Description – The standard fighter, for those who don’t feel like commanding NPCs. This is the class of NPCs commanded by officers. · Weapon(s) – Musket (with bayonet), 2 grenades · Ammo – High · Model – Standard British uniform. March animation shows rifle shouldered, charge shows it held with bayonet pointed towards enemy. · Stamina – Medium · Special abilities – None Colonists Infantry Units – All colonist infantry units (except flag carrier) are better than the British. However, no colonist classes have NPC soldiers to fight for them, so they must use guerilla tactics in order to stand a chance against the British team’s superior numbers. Saboteur · Description – A useful class when commanded by a skilled player that can potentially wipe out large numbers of the enemy ranks. · Weapon(s) – Blunderbuss, knife, 3 powder kegs, 3 grenades · Ammo – Medium · Model – Standard colonial garb · Stamina – Low · Special abilities – The saboteur’s powder kegs can be dropped anywhere with any length of fuse from 10 to 90 seconds. When the powder keg explodes, it deals very high damage to anything within a fairly large radius, killing all units except those on the outer edge of the blast radius. The minimum 10 second fuse should prevent players from pulling “kamikaze” attacks, and instead force them to take the keg’s placement into account, trying to find a semi-hidden spot that the enemy will most likely walk over at the same time that the keg explodes. Pistolman · Description – The only fast-hitting class, deadly at close range, worthless at long range. · Weapon(s) – Two pistols, Cutlass, 2 grenades, Looking glass · Ammo – High · Model – Swashbuckler garb · Stamina – High · Special abilities – Reloading takes longer because it reloads both pistols at once, meaning that if you intend to charge a group of enemies head-on, you only have two shots to do it with before you have to resort to melee combat. How to add your own loading screen
a blank 800x600 image. Now you can create your own loadscreen, or use Photoshop\'s features to import one of your own. (I use in-game screenshots as they are allready tga format). When you are all finished, be sure to click \'Layer\' , \'Flatten Image\' then save the image on your desktop as LoadScreen.tga. It shouldn\'t ask you to change formats, but if it does, make sure to save it as TGA (Targa) at 24 bits/pixel. Step 2: Launch Battlecraft and open your map for editing. Click \'Tools\', \'CON File Editor\' and open menu/init.con Paste this into your Init.con, over top any existing parts that you see that match. Game.setLocalized 1 game.setLoadPicture ../../BfVietnam/levels/YourMapNameHere/Menu/LoadScreen.tga game.setMapId \"bfvietnam\" Be sure to change the part of: YourMapNameHere, to your map name. Step 3: Now its time to import this into Battlecraft. So fire up Battlecraft. Click \'Tools\', \'Add File To Archive\' This will open a dialogue box with 2 path boxes. Click on the \'Import\' button to the right of the first box, then browse to your desktop and select your LoadScreen.tga file, then click \'Open\'. Fort Nomad
know to take the base. The NV have lots of heavy armour and sampangs as well as well dug in jungle bases with tunnel spawns. The US have mostly aircraft and artillery to guard the road to thefort but maybe liable to a spy slipping in the back! The jungle village and paddy fields are open for the taker. If the US> take these it can affect the NV trapsand Sampang spawns. This map is ideally suited to clans and large multiplayers who want a long battle with the NV doing what the NV are best and the US flying round shooting anything that moves!
Hamburger Hill
Airborne, the highest ranked soldier in the American Air Force, come in first to take them out from the ground. The NVA troops have have dug out n a hill that is along the the border between north and south Vietnam. All the trees have been burned down, so the hill is clear. The American Forces have been sent in to take out the rest of the Vietnamese that are holding out!

Gridlock Vietnam Beta
yet. The gameplay feels more like Team Deathmatch, but there are six capturable bases. Two on the US side, Two on the NVA side, and two in between the NVA and US Side of the map. Use of cover is necessary in this map. Don't just walk out into the street. Try and stay hidden. Otherwise, someone will spot you easily and kill you.
Trails
vehicles. You would need an engineer in your team because the vehicles will break themselves very fast. It can also be a great Sniping map where you would have to hold most of the middle land.

