Revan Dark Star Wars Hilts

revandark_starwars_hilts.zip | 7.74 MB

been redone to death, these are probably the version you\'ll want. I must say I don\'t think I\'ve seen many hilts that were done better than these. I personally can\'t see one big one that\'s missing: there\'s Yoda, Anakin, Dooku, Maul, you name it, it\'s there. I like these because they have single-player support. That means not only can you use it in multiplayer, but if you\'re one of those strange people like me that still plays single-player, you can use these sabers there as well. The shaders were done very well, also. The result is a pack of 14 beautiful-looking hilts that look great in-game and out. I\'d definitely recommend this if you\'re a hilt buff. If not, I\'d recommend it anyway. They\'re a gorgeous bunch of hilts. ~Inyri

Bleach Zanpakuto pack 1

deliver on that. Instead, you get a bunch of katana-like swords that are all similar to each other with a few slight differences, such as Kenpachi's sword, which has a broken down and jagged blade. Included are the following weapons, all in their basic form (I forget the actual name for the term):
The swords included are (In no particular order): - Kyoka Suigetsu, the sword of the main bad guy of the series, Aizen Sousuke - Shinji Hirako's unnamed sword - Haineko, the sword of Rangiku Matsumoto, the female vice-captain of 10th squad - Gamuza, the sword of the arrancar Nell Tu - Pantera, the sword of the arrancar Grimmjow Jaggerjaq - Zaraki Kenpachi's sword, with it's beaten up cutting edge and rough appearance - Suzumushi, Kaname Tousen's sword - Shinsou, Ichimaru Gin's wakizashi. - Zenbonsakura, the sword of Kuchiki Byakuya
From everything I remember and have seen, they are pretty accurate. I'm not 100% about the lengths of the blades, since blades on swords always look off to me even if they are right for some reason... Skin-wise, it's pretty simple work, but accurate to what they are supposed to be. The shaders on the weapons help take the attention away from the simple skin. Couple that with the fact that you prolly wouldn't notice while playing anyway, and you've got a pretty good sword set here. You know the drill, give it a download if you like it!

The New Revan Dark Weapons

new_revandark_weapons.zip | 13.27 MB

magnificent weapon. Of course I'm not saying the skins on these weapons are bad, I'm just saying they're simple, and that works. The beauty of these places - and hilts - comes from their shaders. With a simply shaded skin, a custom chrome shader goes a long way. That's right. It's not the ordinary Raven chrome shader. Well, actually the shader is the same, but the environment maps are custom-made to fit the style of the blades better. This produces an excellent chrome effect on the blades and hilts. This pack actually contains something I, until this very moment, thought was not possible to do in JA - a genuine glow. I'm definitely keeping this in my base folder, more to learn as a modeller than to use. Folks, this pack is very well done, both visually and technically. My hat's off to you, Revan. You are a god among mortals. Oh, in case you guys don't feel like reading the read-me (shame on you!) there are twenty-one weapons in this pack, including 4 lightsabers, 11 swords, 4 staves, 1 hammer (geez is it ever big), and one gun (a DEMP replacement). Katana Pack

katana_pack.zip | 821.34 KB

shinobigatana and shirasaya. Then, to ice the cake, we have one sword to own them all - the dual masamune. Just a shame Jedi Academy\'s saberstaff style isn\'t good for this sword. :( Anyway, the models are all constructed well enough, the skinning job is good although I suspect a little photosourcing, the swords all shine well in-game thanks to a well-done shader. There\'s new sounds, although those grate on the nerves after a while. Single-player support has been added. New hit effects have also been added, which while not realistic, I love \'em all the same - just perfect for fantasy swords, and they sort of remind me of Onimusha. A nice little touch is that the saber throw in single-player is disabled while using these swords, and you\'ll get a kick instead. This fits the whole fighting style typically used by samurai, and let\'s face it, would you throw an elegant sword like a shinobigatana around? In multi-player, the throw is still present (unfortunately). If you like katanas, this pack is for you. You can even mod the NPCs to use them for some funfunfun. Just be aware not to use these in a dark room with a high-end graphics card, max vid settings and dynamic glow. The hit effect can be... startling. ~ Kouen

Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children Mod

assetsff7ac.zip | 9.62 MB

or the other if you so desired, in addition to a new startup screen. I'll start with the new screens first of all :) Okay, so this is basically a redesign of all of JA's menu screens and whatnot. Advent Children based, they all are well made and seem to work well for their purpose, e.g. the picture of Aeris when loading an unknown map. I'd imagine this would appeal mostly to Final Fantasy fans, and others may prefer not to include this section. However you can remove it if you want, yet still keep the fantastic weapon set which is included ;) You can check out the screenshots for an example of a changed menu. Incidentally, the only one 'm not too fond of is the main menu pic - it just seems kind of dark around the buttons. Although these are the immediately obvious effects of the mod, once you start playing you'll find it's inner beauty, the weapons pack. It has a huge number of well modelled and skinned weapons, with the most famous ones such as Cloud's buster sword and Sephiroth's masamune being exceptionally detailed. Some new saber trails and slash effects seen from the preview trailers are also included, and coupled with the new sounds they look very snazzy ;) I guess, despite these classic weapons being modelled perfectly, the one I was most impressed with was the gunblade lookalike, although right now the name eludes me. This looks very impressive and seems like the hardest to model as well. If I had to choose one I didn't particularly like it would be the Alastor. Even though the sword itself is just as high-quality as the rest, the electric effects on it don't work smoothly like the other effects do. Incidentally, the old version of this pack had some conflicts with the Midgar v2 map, but the author assures us that this version has no conflicts, so if you have any old versions I advise you update to this one :) Oh, there's also a lot of blood modding here when you slash people, so here's just a forewarning if you have something against blood mods. ~Szico VII~

Sasuke Katana

low-detail weapon model, basic in construction and just as basic in the texture detailing. That\'s not to say it\'s bad, but aside from the shadowing on the blade I can see no texture detail at all. Shape-wise the model is spot on to the general design of a straight-edged Japanese weapon, not extravagant but at the same time functional. I\'d guess there\'s accuracy to the source material judging from the usage of the term \"manga\" in describing the source, and I know how much the Japanese love their black-and-white themes for these things. Simple but effective sword model. A Glock isn\'t pretty either, but it kills - and so does this sword. One more for the arsenal, eh? ~ Kouen

KotOR Sabers

kotorsabers.zip | 4.09 MB

Republic-era saber would have looked like. There are seven seperate hilts here. The KotOR hilts - Bandon, Bastila, Jolee, Juhani, Malak, Vandar, and one original design - Revan. All are properly modelled, skinned, and shadered. some hilts have variations to them. Malak has a regular and a long saber. Vandar has a regular and short saber. The general hilts aren\'t the eye-catchers though. They\'re nice enough, but sort of generic. The Revan hilt is what takes the cake. There are single and staff variants, and all are beautifully modelled and designed. The single hilt contains light and dark variants, which are essentially the same hilt, only with the design reversed. The screenshots describe that perfectly. There\'s not really much I can say on these - the screenshots say more than words ever can. This is a great hilt pack, and if you\'re looking to expand your collection, these will be a perfect fit in there. Sadly, they don\'t built-in singleplayer menu support, which would have been great. But, as it is, if you want them in SP, you\'ll have to add it in yourself. Just one warning about the Revan hilts - they are very high-poly, so you should be careful about how many are on-screen at once, lest your FPS take a nasty fall. ~ Kouen

went into these. Here\'s a little more indepth on each saber: Goldenbone: You can choose either the single saber, or staff saber for this, which is modeled after Darth Maul\'s hilt as seen in Episode 1. Obviously it is gold in color, and it shines like I would a golden saber to. Silverbone: Sister of the Goldenbone, it is the same hilt, just colored silver. This also comes with the choice of using as a single saber or staff saber. Tataku: A japanese styled saber staff. Looks like something a samurai would use... very badass looking. Diago: A reskin of the Plo Koon hilt that is available here on JK2files. Had the rounded, silvery feel to it. Saul: Modeled for the player Saul, it looks like Luke\'s saber with a few things added where the blade extends from. Immortal: A plain looking, but gold-colored saber. Pretty simple here. SithSM: Obviously a saber that is intended for sith use. Looks good, too. Saesee Tiin: This one has been posted already on jk2files, but the author was given permission to use it in this pack. Overall, this is a beautiful hilt pack. I\'d highly reccommend downloading and adding these to your collection. ~Lord Griever~

Legend of Zelda Total Conversion Weapons Pack

zelda_tc_weapons.zip | 9.2 MB

interested in counting the large number of weapons here, so take my word for it that there are a lot. Half of them were made by Antizac, renowned author of the [file=\"63486\"]Link[/file] and [file=\"72933\"]Ganondorf[/file] models, and the other half were made by Gaara_of_the_Sand. My one complaint with these swords is that they use the sword saber trail. Why the complaint, you ask, if this is the sword saber trail for swords? Well firstly, swords shouldn\'t leave a trail at all. Secondly, unless you get the length of the blade just right, the trail quickly gives away just how long or short the trail is compared to the length of the model. Thirdly... it\'s ugly. In essence, it\'s my opinion, so you can feel free to formulate your own about the trail. I didn\'t notice that any of the weapons had ghastly long or short blades, so it shouldn\'t be much of an issue. How about on to the pros? They\'re far more interesting anyway. Well woe is me, the last Zelda game I played was one of the early GB ones, so I can\'t vouch much for accuracy here. But for swords, they\'re not bad. I\'m not a fan of thick chrome shaders on swords, but I know a lot of people are, so those people will appreciate some heavy chrome effects on some of these blades. My favorite bit about this pack is that the wooden sword doesn\'t use metal sword sounds. I know it sounds trivial, but to an experienced modder it says \"Hey, I care about my mod, so I\'m not going to just let this wooden sword sound like metal!\" Caring about your mod is half the battle in making something great. Zelda fans will definitely want to give this pack a try, and make sure to give props to Gaara and Antizac, who worked together to bring you these fine blades. ~Inyri

Star Wars Galaxies Weapon Pack

weapons from the Multiplayer game Star Wars Galaxies. It contains six new weapons in all, three guns and three sabers. Players of Star Wars Galaxies will instantly recognise these weapons as you will have seen them being wielded by various different people. My favourite has got to be Light Lightning Cannon, I have always loved them in Star Wars Galaxies, I almost went Bounty Hunter just so I could use one. This is a very good pack, but there is one weapon that lets it down, the EE3 Carbine. To be honest I haven’t seen many of these in Star Wars Galaxies.
I\'m not really happy with the EE3 carbine - the model wasn\'t very good and the first person view is atrocious - but I think it looks really good from third person so I included it anyway. Keep in mind that was the first gun I ever modelled, so go easy on me ;)
Well personally I would say its good for a first attempt, about the only thing wrong is its position in first person, maybe and update for version 2 :)

Sith Saber Return

sithsabersreturnjk3.zip | 2.19 MB

out of ideas fast. So some of the sabers will be more plain then others. But then some people like the plain ones better then the complex ones. I tried to appeal to all kinds of people by making sabers that had different styles and looks. Almost all sabers are dark in color and look best with a red or blue blade in my opinion. You will see similarities from sabers that already exist. Like Exar Kun, Darth Bane, Darth Vader, The Palpatine Clones...And you will find shapes from things in the world around us. Some sabers are more menacing then others. I tried to provide the player with a range of "evilness" to choose from. There are sabers for 3 kinds of mods and such: JediMOD, ForceMOD, and AcademyMOD. So that means there double and single bladed sabers, and sabers made to be used two-at-a-time aka dual saber mods. You can tell which are which pretty much. The single bladed sabers are about regular saber length. And have an emitter on one end. The double bladed sabers are usually symetric with an emmitter housing on each end. An emmitter housing is the part that houses the saber blade emmiter. It can be decorated with spides, fins, or anything you can imagin. The double bladed sabers are usually longer then single bladed sabers. Then there are the dual sabers which are made for one hand. Some will be shorter then the single and double bladed sabers, but may be both single or double bladed.
It is rather an amazing pack, such variety that everyone should be able to find something to their taste. There are plain blades in here for those who like simplicity, then there are blades that look like somthing you'd see in an S&M shop! The blades are majorly black and grey in color but of course have variety, there is even one with that looks like wood as the handle, how very different! There are so many blades here I think you can forgive the guy for not including custom sounds, it would be a nice touch but after all this modelling, it's not something to worry about! I await the first person saying the entire pack is bad...there really should be something for everyone here! -WadeV1589-

swords, there are several axes, a warhammer, and a mace! The swords are done nicely, and the other weapons are done nicely as well. But while testing the warhammer, I noticed that the head of the hammer didn't quite hit the ground with the hitting edge parallel to the ground. It was at an angle, but it wasn't that big of a deal. I was also thinking: "Big heavy object...Lots of damage!". Alas. They all deal the same amount of damage as a regular saber. Also, the speed of the warhammer wasn't slowed down to what you would expect. Other than that, it was a great weapons pack! Force Sabers

force_sabers_pack.zip | 2.5 MB

shaders! Okay, so I might put a little more emphasis on shaders than some folks, but I do think they're important, especially with weapons that are supposed to be made of metal. In this back, we have three weapons: the boomer, the tilted saber, and the crystal saber. The boomer I find to be the most creative, but also the ugliest. However the creativity really makes up for most of the poor skinning. It looks like a bow, but you hold it at the center and the "string" is really the saber blade. The author has perfectly sized the blade so it looks more like a cheese slicer than a lightsaber. And I do mean that in a good way. Check out the screenshots if you aren't quite getting my analogy. My next favorite is the crystal saber. The skin on this saber is very average - not incredibly exciting, but not bad either. The real treat is in the shader. The end of the saber is given a crystal shader, so it's semi-transparent, and on top of that it has a nice blue pulsating effect that matches well with the blue crystal. The last saber, the tilted saber, simply has the blades tilted at about a 45 degree angle. It's a very typical-type saber... minus the tilty blades, of course. My suggestions would be the following: -Work on your skinning. Your hilts are good, but good skinning will make them even better. -Keep the creativity! It'll set you apart from the rest. -Work some more detail into your hilts. Take some of those wasted polies in the extra sides that you don't need for the cylinders and put them toward some extra detail in the hilt itself. There are also a couple "bonuses" I didn't mention, but in the spirit of the word "bonus" I'm going to leave you guys to find out for yourselves ;) ~Inyri

Demonic Weapons

demonicweapons.zip | 1014.6 KB

whacked-out lightsaber crystal... So five weapons, the sword, the drill-bit gauntlet, the impaley-spikey gauntlet, the battery-powered pizza cutters and the Lady Deathstrike claws. What's so special about them then? They're well-made and fairly stylish, and that's something. They're also not the exact kind of thing we usually get, even though they're not particularly creative (black + red + pentagram = demonic, for instance). Surely we can forgive Sithmaster555 for playing off a trope, though. Somewhat similar to Daedric themes encountered throughout the Elder Scrolls mythos, these weapons consist of physical components made out of obsidian, with stylised molten pointy bits which may be steel or may, in fact, be hardened lava. Bugger knows. Moving past the obvious, there are no actual errors with the file so all is good, the weapons aren't perfectly balanced against 'traditional' weapons but they do appear to be suitably balanced for actual usage, and aside from the shaders occasionally looking dodgy (and not looking too good without dynamic glow) these are pretty much par for the course with Sithmaster. Do so wish that just once, one person would break away from the misconceptions of blacks, reds and pentagrams adding up to demonic/satanic, though. Just once, to show that it is possible. Hey, come to think of it, maybe using those elements without invoking any tropes would be a good challenge for Sithmaster's next project! :p -Mikouen

JA Swords Pack [1st release]

ja_swords_pack1st_release.zip | 11.97 MB

fantasies =_> like talking in third person. Composed in this pack are 26 weapons. Rather than go through all 26, I will do the reasonable thing and abridge Mr. review, using maybe a few for reference. Overall, the weapon categories can be easily divided into light-arms, saber hilts, and ....giant-arms. The biggest irk in this pack for me had to be the use of enormous swords. Granted, some merited their size, I.E. The sword of Giants was not intended for midgets, or giant midgets for that matter. Regardless, some of these weapons seemed overly scaled, examples being perhaps the bat blade. Others, like perhaps the demon Zariche weapon, felt a little small. The rapiers seemed the least affected by scaling. I guess the only other irk would be the idle stance, as few people would dare stand in a stance with their sword by their side, ready to take any goring that Averus would give them. This is heresy on so many levels that I would cane the author if I had the option. However, the pack goes uphill from there. Yes, didn't think I was going to say anything good, DID YOU, MASSES?! Well, suffice to say, the majority of the weapons were excellently modeled and skinned, and all deserve some serious applause. The only less than admirable weapon, in my opinion, was the incredibly, near 2-dimensional Lionheart gunblade. Normally, I would throw rocks at those who mess up gunblades, but seeing as I really couldn't tell it was the Lionheart that well, I decided to refrain. Overall, i would say this pack is delightfully impressive. I personally would suggest scaling down some of the weapons, on grounds that they could use it. By the power of the power I have in my fist, I command thee to equip bandwidth to your initiative slot, or death will follow. - Averus Retruthan

as people would be more likely to put these on their servers because there\'s really annoying features. There are three sabers in this pack, one is a short, the other one is a reversed saber, and the other one has a curved hilt similar to COunt Dooku\'s lightsaber. There is also a reskin of the buster sword. The remainding swords have a Knight of the Old Republic theme, which I liked since I like KOTOR. Lord of the Rings Weapon Pack