Shotgun Arena Knife & Shotgun
Now, however, I've worked around the problem and present to you a small map patch that gives everybody in the map a shotgun kit. The kits consist of: US: Knife Flaregun Mossberg 500 NVA: Machete Flaregun Mossberg 500 No matter what kit you select on the spawn screen, you will get the same kit. It only differs between teams. I chucked the Flaregun in just for the hell of it, it's only useful in Arsenal Mod because it kills people with a direct hit. There's a new dropping kit for the NVA because it looked stupid having them drop kits with American helmets on top. So now you'll get the straw hat with a Mossberg hanging under it. The Mossberg is missing the pump...but...who cares. It's only a kit model.
Shooting Range
places in order to use by shooting at targets, may be used as a transportation device. You will find some vehicles in the T&C (Tank & Chopper) shooting field, those vc\'s are your targets, also some destroyed wooden buildings. The map\'s teams are Vietcong vs US MACVSOG. The shooting range is placed at the US Marines CP (Control Point). Accidentally chose the Vietcong team? Don\'t worry, you have a chopper waiting, fly to the US team!
Deathmatch Mod

Shotgun Arena
Arena\', I was planning to have shotgun-and-knife-only kits in an enclosed map, but somewhere along the way the idea kinda got lost. This map focuses purely on close-quarters infantry combat, so the Mossberg shotty dominates all. The MAT-49 is pretty good too, and the AK-47 is awesome in this environment. Nothing beats the machete though :P You\'ve got four control points arranged in more or less a square shape that are neutral, and two outlying start points (they aren\'t CPs, just spawn points). The four neutral points are around a bombed-out village, so you\'ll be finding your way through the buildings to pop a couple of heads off if someone doesn\'t get you first. Holding all four of the CPs will trigger ticket bleed, and be warned - if you lose your starting base, you won\'t be able to respawn. SP support is included, and when you\'re playing on a coop server with only 30 bots set on 100% difficulty the action becomes insane. There\'s also support for Odanan\'s BFV Arsenal mod. This makes it really, really, fun, with the different weapons and kits. When playing you might want to hit your N key to zoom the minimap in because it\'s tiny.

special forces) start with a base with 3 transport hueys and 7 PBR boats. there is also a Com tower (spawn tower) on the closest moantain and can be destroyed by the VC. the there are 3 Us flags with allow the us to spawn high in the air and reach those high (sniper) towers. *the VC starts with 1 flag very high on a mauntain that can be reached by only one road. the mauntain is surounded with 5 towers and a wall with a small entrance for vehiles (**secret hol in wall, for infantry**). the entrance is covert with 2 cannons (watch out US) and they get 1 AA vehicle and 4 transport vehicles (they can float). they also get 3 spawn hols the can be found right before the middle tower against the wall. there is also a hided VC attack heli (keep in mind if its shot it stays shot, comes 1ns per game)
Riverside Village
action is meant to take place. There are four control points within the fishing village, and a fifth control point at the Temple Ruins. When one team controls either all four Village control points, OR any two Village control points and the Temple Ruins control point, ticket bleed for the opposing team will commence. Spawning within the village is not possible except by means of mobile spawn points (one is provided for each team.) The US side will need to airlift their land vehicles over to the mainland if they intend on using said vehicles for capture/defense purposes. There is a small clearing to the East of the Eastern-most control point for the village that is meant to be used as a staging area for the US troops (Vehicles may be airlifted to this area, as well as troops.) There is also a secondary clearing that can be used as a staging area by US troops, that is located to the SouthWest of the Southern-most control point for the village.