lotrweaponpack.zip | 966.92 KB

flat texture - paintbucket - and the top of the staff is just a picture. The top of the staff is very low-poly, and the hilt is much higher poly than it needs to be. I also find it amazing that a wood staff can make the same sound as a metal blade entering flesh. Curious... Gimli's Axe A simple texture for a simple model. The hilt is even square, and has some bad stretching on one of the sides. I don't believe this one is photosourced (not all of it anyway), but the textures do not look like what they're supposed to. The blade doesn't look like metal, and the handle looks more like stone than wood. Unless it's supposed to be stone. I confess I can't remember. Glamdring If you don't look too closely at this one, it looks pretty good. If you do, however, you'll notice there's not attempt at shading or detail on the blade, the handle is simply blurry grey and white lines with text on it, as is the lower part of the hilt. The only part of the skin on this sword that looks pretty good is the blue part of the handle, and that even looks a bit flat. I find it curious where this author puts detail and where he doesn't. For instance the little ribs on the handle are modeled on, but the blade itself is completely flat in terms of skinning. Legolas' Knives Speaking of flat, the blade on this knife is so thin that I don't know how it doesn't snap off. The skin consists of a base color - flat - with some detailing on it. Looks okay from a distance, except for the nasty texture stretching over the top and bottom of the hilt. Moria Orc Sword Kudos! The author finally tried to put some texture on the blade, instead of just a flat color. Unfortunately he only went halfway. There's no shading on the blade anywhere. There are some rusty stains (I think) which is a nice added touch, and gives me hope for the future. Narsil w00t! Some shading on the blade! Still not realistic looking, but it's nice to see improvement even within the same pack. Technique will come in time. Nazgul Sword The texture on the hilt looks sourced, and the texture on the blade looks random. The blade has way too many faces - you could have gotten away with a fraction of what you used here. And remember, a cylindrical hilt probably only needs about 8 sides. The hands will be covering it as well, so you won'd see it. Remember - less is more. Saruman's Staff Well the texture for the staff isn't entirely flat this time. It has a little bit of noise. Other than that, once again it's just paintbucket. The globey part of it is paint bucket with some symbols on it. Once again, way too many sides on the cylinder. Aragorn's Sword I'm assuming it's Aragorn's sword, anyway. I couldn't match this up with one in his read-me, and I honestly can't remember that much from Lord of the Rings. I did see all of the films, though. I swear. With this one, the white parts were so flat that I actually amused myself for a good five minutes by spinning the model, because it looked like everything but those parts was moving. It was more amusing than it should have been. Here we have a lot of flat colors, and even though the blade is slightly shaded it still looks flat. Looks nothing like metal. Uruk'hai Sword Definitely one of the better looking models here, but also completely photosourced, and as per the usual there's some nasty stretching on the handle. Witchking Sword The term "witchking" makes me giggle, but that's not the point here. Once again, a very flat model. The textures on this one don't even line up all that well, and they are very blurry. Overall Skinning is not this author's strong point, by far. The models really aren't bad. They could use some tweaking to technique, but they show great promise. The skinning, however, needs to improve. Remember, a model is only as good as the skin on top of it. Bad skins = ugly models. An unfortunate truth. Ask for help. People usually have great techniques they're hording all to themselves, waiting to share. All these weapons are also sized much too large, and many of them float around the hand rather than where they're supposed to be. The hand bolt is at (0 0 0), remember that. One of the models was even turned sideways. These are the kinds of things you should check for before submitting! Another big killer here are no shaders. No shaders! They are swords! They should be shiny! I don't know how you could make a pack of this many swords and not put a shader on them. Trust me. If you're planning on using flat or bad texture, you need a shader to at least attempt to cover it up. And next time, credit your blood effects. Just because they cycle around the community doesn't mean they're fair game. ~Inyri

random_sword_pack_v6_final.zip | 15.05 MB

[file="112943"]Random Sword Pack[/file]? A 6th version has appeared. New in this version are 4 new sabers: a Hylian shield, Blue Tang, Word of god & a U.S. Cavalry saber. Now, firstly, the Legend of Zelda Hylian shield (screenshot #1). Being extremely heretical, I've never played any Legend of Zelda games, but Google tells me it's pretty much accurate. My only gripe is it doesn't actually work well as shield - not only does it not properly block stuff (which is semi-inevitable, I admit), it also looks kind of awkward in combination with most other swords in this pack animations-wise. At the very least, I'd love to see a new idle animation for the shield. Still, the shield itself looks fine to me. Next, the Blue Tang (screenshot #2). In short, it is exactly what you see on the screenshot, including idle animation. I cannot help but wonder why it's called BLUE Tang, but other than that, it works fine and looks fine. The Word of god (screenshot #3) next up. Honestly, should've called this one Blue Tang ;) Other than that, once again, looks fine & works fine. This (s)word comes with some very fancy effects if you hit a wall or a player. The one you see if you hit a player looks alright, but the one you see if you hit a wall is awesome. No, seriously, fancy lightning is fancy. ;) Finally, the real treat: one United States 1800's era Cavalry sword of the North (screenshot #4). Basically, this was the one I really loved every moment of - as you can see, a working, good-looking cavalry saber. I'm keeping this one. In any case, in the words of Darth Java...now go crazy. -Caelum

Arcane Weapons Pack

because its particularly elegant or eye-catching (which it is), but because of the authors approach to it. Straightforward really, he didn't see one, so he decided to make it himself! Dyyor has presented us three simple weapons. A sword, a gauntlet (that thinks its a sword) and a shield. The first thing that knocked my socks off was the attention to detail on the shaders. The sword alone has five seperately rotating glyphs as well as the runes fading in and out on the blade itself. Likewise, the shield is composed of many rings rotating within rings within rings. The gauntlet is also shaped well and fits perfectly to hand of the player model. For the animations, dyyor has replaced the kata for the gauntlets with the spin/slash attack. Also take note, that the shield will not go flying off into the air if you attempt the same kata, only the blade. Do yourself a favor and make sure that you have dynamic glow (bloom) turned on when you use the shield, it adds a great deal of effect to it. Overall, I like this a lot. Simple design with intriguing detail. It's enough to look good without being (too) gaudy. Dyyor has promised to expand on this pack in the future and I eagerly await what he has to show us. My only suggestion would be colors; if I pick a purple blade, can I have a shiny purple shield? Please pretty please? -Sared New Textures: Yes New Sounds: No New Shaders: Very Yes New Models: Yes Overall rating: eight out of ten baked potatoes. Sour cream and cheese. Hold the bacon bits.

Nataria\'s Melee Pack 2

weapons. This is a completely independent pack to the first one that he/she released, so don\'t go deleteing it. These are all under the single hilt menu this time, although there are 2 weapons that could be classed as staff saber type. 18 weapons in here, one secret, most with all new weapon hit effects, and a few with animated textures. I\'ve grown especially fond of the Energy Claymore. :D A few of the weapons are basically shields. One of them would definitely not work in real life battle situations because of it\'s small size. It still looks cool though. I didn\'t find any issues at all. If it were me though, I would\'ve put the 2 staff type weapons into the staff saber menu. That\'s just my preference. Even though the staff types appear in the single hilt menu, they still use staff saber type animations. This and Nataria\'s first weapons pack, are certainly keepers in my own opinion. I can\'t wait to see what Nataria cooks up for a third pack! :D New Models: Yes New Textures: Yes New Sounds: Yes New Effects: Yes PS: I kept saying \"he/she\", because I am not aware of what gender you are. Gibson Explorer

and styles of electric guitar as there are different kinds of people and musical styles that use them. Here today we have the Gibson Explorer model from Last Wish and Duragon, the makers of the [file=96165]Gibson SG[/file] saber hilt that I reviewed a while back. Just like their previous work, this new hilt model is both very well made and very accurate the its real life counterpart (only, you don't go around attacking Stormtroopers with the real version now... do you? :P). There are a variety of skins to choose from here, four in fact, to suit your tastes. There is a plain white one, a plain black and white one, an unusual red one and one that has some kind of anime style pictures over it. Now I don't play the guitar or any musical instrument for that matter (though I did learn to play the violin a little back when I was at school) but one of my best friends does. To be honest I prefer the more traditional style of electric guitar that he plays, as opposed to these crazy looking ones with the pointy bits that look like they could poke someone's eyes out. :P Like their last guitar mod, the sounds for this model are short guitar clips, which is a cool idea. No doubt if you had a few players with using these guitar hilts in synch, you could probably play a simple tune or something... I hope we get a video of an ingame concert submitted in the future, now that would be something quite unique! As far as improvements go, I would say to add more skins for the next version if you decide to make it. Considering the wide verity of decorations these guitars can have I think you could easily double, or triple the size of this pack! Apart from that though I would say maybe add different guitar clips to each of the different guitar skins and then you really could have a proper ingame concert! All in all good work again here from Last Wish and Duragon, keep up the good work guys! New Hilt Model: Yes New Sounds: Yes ~Nozyspy~

Organization XIII Weapons Pack

orgxiii.zip | 2.9 MB

disney people get together and beat the crap out of each other? Well, there is a cult inside this game entitled Organization XIII. No, not Organization 13. Organization XIII. You gotta get the, uh, Roman Numerals... and everything. Anyways, this organization has SO MANY PEOPLE I COULDN'T COUNT, but then I could and there are only 13 people. It kinda fits, you know? They all have their own swords, which are bright and colorful and extremely deadly, and large. Which has gotten them the title of big-ass swords. Not all of them are too big, actually some of them are pretty small. But as Yoda said, size matters not. For these smaller weapons pack a bigger punch, a kick in the face of your enemies! Kingdom hearts fans will rejoice! These are no under-par attempts to recreate a basic outline of them. These are actually high quality (or really the highest quality JKA can get) recreations I've seen so far! Really, I haven't seen any else but if I did these would probably be the greater. Just to name a few, there's the Big Scythe, the Yellow Claw Things, the Orb with a Lightsaber Laser in It, and much much more. The author has even put in new stances for them, so when you're using the attack and defense cards, instead of that hunched position you get when using basic sabers, you get a spread out stance, like 'hit me'. And when you hit someone with it, it is no laughing matter. Earth, wind and fire effects will stream from your enemies deep flesh wounds when they get the unfortunate slash across the face. These are high quality recreations here people, and it would be foolish for a Kingdom Heart fan not to get these! Enjoy! ~Authuran

and I'll just say that I never really became too fond of them. Unless your using a mod that removes glow on these specific hilts, your never really seeing the blade, now are you? On to describing! The pack contains seven skins, on 4 models, so yes, there are seven hilts heres. Based on the screenshot, the mostly used model(Vibrosword) seemed to be the best, surely enough of an excuse to skin it so much. The katana, well, we've seen plenty of those in every pack like this. The other two swords look fairly simple in design, though theres nothing wrong with that, Im a fan of simplicity. Though they certainly arn't goign to "wow" you like some of the other straight sword models here. On to the last model in the pack, the Axe. Whatever use you may find of it, do use precaution, as it looks like quite a dangerous weapon. Based on its comparison to the other blades, I know for a fact it will have one of the huge problems that I do dislike. When the actual lightsaber goes through the model, and its very visible, quite an unattractive thing to see on the screen. Though I'm in no way dishonoring this pack, it will finely suit any player who uses actual swords for their saber instead of the tradition hilt. The author even gives some decent descriptions of each blade in the readme, so quite creative. Do enjoy, and watch where your swinging your sword. -LordMyth

and has superb detail from the small guns to the large every one looks just like they do in MiB. The included weapons are: Arquillian Arm Cannon (Tri-barrel), D55 SAW, D70 Magnasonic Disruptor, J2 Standard Sidearm, Noisy Cricket, Pulsar Blaster, Reverberating Carbonizer, Seriens 4 Deatomizer, and the Shrapnel Cannon. Something for every MiB fan there non? The replacement for the imperial heavy repeater had a problem on my PC with the animation it plays as it fires, the shader seems to be missing which means you see a blue flash on block instead of being transparent - this may just be my PC but incase it\'s not I thought I better mention it did happen to me! Again however there aren\'t any new sounds which I think would be a good idea seen as in MiB they didn\'t sound like JA! -WadeV1589-

most part (some handles look to be 12+ sided when far lesser sides would have produced the same effect), but the textures actually have less detail. Most or all of these weapons have no attempt at realistic shading, leaving them looking paintbucketed or as if they were done in MS paint, and most of the weapons look exactly the same, other than being different sizes, or having added parts. The only seeming improvement I can see in this pack is that extra weapons have been added. However with such a decreased attention to detail from the first version, I can't say if it's a bonus or not. To be frank, the modelling needs to be a little neater, and the texturing simply needs some detail. Judging from the quality from version one, I'd have to assume the author was just lazy here, because otherwise I can't see why the quality would drop so drastically. ~Inyri

Medieval Swords Pack

medievalswords.zip | 3.72 MB

doesn't look brilliant . It's a little shabby in terms of texturing - all of them are, and the metal isnt shiny enough, nor the blade sharp enough. In fact, some of the swords seem to have wooden blades, most noticeably the Katana sword and its 3 variations. So I can see a lot of room for improvement. :( The sheer size of the sword is also a bit off, it's too big. I know it's suppossed to be big, but not THIS big :p. The problem being, that with strong style, you can't fight properly because your character kinda flinches and pulls back a little when the blade hits the floor. It also looks stupid. The second sword I came to was something called a Halberd, whch had 2 variations. Each was like a stick with a blade curving from the end, and the variation had a blade at each end. Again, texturing a little odd, and the blades were very blunt. On the plus side, they look cool when you do special tricks with them :) The third sword I got to was the Katana sword (which had 3 variations which I can remember) These were undoubtedly the worst of the pack - The only difference between the variations was the size of the blade and hilt, and I think one of them may havehad a curved blade, like a cutlass. Next up is my favourite sword of the pack. I can't quite remember it's name, although I think it was called a 'Rapier.' (Sword in far bottom-left of the screenshot) Now this sword had class :) The hilt was very nice and curvy, and looked really cool to hold. It also looked the sharpest and most deadly out of all the weapons. This sword easily owns the pack. Then came the 'B*stard sword' Dunno why it's called that, but it looked the same as the Katana. Not brilliant. The last unique sword came in the form of a staff. It had two variations. One was a 'scythe' and the other a Scimitar. Its the thing that the Grim Reaper always carries ;) The wooden parts of these weapons looked okay, and so did the blades. So, not rubbish, but not too impressive. The Scythe is different simply because it has a black handle :p. Last, but definitely not least is the custom sounds. They really add depth to this pack which gives it a little more cause for enjoyment. The author has over-increased the filesize a bit because he has added the same sounds into all the pk3's, when he could have just added them into one pack and used thee set of sounds once, but It's not too bad :) Another minor problem is that with the large handled weapons, i.e the Buster Sword, the character fingers tend to go through the hilt. Pretty good modeling here, I would like to see how much better these can be with some texture improvements :). New Textures: Yes New Models: Yes New Sounds: Yes ~Szico VII~

the sabers are now accessible in the single player menu, so enjoy. Here\'s the previous review.
Well, it appears like IFailedEnglish has decided to continue on Last Wish\'s idea of lego lightsabers. The author has expanded on Last Wish\'s idea by including several different sabers, and different styles of them. You get a lego Dooku saber, a regular lego saber, and a lego saber staff. There are also reverse versions of the Dooku and regular saber. The sabers also come in three different colors: plastic, silver, and gold. These look cool, and certainly look more detailed than Last Wish\'s single lego saber.
Oh, and optional lego lightsaber blades are included. ;) ~Zach

FFX-2 Basic Weapons Pack

ffx2_if.zip | 11.86 MB

very often. Chain attacks, for example - Squall\'s limit break system was more controllable than those. Oh, and the \"ultimate dressphere\" stuff was lame. Shoulda just had a summoner class, or a tamer-type class (since the Aeons were, like, apparently dead). One other thing that annoyed me is that they killed off Bahamut, Ifrit and Shiva - the main summoned characters from throughout the series. Other than those few things which would only really annoy long-term fans of the classic (i.e. pre-FF7) games, s\'all OK. (Yeah, screw Valefor and Ixion, they only got in \'cuz Square couldn\'t afford Fenrir and Ramuh\'s salary demands. >_> ) *cough* Y\'see, there\'s a classic example of adhering to Shakespeare\'s #1 proverb: \"If you don\'t know what to say, just talk about some random {beep} and hope nobody notices!\" What does that have to do with anything, you ask? Well, it doesn\'t, actually. I just couldn\'t think of a good way to start the review. Don\'t judge me. :( Anyway, this pack contains - as if you hadn\'t already guessed or skipped straight to the screenshots - Paine\'s Warrior sword, Yuna\'s Gunner pistol, and Rikku\'s Thief knife-things from FFX-2. The first thing I did, as usual, was check for authenticity. Now, where the hell Inyri got her refs from, I don\'t know, because from the junk I found I certainly wouldn\'t have been able to model these. Guess that makes Prima guides reliable for two things: being wrong about everything, and providing good reference images. These aren\'t perfectly accurate - perfect accuracy on these weapons is impossible to achieve simply because there are no perfect reference images - but they\'re as close as can be, if Inyri had the same pool of references as I have. One inaccuracy I did find was Yuna\'s pistol - the fancy-but-impractical design thingy on the back of the barrel seems vastly smaller than in X-2; however, I always thought having a gigantic decoration on the back of your gun was stupid anyway, so I\'m fine with that change. Oh, and that same decorative thingy is the wrong color. But whatever, that\'s nitpicking. Second thing I checked for was errors. I couldn\'t find any, of course, even when looking pretty close. That\'s not to say there are no errors, I just couldn\'t find them. So, if they\'re there, they\'ll have no effect on gameplay. Most of the things I could pick out to mention are purely aesthetic. Yuna\'s gun, for starters, seems blocky. Then again, the Q3 engine handles considerably less polies than the engine used for FFX-2, so it shouldn\'t really suprise me, although I think maybe the detail could have been a little bit better. Paine\'s sword is accurate enough, the hilt guard just doesn\'t look exactly right to me - can\'t explain it, just seems a little off. Naturally, Rikku\'s weapons have a gameplay imbalance, and don\'t really look right since the animations were made for lightsabers, but hey - they work, so who really cares? As an extra, versions of Rikku\'s thief things are available which seem to have been redesigned for Paine and Yuna. Two bugs were pointed out in the readme. #1: When throwing/dropping the Paine and Yuna thief things, you\'ll see the default - this is because of an engine glitch in rendering weapons using the CustomSkin line in the .sab files. #2: This pack will clash with other files that use a modified sp_ingame.str file. To fix these clashes, open this pk3 in Pakscape and delete the file - it\'s not necessary anyway, just a little extra addon. Well, for those FFX-2 fans out there, or just general people who like the look of the weapons, download away. ~ Kouen

Ashura's Jawa Pack

jawa_pack_ashuradx.zip | 7.75 MB

Jawa reskin, originally for JAU, but I decided to expand it and make a complete Jawa pack... This includes: - A new Jawa skin with team and bot support. -A fusion cutter as lightsaber. -A Jawa ionization blaster, DEMP2 replacement.
Now, starting from the beginning... The new Jawa skin As seen in the first couple of screenshots, this new Jawa is different from the standard one in several ways. It looks more dirty (to me atleast), its robes are a far lighter shade of brown and it generally looks better. In my opinion, a huge improvement - awesome job. It is a new skin, so it does not overwrite the default Jawa. Personally, I would have loved to atleast have the option to overwrite the default one with this one; something for a future version perhaps? :) To make it even better, the thing also comes with team & bot support. Fusion cutter RPers rejoice - a saber that is, in fact, a fusion cutter. Works well, looks good, what more can one want? My only gripe lies with the sounds - they're standard saber sounds. Judging by the .sab file, this is a bug (you didn't include the sound folder you referenced!), but I've been wrong before. In any case, other than that, I like it a lot. DEMP2 replacement As seen on the last two screenshots, the DEMP2 gun has been replaced by this thing (also this thing); a Jawa ionization blaster. Again, it works & it looks good. 3 new NPCs One hostile Jawa with a fusion cutter, one with a thermal detonator and one with an ionization blaster. Now, the one thing I'd like to see is everything being optional. What I mean here is a separate file for the blaster, fusion cutter & Jawa (preferably with another seperate file that just overwrites the old Jawa), so I can choose what I want and do not want. That's your call though, Ashura ;) In any case, awesome job. -Caelum