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know I found a bug with my mod. I don't think it will affect most Multiplayer games (only COOP), because it has to do with AI for bots and the new passenger position I added to the HUEY Trans. Basically, if a bot gets into the new huey trans seat there is no way to take it from him or get him to get out. If you try to switch into his seat from another seat the game will crash.. The seat has no AI file and he will not shoot, or bail out from that position.. I found this out playing Op Irving, and the game crashed when I tried to take the seat from the bot.. LOL.. I think Irving is the only mission where the huey is automatically filled with bots at the start of the mission, so thats why I didn't have problems in operation gamewarden. In gamewarden (the level I originallly tested the mod with) the bots will should fill the new seat in the huey because they spawn to far away from it. SORRy for any inconvienence obviously, it was my first vehicle mod attempt adding a new position for a vehicle. (I think you can kill him and take his seat though.) I fixed this problem for future releases, and also found out how to get the AI to not be so stupid in the helicopters. In the next release, the copilots for both US Helis will fire upon just about ANYTHING that moves. Its really alot of fun for singleplayer, and will probly make coop more realistic, because they will use all the weapons now. I hope to add this AI to the NVA vehicles too, as well as more seats in the Assault and Huey. (they have all these empty seats. lol)

This town will be the key for all further operations in this area. Unfortunately the local Vietcong has recognized the presence of U.S. troops in the area too early. There was no time to finish the building of \'Henne airfield\', to get long-range bomber support. At the other hand the Vietcong presence is also relatively low at the moment, although reinforcements from north were spotted by recce flights. Both sides will have to capture more than half of all positions to get the chance to win... Becuase of the m60/LAW problems, I made this map so that the LAW wouldnt be so useful, and I gave the NVA the RPD. That way both teams will have just as powerful guns. The VC have superior Ground Forces.There\'s lots to see and a lot of detail, Air respawns Are far between so Hanger camping is useless, use the slicks as ferrys and repair at 1st signs of dammage. Use the oh6 as scout or you will loose them fast.

My Lai Massacre
or we will never learn from our mistakes. This map is more the \"if there really were Viet soldiers...\" version of events. This is the real history of My Lai: The objective of the American military mission was clear: search and destroy the My Lai (pronounced, somewhat ironically, \"me lie\") hamlet of Son My village in the Quang Ngai Province of South Vietnam. What wasn’t clear was what to do with any civilians who might be encountered at My Lai. When the soldiers in Charlie Company pushed into the hamlet, they expected to be locked into fierce combat with a Viet Cong battalion believed to be at My Lai. For three months the American unit had been in no major battles but had suffered a lot of casualties from snipers, mines, and booby traps. The soldiers were ready to prove themselves, ready to exact revenge on the enemy. Charlie Company met no resistance; there were no Viet Cong soldiers at My Lai. Calley then ordered the slaughter of the civilians. People were rounded up into ditches and machine-gunned. They lay five feet deep in the ditches; any survivors trying to escape were immediately shot. When Calley spotted a baby crawling away from a ditch, he grabbed her, threw her back into the ditch, and opened fire. Some of the dead were mutilated by having \"C Company\" carved into their chests; some were disemboweled. One GI would later say, \"You didn’t have to look for people to kill, they were just there. I cut their throats, cut off their hands, cut out their tongues, scalped them. I did it. A lot of people were doing it and I just followed. I just lost all sense of direction.\" Flying high above the slaughter was helicopter pilot Hugh Thompson. Sickened by what he was witnessing, Thompson set down his aircraft and began to rescue the Vietnamese survivors. he ordered his machine gunner to open fire on any American soldiers who continued to shoot villagers. In one ditch, Thompson pulled out a three-year-old child, almost smothered in blood, but not injured. After he radioed for help from other helicopters, an enraged Thompson reported to his section leader and in graphic detail told of what he had seen. Soon afterward, Charlie Company was ordered to stop killing civilians. Coverup of the massacre began immediately. Reports on the My Lai operation stated that it was a stunning combat victory against a Viet Cong stronghold. Stars and Stripes, the army newspaper, ran a feature story applauding the courage of the American soldiers who had risked their lives. Even General William Westmoreland sent a personal congratulatory note to Charlie Company. An initial investigation into My Lai was swift and definitive: My Lai was a combat operation in which twenty civilians had accidentally been killed.

that effective enough at destroying tanks. EJECTOR SEATS: All of the planes now have an ejector seat mechanism fitted to them. Now when you exit a plane you will be blasted to a safer altitude! This is much better than the climb out of plane way that BF V currently has. I also made a few changes to the flight physics along with the effects when damaged.