If you find any bugs (besides the shaders LEAVE ME ALONE ABOUT SHADERS!!!) report them to me via email =)
Got enough swords? XD So yeah, version 4...if you took anything away from that, it's that this sword pack is pretty diverse in terms of game selection. I took a brief tour of the blades. First thing I noticed was that none of them bounced off the wall. Disappointing, but oh well. I also noticed a lot of them had a custom idle stance. Not bad. Now, I did notice a few handle issues on some swords: - Jack of Blades Knife - Hoplite Sword - Stalfos Sword - BJ-2 Combat Knife Where the player either handled it too close to the pommel or too close to the crossguard. Some of the idle animations had the lower hand holding nothing, but that can't be helped sometimes. But yeah, there you have it. MOAR SWORDS, MOAR GOAR. the technical designs remain mostly the same, in textural and .sab file attributes. Strangely enough, however, it appears only one of the weapons is throwable this time around. Our current presentations feature: - Marrowstrike: The only weapon amidst the pack that can be thrown, this ornate blue spear with gold accenting is usable both in single and staff stances. - Axe of Shattered Dreams: Probably one of the most crisp looking of the pack is this cyan-headed axe with black handle. - The Maelstrom's Fury: Probably Akimoto's smallest weapon to date next to the Arclight Spanner, this curved cyan blade would have probably benefited from using either the Tavion stance or the Dual stance...and be throwable. - Demonshear: For shearing demons, obviously. Probably the poorest quality photosourcing could be on this weapon, but the detail is still visible. - Deathblow: Probably the second most crisp of the weapons, this shortblade echoes of elven inspirations with its light green accenting. Overall, a solid pack, I should say. A shame there were no bludgeoning weapons such as a mace or hammer in this pack, but I suppose demand was not high enough. I find myself quite fond of Deathblow's simple and elegant model design. World of Weapons - Pack 2

world_of_weapons_pack_2.zip | 2.98 MB

up to thee to learn of it from[file="110653"] previous tales.[/file] So, presented before our altar are a set of low level weapons that your typical warrior might encounter as you first begin the game. Considering I never even laid eyes upon a computer screen of someone who plays it, I cannot say...and no, the Youtube funeral attack video does not count. Now, the weapons: - Enti's Quenched Sword: Now I have no clue who Enti is, or what is it that he quenched his blade in before distributing it to the public. Suffice to say, this is a rather modest weapon. Much more modest than I had expected out of a game like World of Warcraft. Though the blade looks to be about as long as an arming or a bastard sword, the handle is FAR too long to be a fruitful balance to this weapon, realistically speaking. - Battleworn Hammer: This hammer looks sorta comical in appearance, really. A big ol' wooden mallet with green string binding it at the head and handle. - Crooked Staff: A quarterstaff, bent all out of shape and nearly unusable for anything save a walking stick. This weapon seems rather odd because the white cloth wrapping about it seems to excede the diameter of the stick itself, thus making the appearance of duck tape rolls upon it o_O - Pitchfork: Woe unto the one who would dare question the might of the Hayfork. This one seems to be more equipped for battle, however, as the prongs are far too short for efficably working with hay. - Broad Axe: Your standard war axe. Good for leaving embedded in the skulls of your enemies. *nod* All in all, I would not be surprised if Akimoto must step in to counter those who believe these weapons are ported again. XD These are actually quite agreeable weapons overall. I feared overly ornate weapons would be coming our way...now of course, they will be, but for now, I am appeased by the simplicity of this weapons pack. Retain your vigil, masses. that I would refuse to let this see the light of day. Quite the contrary, really. There was quite a bit of behind the scenes work to ensure these weapons would receive a proper reception, both on the team's and the author's part. Akimoto surprised us all when he flooded our inbox with these weapons. We had feared the worst, but it is true: He has managed to craft a staggering amount of weapons and release them unto us in such a short amount of time =_=; This particular pack is one of multiple that will be coming out. The primary theme in this weapon pack is: Tools. Yes, tools..of trade, of excellence, and of fishing. Let us reveal the contents of this pack unto the masses: - Arclight Spanner: A rather funny name for a wrench, if you ask me. That's all it is, a humble silver wrench. BRILLIANT! =_,= - Big Iron Fishing Pole: The name speaks for itself. A large fishing pole, used to fish out the undergarments of many fair maidens from beneath their skirts...or fish, take your pick. - Blacksmith's Hammer: Without the blacksmith's mighty hammer to tame the metals of our world into tools of great import. Strangely enough, however, is that it looks more like a warhammer than a smithing hammer o_O - Mining Pick: Much as our smith's hammer beat the metal into our tools, where would the hammer lay its head without the pick that unearths the metal ores that would then become a sword? - Skinning Knife: Ah yes, a tool that could be considered of just as of import, if not more, than the other tools. This blade would be instrumental to clading our bodies with the furs of great beasts, and skinning skull and bones to form armor...or trophies, or handpuppets. It matters not, the knife is indiscriminate in its service. All of these weapons were modelled quite well, and do quite the service to their World of Warcraft counterparts. The texturing, however, seems to do it a mild disservice. We learned that the good Akimoto had decided to photosource the weapon textures to fit his needs. The result is a rather low quality texture, but honestly, this texturing is actually quite sufficient for its purposes. I should only hope that in the future, Akimoto proves bold enough to craft his own textures! All the weapons are relatively uniform in their handling. Both sounds and .sab files are pretty much the same, save for a few differences here and there, none of which would prove detrimental to this file's use in public. In fact, he himself assured us that:
No special "attributes" are added to keep the playability "fair" on most servers.
And fair they are. Now, what could improve these, I wonder? I would say a bit of catering to the sound department is the only thing I can currently recommend at this time, other than higher resolution textures. The sounds are definitely a bit bland, in that there's virtually no difference. I should think that a fishing pole of such thin stature would make a sort of "whipping" sound, and the blacksmith's hammer would cut through the air with heavier wooshes. The arclight spanner probably should hardly make a sound, but what fun would that provide? Either way, these improvements would be minor and should not in any way affect your enjoyment of these weapons. Should you enjoy the malevolence of these weapons, retain your vigil. More shall come swiftly to tantalize and delight your depraved desires. =_,= - Averus Retruthan

Each is based off of an abstract idea - the swords (except for the ryojin sword) are based on large, pointed guards that nearly stick through your head. The sabers were a little different - one looked like a normal, made-from-concept-drawing saber, another looked sort of cartoonish, and the third...well, it was rather unique - two hilts mutated together into one. Very nice, I liked this one the best. The screenshot shows you all the weapons in one shot. If you like the look of them, then you know what to click. ~Dretzel

Random Sword Pack v3

random_sword_pack_v3.zip | 4.7 MB

has changed since the last time around. The most major change is that a new sword has been added to the pack; Darth Java's Sword, which is an ingame representation of the authors own home made sword (how you home make a sword I have no idea!). This is a nice touch which adds a bit more of the authors own personality to the mod I think. Judging from the screenshot it is also an accurate representation of his real life sword, which is cool. Although I think the 'colourful' colour schemes on the other swords in the pack perhaps use a bit more artistic license than their real life counterparts which are generally much duller looking (that isn't to say you cannot get some colourfully decorated swords though!) Also included is; a Knights Templar themed sword, a Crusader themed sword, a sword called Redemption and a Greek Hoplite sword, which I would personally say is the most realistic and true-to-life one out of the four. Although really it should be more of a bronze colour to reflect the common metal worked at the time, as opposed to this steely looking version. All four are well modelled, although I think there could be a bit more three dimensional detail in there along with some more detailed textures, the ones used now are OK, but they do look a little flat. The author mentions that he tried to add a shader to make the blades shiny but that they don't work. I'm not exactly sure what could be wrong here, but broken shaders are often caused by not having the correct file path in the .shader file for the shader images and such, so that’s worth checking out. One thing I especially liked about this pack though was that the swords each have different stances rather than using the default saber stances. They looked rather more cinematic and certainly some of them looked appropriate for a sword stance than the saber stances do. Lastly there also appeared to be some new sounds, at least for the saber activation and deactivation sounds, or should that be the sword sheathing and unsheathing sounds? All in all good work here, although I think the models and textures could be polished a bit more. Nevertheless though a good quality sword model pack here, if you guys like the look of this, be sure to give it a download! :) New Model: Yes New Sounds: Yes New Effects: No New Stances: Yes ~Nozyspy~

Crystal Weapons

crystalweapons.zip | 1015.88 KB

rifles, daggers etc. These require rare components and a master weapon smith to make them and even Naktra Crystal weapons with mediocre stats go for ludicrous sums of money. Here we have three new Crystal themed weapons from Sithmaster555 that even the Ice Queen would be proud to have. First off we have Deaths Hand, which is basically a ball of crystal shards surrounding your hand. This was probably my favourite weapon out of the pack since it looks like one of the Ice Queen's evil snowballs! :P Next we have the Crystal Sword which does exactly as it says on the tin, it’s a sword made out of crystal! This very much reminds me of the Naktra Crystal Dagger from Star Wars Galaxies. I do think however that this should be bigger and longer, since it isn't really the size you would expect from a sword, it is more like a large dagger. Last up we have the Spiked Crystal Sword which is similar to the Crystal Sword but is double ended and has rather more spikes around the handle, hence the name. Again I think this should have been made bigger, perhaps more to the size of the staff saber or a little smaller. It just doesn't look quite right at its current size. That’s just my opinion though. All of the weapons are nice and glowy, which is a feature I have come to expect from Sithmaster555 and one which fits well with the crystal theme, although I would also have said that they could equally have been called Ice Weapons. All in all another excellent weapons pack here from Sithmaster555, although I would like to see this Crystal theme expanded upon in future, perhaps with some larger scale weapons. Besides, you gotta love stuff that glows! ;) New Model: Yes New Sounds: No New Effects: No ~Nozyspy~

Random Sword Pack v2

random_sword_pack_v2.zip | 3.53 MB

aren't the most appealing things on planet Earth, and I daresay they go a little out-on-a-limb with the color scheme, although they do resemble swords very well. There are four swords given here: Crusader, Greek Hoplite, Redemption and Knights Templar. I'm not going to go into a full description of each individual sword, but they mostly consist of a gray-colored blade and a colored cross-guard. They're very straightforward. The blade textures themselves arent bad at all...they may be low-detail, but that also gives it a brand-new shiny appearance. But the hilts...well, in my opinion, they look a little out-of-place. It's not so much the colors as it is the smoothness and polygon edges...especially the cross-guards. Redemption and Greek Hoplite could use a little scarring/fancying up, whereas Knights Templar and Crusader could probably do with less black pits and more fancy designs. Some extras are also included. Sounds were given, which is always a must with swords. Also, new animations and stances were given for the swords, so when you use them you'll be in an appropriate pose for battle. They only gripe I had with the animations is that after a swing there's a little "pop" where the old stance animation ends and the new stance takes over. You might want to look for a way to smooth that out if you make another version, if it's possible. Shaders were added since v1, but they didn't seem to work for me in-game, and if they did, it wasn't very noticeable. So, have a look at the screenshots and decide whether or not you're interested. Not a lot has changed overall, but there's enough here to make this sword pack worth downloading for sure. ~Dretzel

The author has done a pretty good job making these, and I kind of like them because we don't see swords too often, which is what makes this unique. Ghost's Zanpakto - Cruel and Unusual Blades

ghosts_zanpakto_r1_cruel_and_unusual_blades.zip | 1.07 MB

Bleach is a popular media franchise covering comics and anime, though I have never seen it myself and don’t really know much about it other than what I have read on Wikipedia. Anime / Manga is of course well known for its absolutely crazy looking swords and other weapons. Usually they are about as big as the person wielding them or have shapes that defy the laws of physics! :P Anyway, here we have a pack of ‘Cruel and Unusual Blades’ which I presume have been based off those seen in the anime or comics. True to form these are damn scary looking and are weapons you wouldn’t want to be on the pointy end of! This pack contains quite a lot of new weapons to use, a full list of which can be found in the readme. These are all very well made, and I didn’t encounter any bugs other than that no sound plays when you use the saber throw. Other than that they work perfectly and I think this is a really cool pack for anyone interested in the Bleach series. Those who are uneducated about Bleach and what it is about (like me) will find this pack slightly confusing, as all the names are in Japanese. Though thankfully not actual Japanese characters! So to the untrained eye it’s very difficult to tell some names apart, and impossible to know what they mean unless you look them up. This isn’t really a problem though, as anyone who is interested in downloading a new weapon pack will be sure to enjoy these. All in all a very well made weapons pack here, a must download for any Bleach fans and I think this is also something that anyone interested in downloading a new weapon pack will enjoy. If you are a fan of Bleach, or just like the look of this weapons pack, be sure to give it a download! :D New Hilt Model: Yes New Sounds: No ~Nozyspy~

BladeStaff Pack

bladestaff_jk2jk3.zip | 5.03 MB

something similar to what the Emperors Shadow Guards use. But these are something quite different! Basically what we have is a few new single sabers, a couple with an axe on the end, and one with a very painful looking spiky mace on the end. There is also one available from the staff saber menu (it is the same as the single sabers, but it changes the stance to the staff saber stance). These aren’t your ordinary terrifying looking giant axes though, as when you swing them you will notice that they leave a glowy trail. I am guessing this is why they are called blade staffs, because this is similar to the trail that a lightsaber leaves. Other than that there are no glowy areas on these weapons, so the glowy trail it leaves sort of looks like ‘magic trail’ or something. Although saying that, I have no idea if magical weapons leave a ‘magic trail’, I’m a Star Wars geek, I’m not really into the whole fantasy genre, so I wouldn’t know! :P There were a couple of minor bugs that I noticed. The main one though is that one of these new weapons seems to replace the Katarn hilt in the saber selection menu. Like I said it is only a minor bug, but it can be slightly annoying if you use the Katarn hilt, as I do. As for improvements, I would suggest working a bit more on the textures, giving them some more detail and depth, as they look a little flat at the moment. Also the red splotches on the spiky mace (which I presume to be blood) don’t look quite right. Its difficult to explain really, they just don’t seem to ‘fit’. But that’s just my opinion. Apart from those small things though this is a cool weapon pack here, and I really liked the coloured glowy trail that the weapons leave, because like I said, it looks sort of like a ‘magic trail’ or something as opposed to the usual light trails left by our sabers. All in all a good mod here, keep up the good work mate! :) New Hilt Model: Yes New Sounds: Yes ~Nozyspy~

menu, three new guitar hilts, each of which with a different funky pattern emblazoned on it. These hilts are modelled after the Gibson SG electric guitar, and so far as I can see from the photos I managed to find on the Internet, these models are impressively accurate! The coolest bit (at least in my opinion) are the new sounds. I bet you can guess what they are can’t you? :P Yes, that’s right, the new sounds for the swinging, hitting, and saber on/off animations are appropriately shot clips of guitar music, a really cool and original feature there, great idea guys! Not really got the money spare to smash a real guitar up? Well now you can do it in-game courtesy of Last Wish & Duragon! If you get enough people together who have this mod, I imagine you might even be able to actually play a little tune using the sound effects for these hilts. SM555's Fantasy Weapon pack

sm_ultimateweppack.zip | 12.04 MB

released recently? Or is it the fourth, I’ve lost count. :P The pack includes many new fantasy styled swords, a rather scary looking axe and a mace, interestingly named ‘Balls of Steel’. Firstly, the swords. Like I said we have a lot of new swords to choose from here, including some others that were previously released separately. All the swords have suitable fantasy-sounding names that I cannot pronounce, like Ran-Azharko'e and Izuh-Loazje. The swords themselves are pretty scary looking, fitting well with their rather scary sounding names, with huge serrated blades and all kinds of jagged shapes. One of my favourite parts as always is the glowy bits, you gotta love glowy things. I cant get enough of them! Next we have the huge axe, which again is a huge jagged looking thing. I really would not like to be on the business end of this scary chap, which would most likely be wielded by an Orc or other such fearsome creature I imagine! Lastly we have the curiously named ‘Balls of Steel’ mace. Well basically it does exactly as it says on the tin, it’s a mace, topped with three ‘balls of steel’ quite literally. Each of the balls have part of that name inscribed upon them which was a clever touch I think. Perhaps the most strange and amusing thing here though is the sound that plays when you activate the ‘saber’ as you would normally. And no I’m not going to tell you what it is, that would ruin the surprise now wouldn’t it? ;) You will have to download this and hear it for yourself! Now, what about bugs? Well to be honest I couldn’t really find any. This weapon pack is as well made as the rest of SithMasteR555’s. He does mention in his readme “Can't get both glow and a shiny shader” however I really don’t think that affects the quality of this pack. In any case, I would rather have the glowy-ness than the shiny-ness! All in all another well made weapon pack from SithMasteR555 here, which all of you fantasy fans should enjoy! Although personally I think for future projects, it would be cool if we could see some more sci-fi themed weapons. Maybe like that crazy double handed sword thing that the Klingon’s in Startrek wield, or the cortosis vibroswords out of Knights of the Old Republic. But anyways, once again good work here, if you like the look of this weapon pack, then give it a download! New Hilt Model: Yes New Sounds: Yes ~Nozyspy~

Black Guns (v1.2)

black_guns.zip | 1.9 MB
Bit of a misleading filename here, in that it doesn't actually set all the guns to black. In summary, the changes are relatively minor. First up is the E-11. Notice how it has a brown tint? Well, the textures have now gone through the good ol' desaturate->darken process, leaving the gun black as the title says, but relatively undetailed. The disruptor has also had a change, what looks to me like desaturate->lighten->+contrast. The whole gun is essentially recolored uniform silver. The author is under the false impression that the Star Wars weapons are made entirely of metal, y'see, and also under the impression that metal is always grey or black. In actual fact, metal is usually not even black until it's painted, and using the same logic it's not entirely unusual to see metals painted in different colors. Hence why we have blue cars, green cars, purple cars (yes, I have seen purple cars), etc. Chances are you'll also have to rename the pk3 file for this to work, as the author has foolishly included brackets and a period in the filename. Simple rule for pk3 files - and archive files that you upload to us - is that filenames should consist only of letters, numbers, and underscores. Well, it's a simple mod, if it takes your fancy then download away. Well, you're going to have to download it anyway in order to find out whether it takes your fancy or not. Or incidentally, you could instead opt to take a three-day weekend in Hawaii. Completely unrelated to the file.... but still a very good idea!
Yeah ©_© why he decided to trail off like that is beyond me, considering he's not even remotely within spitting distance of Hawaii.. So, the changes have actually been listed in the readme, which is always convenient for the reviewer, as we get to just spit those back out and not have to figure it out ourselves. The change? 1.2 Made the DEMP 2 gray and made custom icons for all three weapons. Translation: Grayscaled the DEMP2 and haphazardly edited the icons themselves This is pretty much where I learned something about the weapon icons. Apparently, I did not realize they were actually under control of a shader, nor did I realize that they changed appearance when you run out of ammo. This all came out quite easily when testing the weapon icons. You see, without the shader here, the weapon icons actually came out quite poorly. The custom icons now have an unsexy blob of yellow around them as opposed to the faint glow they once had. When you run out of ammo, you know get a huge black square around the gun. Not very attractive when filtering through weapons. Well, overall these changes aren't very appealing to me, but perhaps the masses have a more forgiving sense of appeal. Shield pack v2

shield.v2.zip | 4.66 MB

over briskly and individually: Shuriken: A shuriken style shield with a glowing orb in the center of the open ring in the center. Not exactly keen defense when your shield has a hole in it o_O Dolphin: A shield that was apparently designed to have a more modern feel to it, but honestly, I'm not seeing it..I just see an incredibly bleached shield with an odd center texture. Also, the player model's hand clips through the shield's guard. It was built to function with the right hand, just FYI. Black and Ivory Tower Shields: Whilst the Ivory looks more like light hued wood to me, these tower reskins have the benefit of being less visible in the dark. Spiderweb: A giant spider web curved in the shape of a circular shield, with no grip, and a huge spider on top. Honestly, the spider web doesn't seem very elaborate, but that can be overlooked. Another note to make about the pack is that the rancor shield now has some red detail added to it, and is no longer "bleached" as Jose put it. Overall, not a bad upgrade. Only real concern would be the lack of fitting sounds. FIND SOME @_@! - Averus Retruthan