Hue City Tet
hides and some of the roof tops are accessible. There are lots of choke points that make Mines and booby traps more effective. A lot of Stationary Weapons make the weaker classes more attractive. No one can make his way Behind you with a long walk through the woods. Main bases are very well defended and hard to take. Mains are also far from the Action so no one really spawns at the rear. The middle flags are tight. and make for fast paced action.

Green River
1909 Map Descritpion: That\'s a medium sized map with a lot of space to fight in it. There\'s a big river in the middle that flews thru the whole map and along him there\'s only jungle on both sides. Nobody should drive alone in a boat because there\'s a lot of good places for a booby trap on the banks of the river. Both teams starts in their bases that are placed at the opposites of the map. The US team has much more aircrafts but if someone starts a plane at Vietcong side there will spawn a second plane a few seconds after. So each plane and Chopper will exist twice. In the north of the map there\'s a big swamp with a lot of fog. The Vietcong control the point at the spamps at the beginning. Beside the river is a LZ where the troops can land to get into the swamps. In south of the swamps is a little village with a control point. It\'s surrounded by jungle and offers the team that control it a good position to take the flag at the swamp. In south-east of the map there\'s a big city. You\'ll find a lot of similarities to quang tri and hue because i wanted to connect the jungle-maps with the city-maps to create a kind of map that includes both types. The US base has a lot of choppers. So you can start a big air-attack on the city if you have enough players. Known Bugs: 1.: Boats sometimes take damage in the river, so it\'s better to have always an engineer. 2.: The Tango at the lake sometimes slide into the bank of the lake. 3.: Watch out at the bridges!!! Jeeps will lose energy if you drive to fast into the ramp of the bridge. The river was called \"Green River\" by most of the Marines. A few days after they finnished the work at their base one of the reconnaissance aircrafts located a Vietcong base in the hardwood forest at tri dangh. It seemed that a confrontation was inevitably. Another photos that was took from a reconnaissance aircraft showed movements in the swamps. The US Troops had to stop the spread of the Vietcong in this area. No Single player, I do not play single player and have no interest in bots, get high-speed and play against real people like BF was designed for or go and play Medal of Honor... Design Concept: This is a small map that has a large river passing in dense jungle, there is a large fishing village built on each shore. Flag Value: Each team gets 3 flags on their respective shore. One central flag floats in the middle. To make opponent bleed 5 flags are required BUT the central flag counts for 2 flags, therefore holding your side and the middle will cause a bleed. Vehicles: US get 2 PBRs, 1 Tango and 1 APC. Viet get 1 Tank and 1 APC. Sampan boats are spread out around the village. Story: Near Cambodia, the Mekong river crosses the south end of vietnam and becomes the Mekong Delta where Operation Game Warden occured. As with Game Warden the US forces encountered resistance all over this dense jungle. This simple river crossing has become a battle for this fishing village. that effective enough at destroying tanks. EJECTOR SEATS: All of the planes now have an ejector seat mechanism fitted to them. Now when you exit a plane you will be blasted to a safer altitude! This is much better than the climb out of plane way that BF V currently has. I also made a few changes to the flight physics along with the effects when damaged. This mod is like the good old bugged BFV version 1.0, but more realistic and not many bugs!
I like the new songs at the Menu. But there is no loading songs :( you will hear NO songs while you are loading a map...
The Cobra has a new skin, i like it.. And it has like 48 rockets, without reloading! Same with the Huey Gunship, it has 20 rockets without reloading! The Mi-8 is weak against the Huey, because in seat 1 you can shoot with the rockets and with the minigun. So in this mod, don't fight with a Huey Gunship when you are in a Mi-8.
And, the the guns... The new sound with the M16, CAR-15 and the AK-74 are nice, and sounds like in the real world. The skins are also nice for the M16,CAR-15 and AK-74. The Flaregun is like in the E-Dalgo mod, made by EA games i thought.
And you can play it online, that's good... I didn't test the 3 new maps, i didn't had any more time for that.
I saw 1 bug:
At some kits is a bug, if u cycle true your weapons, you see the knife and if you chose the knife, you will get a pistol. Some kits have that.
This is just more realistic, if i play Battlefield Vietnam singleplayer, i'm going to play this mod.
Ill end this review or it's gonna be big. And i added 2 screenshots, of the new Cobra skin and M79 skin.. I could make more, but i didn't had enough time.
I'm giving this mod a 8,5 because it more realistic.

Ok, ill tell you my story about this mod!
I came on BFVFiles.com and i saw "2 new files" First i clicked the E-Dalgo mod, i saw the file size and the pictures and i thought:
"Ah, this mod wouldn't be so fun" But i must download it cauz im the file reviewer. So i downloaded it and installed it too. I loaded the map Ho Chi Minh Trail cauz in the Read me they wrote: "The XM148 Grenade Launcher only have 99 rounds, instead of 999. You'll see why if/when you play." So i spawned as CAR-15/XM148 and shoot with the Grenade Launcher... I saw 5 grenades were coming out of the weapon in 1 second... WITHOUT reloading, You'll be invinceble with that weapon, but the LAW, M79, SA-7, RPG-2 and RPG-7v has 99 ammo, but no 'automatic fire' But i played further and i owned all bots. Then i got in one of those tanks, they shoot those Missiles and the alternate fire is a flametrower, Very strong! I didn't die with the tank... Later i wanted to play a other map, the map Operation Flaming Dart.
You see all those smoke tracers of all plane and choppers, don't worry, they will disappear after a while, but is is very handy too search enemy planes, so i owned those bots again ;) And then i got the M1911 pistol... It had 999 bullets and it shoots like a M60!
If you zoom in and shoot you see the bullets. I played it like 2 hours? I stopped because i thaught about the review... And, you can't play the mod on internet or LAN, i don't know why. I wanted to play online with the mod, but you can't. And sooo much firepower and those bots, make the game very laggy. U need a good computer to play it without lags. They are going to make custom skins and textures, custom maps, fix some bugs, the networking problem. So the next version of E-Dalgo will be bigger. I'm giving it a 7,5 because it's fun and much new stuff in a small file.

does work In CTF game mode the conquest flags do not function as conquest flags they seem to operate the same as a flag cap. So we made all conqest flags un-cappable so they are just spawns. The goal of this guide is to help people have the best expierience they can while playing BFV.I've found that many people have quit this game already due to poor system performance. A new patch isn't always a safe bet either. It can make thingsworse. So I've come up with some things that can help run this game smoothly and lag free. They might not work for everybody, but for the most part, if applied correctly, you'll be able to enjoy this game to the fullest. II. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ***Straight from the box*** MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Windows 98/ME/2000/XP 933Mhz PIII or Athlon Processor 256 MB RAM 64mb DirectX9 video card Directx9 Sound card 2gb hard drive space 16X CD Rom Drive Cable, DSL or faster My suggestions to run this game decently are as follows: Windows XP 2 Ghz Processor 1 gig DDR RAM 128 MB Video Card They're pretty much the main players in perfomance, and the main things you need to pay attention to. III. THE BASICS ***All settings are based on WINDOWS XP*** Many factors contribute to slow down and lag. As the game stands right now, most of you are not having system problems, you're having server lag problems. The net code for this game at the momentis horrible. I get pings of 10 and it still lags. I know its not my computer, because I'm getting 80-90 FPS while its lagging. This is a server side issue, so make sure you know if you're lagging or slowing down. You can check your FPS(Frames Per Second), by opening the CONSOLE. This is achieved by pressing the TILDE KEY(~`). Its usually next to the 1 key. Once open, type in FPS 1. Hit enter, then the console key again. You should see your FPS in the upper left of the screen. To turn it off, repeat the steps above, but use FPS 0. Make sure you don't have a lot of programs running in the background. The most I suggest to be running would be 15. You can check to see how many you have running by opening up the TASK MANAGER. Press CTRL-ALT-DEL at the same time to bring this up. Don't just start shutting down things, as they may be vital to your system stability. I suggest going to Black Viper's(www.blackviper.com) website. This guy has taken the time to go thru WIN XP and WIN 2000, to find out what you can safely turn off in the WINDOWS SERVICES. Follow his directions, and you'll see a huge improvement in performance. Don't try to play this game on a 56K. It slows down everything. Not just for you, but the whole server. I know some people can not get cable or dsl in their town. Move to somewhere you can get it. Just kidding. If you can, I suggest getting a second hard drive, and