LotR Sword Pack

lotr_swords_rs.zip | 2.55 MB

the LOTR swords as seen in the movies. Just for fun, I'm going to tackle them individually. Hadhafang - As with all the models in this pack, this was sleekly crafted, and looks dead onto the sword it was meant to represent. My only concern lies in the blade's appearance. I dun think a specular shader was the best choice here. Definitely could use something more metallic >_> - Sting (regular Sting and orc-blue Sting): When not doing a concert tour or recording an album, Sting liked to transform into a sword and help a hairy-footed midget kill orcs. This, as with the Hadhafang, looks incredibly accurate, textures simply sublime. The only oddity I noticed will repeat itself in other swords here: the tag to handle it. The blade is held too far from the guard, and thus looks a little awkward. However, both versions of these are awesome to behold, visually, aside from that. -Legolas' knife - Orlando Bloom's curvy knife looks the most simple of the pack. I can't vouch for accuracy, but it certainly looks like it had LOTR elven roots. However, the knife is still held awkwardly. Also, I would have suggested possibly modding the .sab so it would use the more one handed Tavion stance. - Generic Elf sword - I never saw this sword in the movie, but holy crap the handle is HUGE. Seriously, it'd make a better Dai-Katana/Polearm more than anything! Whew...well, it still looks supreme, that much is certain. There is both a single and staff version, which I found to be a smart idea. It merits that much. This is one of the few where hand position is relatively good. - Glamdring: Gandalf the Gray's sword, and probably one of more favorite swords to behold. The handle on this one sorta made me look curiously, as I recall an older Glamdring with a cloth or leather grip. After looking through some pictures, I confirmed it: this grip is way too smooth. Also, although maybe it's just me, but the sword seems a little small. It's more than likely just me, but otherwise it looks pretty beastly. However, there's that whole tag thing >_> again. Saruman's Staff - Christopher Lee's, or should I say Saruman the White's staff that he used to beat the living crap out of Gandalf and seal his place in mah book as awesome even further. This staff feels a little too geometric, particularly at the top. There's no real rugged feel to this staff, which I would argue is a necessary addition. Design-wise, the author didn't go wrong after that. It's hard to mess up this staff. Witchking Blade - Aw man the sword was awesome. HOWEVER, this one had the same oddities as Glamdring in terms of size and tag. In fact, the tag was placed in a POORER location than Glamdring's, and now it's like he's holding the blade by the pommel o_O. It was then that I noticed the enormous handle. I don't recall that particular feature, but I can see why he was so eager to keep the tag down where it wouldn't skewer the model's arm. Sounds for all these weapons were appropriately selected and manipulated. Other than the weird oddities, I did not any other bugs. Winrar, yes? There you have it. I'd suggest you fix those tags perhaps, and if you plan oncontinuing modelling LOTR swords, get that Nazgul blade under production, or else you will be eaten by kids. more specifically, a "sword" and "shield" by their functions. The "sword" is a voodoo doll with one humongous needle sticking out of it o_O; seriously, it's huge. The shield is a trio of skulls, which I found to be amusing =_,= Well, there's only one other thing I really want to say about this mod before turning it over to you all: Saber sounds. Probably the biggest injury the mod technically suffers from. Some custom or solid object sounds were definitely needed. Otherwise, an amusing pack of weapons. SUBMIT BANDWIDTH AT YOUR OWN RISK
Every error mentioned has been fixed, but some things were left in the process. The needle's trail still remains from the previous version, so perhaps that could be addressed somehow. Also, there seems to be a odd line that appears in front of the player when the weapon is swung, and when it is thrown, that same line appears going in a vertical axis. I really really enjoy the awesome voodoo doll idle sound =_,= it sounds perfectly macabre and evil. The skulls, however, need some work. Whilst the sound in essence is awesome, it's too linear in the sense that the idle sound provided wasn't made to be looped. It was a good approach, but it sort of detracts when you can tell when it loops back. Perhaps fixing up that particular sound with a sound program would work. Worst case scenario, find another. I'm sure there's plenty more where that came from. My final suggestion: The monster noise swings might have been a bit much. You prolly coulda gotten away with something a little less obtuse. Overall, however, it's a definite improvement. Definitely something to play around with, and I use that term heavily, as these weapons have damage scale. BANDWIDTH =_=. - Averus Retruthan

a parchment scroll capable of deflecting energy weapons? Hey, why the hell not? We've got sonic screwdrivers that get disrupted by hairdryers, fake Chaos Emeralds, starships which according to the laws of Newtonian physics would be shattered by dust and debris the moment they accelerate and would be incinerated as soon as they touch an atmosphere yet somehow manage to survive either scenario intact, Nintendo Wii and a UNIX-based OS that is still actually used in 2008. Believe me when I say this ain't the weirdest gadget we've had inside nor outside the sci-fi genre. By all accounts the quill and parchment are fine, they look the real deal and pass the mustard easily enough. The ink effect is deliciously splodgy, and believe me when I say I mean that in the most 'Simpsons meets Shakespeare meets zero gravity test chamber' way you can possibly imagine. With a dash of Pingu added in for good measure. Quirky enough to download? Sure. Just don't blame me if Rosh suddenly starts reciting sonnets from A Midsummer Night's Dream, or if Jan suddenly runs in yelling "O Kyle, Kyle! Wherefore art thou Kyle!?".... ~ Kouen

shield. We\'ll look at all of them one by one, shall we not? Let\'s start from the top. The buckler. Well, first off, it\'s too big to be a buckler. A buckler is a small shield, about three times the size of your fist. This one is nearly twice as large. And it looks like it\'s made of stone. The new Shield of Patience is up next. The majority of it is chrome. The middle part is a studded cloudy pattern. As with the buckler, it looks like it\'s made of stone. The tower shield... Imagine a roman shield, made of wood-colored stone. And finally the rancor shield. My personal favorite. It\'s the head of the rancor, with the neck stretched to cover the shield. The texture looks like bleached white rancor. There\'s a ton of stretching on the back of the shield and around the neck. All the shields have a glowing thingamajigger applied to them, so your opponents could find you in the dark. A pity, I say. Stealth is very useful. And they\'re all angled downwards, at least on my system. If you find yourself in need of a shield, feel free to get it. - Jose

the chit-chat where it belongs: elsewhere. Both the models are quite simple. I could easily make them in two minutes. Do the skins save the model? Sadly, no. The skin is just as simple as the model. The handle of the sword looks like it was done in MS Paint, and the rest of both models look like they have had a simple grey texture thrown over them without any thought of shading to them. The only real saving point for this is the shiny shader, but that\'s sparkle can last only so long. All in all, not the best FF7 piece of work that I have seen. Not the worst, but it could really use some work... For the sword, I would suggest finding some references of the one that Zack uses in Crisis Core, since I believe that is the same thing... Zidane\'s Weapon Pack

They certainly match the game\'s signature style, and for remakes, that\'s almost as important as the quality of the model itself. Naturally, we have DirectX 9 these days, whereas the PlayStation had some half-assed pixel rendering technique. Because of this difference, the weapons here look less like balloons. The Butterfly Sword has much finer and more precise detailing on it, and also has a more \"realistic\" broadsword style of blade modelled on as opposed to those huge cleavers. Overall, I see how this may be perceived as inaccurate, since it makes the weapons less like the originals, but I doubt anyone can argue that the changes aren\'t welcome - it\'s somewhat comparable to the graphical differences between Morrowind and Oblivion. I can find no problems or errors with the weapons, nor glitches. That\'s hardly surprising. When you\'re remaking something not particularly complex, it\'s hard to go wrong, especially when you\'ve been making similar weapons of either original or borrowed design for at least the last two years. That\'s good news for us, because it sure sucks when mods don\'t work. Well, you know the score, and whether you care one bit about Final Fantasy or not, these swords are as swordlike as a sword can be, and make fine replacements for the dual-bladed lightsabers if you\'re among those who prefer bladed weapons over flourescent lightbulbs. the model pack. This is a small collection of three elven weapons, an elven knife, an elven sword which can be used as a single hilt or as a staff, and the hadhafang. The are not as impressive as other weapons out there but they are indeed nice. One thing that bothered me though is the hilt on the sword looks weird, seems like the lines on it are uneven which take a little from it. Overall it’s a nice skin pack and everything LotR related is fine in my book. Download these swords or the rage of the Valar shall befall you! Ayane Yamazaki