running a dual-boot system. Install the bare minimum on it. Make it your gaming system side. Its not very hard to do and it gets the most perfomance out of your hardware. The OS isn't bogged down by extra, un-needed programs. Go to www.microsoft.com for tips on running a dual-boot system. Also, if you can afford it get more RAM. That always helps performance. Defragment! This is a very important thing to do. Files get spread all over your hard drive and in turn, degrade the performance of your machine. Run the windows defragmenting program at least once a week or after you've installed or un-installed 2 or more programs. Spy-ware can cripple a system, too. I suggest you get Ad-aware and Spy-bot. Both have free versions for download. They can remove all adware and malware from your system. Google for them! Make sure you have the latest drivers for all your hardware. They can really be a factor in performance sometimes. Drivers usually fix performance related issues. I highly recommend this step. Increasing VIRTUAL MEMORY, or the PAGEFILE size, can sometimes help out systems with lower amounts of RAM. I've read numerous articles on the subject, and found that size really does matter. LOL! I suggest making the size 3 times the amount of RAM that you have installed. So, if you have 256MB of RAM in your system, make your PAGEFILE size 768MB. If you have at least 1GB of RAM, I wouldn't even worry about this at all, since its never really a factor. Let Windows manage this or have no PAGEFILE at all. To access the PAGEFILE, go into the CONTROL PANEL and click on SYSTEM. Click the ADVANCED tab. Select the PERFORMANCE SETTINGS. Click ADVANCED. Click CHANGE under VIRTUAL MEMORY. Select CUSTOM SIZE. Plug in the numbers and click SET. I have another tweak for the PAGEFILE you can find under the ADVANCED TWEAKS of this guide. While we're there, CONTROL PANEL, SYSTEM, ADVANCED, PERFORMANCE SETTINGS, VISUAL EFFECTS. Select ADJUST FOR BEST PERFORMANCE. This can help some slow moving systems, also. IV. VIDEO SETTINGS *Make sure you have the latest patch for the game* If you're at or slightly above the system requiements, run the game at low settings. Don't try to run it medium or high. Its going to suck for you if you do. I run the game at medium and I have a fairly decent video card. If you have a Radeon 9800 or a GeForce 5950, then you can run this game at high. Everyone's system is different, so try out different settings to see what your system can do. Its not worth it to run this game at 800X600. You miss out on so many beautiful things. I wouldn't go any lower than 1024X768. You'll lose maybe 2 FPS. No big deal. Sometimes, it helps to run this game at a 60Hz refresh rate. I haven't tried it, but some people say it does wonders. Turn off AA(Antialiasing) and AF(Anisotropic Filtering) if you don't have a high end system. Especially if you have an ATI card. EA has stated this themselves. Sometimes it helps to run in 16 bit mode. Less colors, more perfomance. In the video settings uncheck shadows and lightmaps. You'll get a few more FPS without noticing any degredation in quailty. V. SOUND SETTINGS I usually turn the menu music and map loading music off. This is especially important if you do not have a lot of RAM. It seems to take up a lot of memory to produce the menu music and map loading screen music. It definetly helps perfomance to eliminate menu music. Turn your sound settings to low or medium for a perfomance increase. Use the least amount of channels that you're comfortable with. I know I need sound to play this game, so do some expirementing with sound channels. I'm not sure what OCCLUSION does. It may be what they call the DOPPLER AFFECT. Like when sound pitch changes depending on the distance it is to you. Mess with it, and see if you get any changes. Get the latest drivers for your sound card. VI. ADVANCED TWEAKS ***Use these settings at your own risk! I claim no responsibility for any damage done to your system*** First off, make back-ups of all the files we are about to go over. These are just some .con changes, I have found very useful. I use them all myself. You can find these all by following this path: by default C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield Vietnam\Mods\ BfVietnam\settings. This tweak is courtesy of GameFaqs user, APPLE PIE. I give him all the credit. Open up the DEFAULT.con file with NOTEPAD. This is susposed to make the game not lag. It is said to work, but I'm not totally convinced. It may or may not work for you. It doesn't hurt to try it. When you are thru, hit save, not save as. Open it up again to make sure it saved correctly. The next trick only works if you turn VERTICAL SYNC off. There are different ways of turn this off, depending on your video card. Check the help guides on your system for more information. Open up the VideoDefault.con file with NOTEPAD. By default it looks like this: rem * TEMP * renderer.FullScreen 1 console.showStats 0 renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0 Make it look like this: renderer.FullScreen 1 console.showStats 0 renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1 renderer.lockfps 250 Notice I've changed the allowAllRefreshRates to 1 and I added the line, renderer.lockfps 250. you don't have to put in 250, but I've found this is the best and most stable number to use. Make sure you hit save, not save as, and close the file. If that doesn't help any, you can make the VideoDefault.con look like this: renderer.FullScreen 1 renderer.fieldOfView 1 renderer.globalLodRadius 1 renderer.globalLodRadiusScaleFactor 6 console.showStats 0 renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1 renderer.useTrilinearFiltering 0 renderer.mipmapbias -3 renderer.lockfps 250 Sometimes this can lower image quality, but in cases where you can't get the game to run well at all, try the above settings. Sometimes fooling with that good old PAGEFILE can solve a lot of problems. If you're running a dual-boot system, delete it on the side of WINDOWS that is not running. For instance, if you're running WINDOWS on your C drive, delete the one on your D drive, and vice-versa. Make sure you have show hidden files and folders checked in your folder options, so you can see the PAGEFILE. Again, if you have a GB or more of RAM, I suggest having no PAGEFILE at all. If you don't like deleting things, here's another trick for clearing the PAGEFILE. Make sure you back up the REGISTRY before you do this. Type REGEDIT in the RUN box. Navigate to this point: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\ Session Manager\Memory Management Look for the registry string: ClearPagefileAtShutdown Double click it and change the value to 1. Hit OK. Restart your machine. Now the PAGEFILE will be cleared every time you shutdown or restart. Now it acts like RAM does, clearing itself, erasing any bad happenings. I must warn, that this does increase shutdown and restart times to about 40 seconds on average. VII. CONCLUSION BFV is a stellar game that should be enjoyed by everyone who plays it. EA makes it hard sometimes for us gamers, but maybe these tweaks will help you out a bit. Thank you for taking the time to read this guide. and all other land & air vehichles including staionanry weapons have increased ammo, and increased fireing rate. Some tanks also have a bigger splash damage with there rounds. Bombs and Rockets on Jets and Helis are greatly increased with slower over heats, and faster reloads. This mod is intended for fun purpose's only, and is in no way trying to be realistic. landed on a beach nearby the temple and have set up a make shift base and they are waiting for helicopter reinforcements. Forward from the US base is a foothold on the mountain with 2 naturally elevated ramps up to the temple, and behind the foothold base is a ladder leading up to the village where the temple workers stay outside the temple, which you can cross over to the main temple area via 2 rope bridges. The NVA were not expecting the quick attack on thier temple, so NVA generals sent over reinforcemnts that were in the area to secure the temple, after hearing about the US buildup of troops at the shore line. so fight go fight to the death. This is my 2nd map, my first bieng for desert combat and is called DC Heli War. i am striving to become a mapper for a gaming company. Fire Base Alpha
Marines were about to be over run by thousands of VC and NVA troops. The center of the map is a base with a barbwire fence around it and watchtowers and sandbag bunkers. Very limited vehicles on both sides. The US has a huey transport and a moble spawn, a NON-repawning Cobra, 1 tank, 3 APC's and 5 jeeps. Also I gave them some artillary to defend themselves. The VC have four spawn points, each with 1 arty and a vehicle(some 2). Any server that runs this map should set your US:VC ratio about 1:2 or 1:3 in favor of the VC seeing as how the only way the VC will win is by over running the US base. It will be a challenge as there is only one entrance in and a "semi" entrance in the rear and they are all very well defended. Better to play this map with lots of people. Vietcong have 3 bases that can be taken. The U.S. forces must drive boats or fly choppers to take the island. There are also tanks that can be airlifted over. Vietcong are equipped with artillery, AA guns, and jeeps to defend against the U.S. attack.