Devil May Cry Weapons Pack

mb_dmcpack.zip | 1.77 MB

pack. Behold as I tackle them all in the least amount of words possible: - Agni & Ruda: Fruity fraternal swords. Textures were decent, models were good, and I don\'t think they were too big - Alastor: Great model, superb textures, but looks too big. - Force Edge: Ditto - Rebellion: Ditto - Sparda: Awesome weapon, but I\'ma have to say Ditto once more. Notice a pattern? Yes, so did Averus. For the most part, the size was the biggest flaw. The second greatest flaw in a number of these weapons was that the .sab files were recycled carelessly, and that some of the sounds are not present, thus we end up with saber sounds for regular swords. A bit hasty, and overlooked, methinks. At a minimum, I would suggest tuning the sounds, and then this pack would be a lot more clean cut =_=. If you have modding skill or can deal with saber sounds, and demand this pack, SUBMIT BANDWIDTH NOW. Otherwise, hold off bandwidth until next version. - Averus Retruthan

\"Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII\" Weapons Pack

bcff7_weapons.zip | 1.28 MB

bad. Included in this pack are three of the BC:FF7 weapons - Rod, Katana, and Rekka (shuriken). Each weapon also has some fundamental effects on the player\'s abilities. The rod, as well as being held back-handed, has a very short range. To counter-balance this, it uses the staff saber style, and deals additional damage with knockback. I found this weapon a challenge to use with standard tactics, but once I adjusted, it was immensely well-balanced. The Murasame katana has a fast swing speed and long range. It can be used in all five saber styles (single, medium, strong, Desann, and Tavion). It also comes with an altered taunt. This one just felt somewhat overpowered, even though the normally overpowered Desann stance is weakened because the blade doesn\'t move as slowly as a standard blade would. Third up is the agility weapon, Rekka. When equipped, it increases the player\'s speed and changes the special attack. Since it\'s intended as a dual weapon, you won\'t get the full bonuses unless you equip two. I didn\'t enjoy using these very much at all, to be honest. From a technical aspect, the models look as good as they possibly can, considering what they\'re based on. It seems some artistic liberties have been taken to improve them aesthetically. No shader has been supplied, but a very valid reason has been provided for that in the readme, so it\'s excusable. In the way of improvements, my suggestions go as far as improving the overall detail. The models don\'t seem particularly high-poly, and for simple weapons such as these, I think they could be a bit closer to the limit. Other than that, the only thing missing is a shader, but that\'s not possible at this point in time, so I\'ll overlook it. Personally, I have more than enough swords, but if you want some extra FF7 gear, click away on that download button. If not, well, that\'s your prerogative. ~ Kouen

Zefex Saber Pack

zefexsaberpack.pk3 | 1.3 MB

the other sabers I've seen. The buttons are suppose to be easy to hit, not make you break your finger everytime you turn on and off your saber. So maybe making them a wee bit smaller would be a good idea. There are also 2 other sabers that are reskinned to be gold, which both look nice. Each saber comes with a story of how it came about, I believe, you can find this is the readme. These sabers look great in game and I don't have much else to say about these. They're very good so if you like them, go ahead and download them. I give them a 10/10 and a recommendation that you download them. ;) P.S. My first review. Hehe. :) -Linky o_o

Vortex Jedi Masters Saber Hilts

vjmsaber_hilt_pack.zip | 77.96 KB

pack. There are two single sabers and two saber staffs. To me it looks like the staffs are just mirrored versions of the single sabers with a couple of color differences. While this doesn’t look bad, but in one case for a staff saber it looks like one side isn’t totally aligned with the other. The geometry for the sabers looks pretty simple, which isn’t a bad thing. I was just expecting something a bit more…complex. Ah well. It doesn’t matter what I think, although it would be nice if these hilts had actual textures instead of using shaders to do most of the dirty work. ~Zach

Tidus Weapons Pack

Academy that much. These are very well done, and it looks as if a lot of detail has gone into them.Apparently, the Brotherhood sword is a water elemental sword, and as such, Inyri has tried to give it a watery effect with a shader, complete with bubble sounds! While the effect isn\'t all that great, it\'s due to the limitations within the game. Also, according to the readme, there are two different versions of the Brotherhood and the Lightning Steel swords, one for Multiplayer, and one for singleplayer. The sabers are not selectable in the Singleplayer saber menu, which would have been nice. But hey, cool swords. my favorite sword is Twilight Steel. This is definitely a must for Final Fantasy Ten lovers. ~Zach

Tai Chinese Weapons Pack

tai_chinese_weapons.zip | 861.65 KB

China\'s place as a cultural goldmine for weaponsmiths and warfare enthusiasts alike. Unfortunately, the articles in this pack don\'t quite meet the high standards of their ancient real-life counterparts. I guess I didn\'t expect them to, they are Q3 engine models after all. With that said, they\'re still good models for the swordsmen out there, not because they\'re particularly well-made or creative, but because they\'re different. However, I found a few small dislikes. Most of these are minor gripes about the skinning. First, the Tai Blade and Tai Naginata - these are bladed weapons. In game, they look like rods. This could be due to bad use of gradients when skinning, the model being too rounded, or it could just be the shader. Either way, it needs fixing. Secondly, the black grips on the weapons are almost completely textureless. The weapons, although they would feel textureless, would never look textureless. If the weapon was made of wood, mahogany would be used - never ebony - and you would clearly be able to see the patterning and finish. If the weapon grip was made of rubber, then there would clearly be some ribbing/wear in the rubber. Even if it\'s just a slight texturing effect, add something into the skin to add texturing. Also, I think you should try a wood effect for the grips - it looks way better, no matter what type of wooden texture you use. But, that\'s just my opinion. The texturing on the blades is also a little off. They look like pristine metal. These are weapons - they get wear and tear, and that, I think, should be reflected in the skin. Thirdly, the patterning on the Tai Ultraviolet - I\'m unsure what your references were, but a Chinese weapon would certainly not have Braille embedded into the blade. However, I\'ll let that slide on account of it actually looking quite cool. Finally, tag positioning. When making weapon models it\'s important to make sure the tags or positioned properly, otherwise you have clipping, player grabbing sword/saber blades, or even the player grabbing thin air. It ain\'t gonna make your sword not work, but it looks messy. Several of these weapons have dodgy tag positioning, which I\'d suggest fixing. While these models lose points on the aesthetic and technique aspects, they\'re still perfectly usable in game, and they\'re not bad at all - merely lacking in minor areas. So, if you\'re a weapon collector and want something a bit different, here\'s just the thing for you. ~ Kouen

Shaman King Weapons Pack 1

shamankingweaponspack1.zip | 2.48 MB

variations. Let's start with the simple one shall we? I can't really tell what this is... It's kind of like a small sword... A dagger if you may, and it's covered in a rather simple red texture. That's about it... It's clearly unfinished so I look forward to seeing what it's actually supposed to be in a future release. The second, actually complete part of the weapon pack are ''Small'' Spirit of (Ren?) Sword weapons. Neither are really that small, that is, until compared to the ''Normal'' sized one... Now these look like your generic swords, save for the skinning, which is an almost plain red texture for the hilt, and a slightly opaque blueish-grey blade. The second version of the same weapon includes just the hilt, with a lightsaber for the blade. And now the third and final subject in this here weapon pack is a Large Spirit of Ren Sword. It's usable as a staff, and again, no particularly outstanding skinning here, plain greens and greys are all you get. Personally when I played with it I felt like I was swinging around a huge, low-poly, piece of celery... But I'm sure that's not what this was meant to be... Ah yes, but I saved the largest thing for last... The ''big'' faults of this pack. Basically, the author goofed on disabling the saber blades on every one of his models... So now every sword you play with has a saber trail, goes right through walls, and makes saber sounds... As an added bonus when you use the Spirit of Sword with an energy blade, you have a huge ding-dong, er, saber, right between your legs. Not that this kind of thing amuses me the least bit... No way. >_> ~Metall Pingwin

Sabre and Cutlass Pack 1

sabcut1_if.zip | 3.58 MB

inspiration to make them came from the website of someone named Jody Samson, who I had never heard of before this file, but has many cool swords. I couldn\'t find the swords on the site like the ones in the back, but it is obvious that at least the inspiration came from there. The models are quite well done, not anything extremely complicated, but nice looking. The textures are also well done, reminding me that I can\'t make metal textures to save my life. The main thing that I thought kinda took the quality down a little was the very end of some of the handles. It looks as if there should be some sort of design there, but there isn\'t. However, since most people won\'t even see that much while playing, that really isn\'t an issue. To be honest, I can\'t think of any way to improve them without changing what they are, with the exception of the tips of the handles. The best part of it all is that this is apparently pack one of three, though there was no ETA on the other two packs. Give it a download. If you\'re like me, you\'ll enjoy it!

the monitor, for a Z-Saber has finally arrived into the community, along with friends =_,=. Now I have not been in the Megaman craze as of late, but I will say I recognize at least two of the weapons somewhat. The Z-Saber seemed a little stiff to me. Generally from what I\'ve seen, the Z-saber was like a lightsaber, but more flexible. However, after looking at a couple screenshots, the model seemed to match well enough. It would be wise to match saber blade color with these, because the author was smart enough to include a glowing trail. Well done =_,=. Along with these weapons are a more powerful saber known as the ZX Saber, a strange weapon known as Harpuia, and the familiar looking Leviathan. The leviathan had a similar counterpart in Megaman X7, hence why I recognized it =_>

much on some of the swords. On a few they're so bright it's almost like looking at the sun. What annoyed me about this pack was that some of the swords relied on shaders for the blade, so they weren't skinned at all which looks pretty bad. Overall, this would be a very good pack if the skins/shaders were worked on. ¬Elegos Thank you and Good night.

Morrowind Weapons

morrowindweapons.zip | 3.07 MB

know which guns he replaced or how to use the weapons in single-player. As I was testing these out, I kept a little notepad of model notes, and here\'s what I noticed. First of all, the claymore weapon is far too large. It is not in proportion with the player model at all - it\'s just too thick. Length-wise it might be okay, but right now the hilt is about as wide - or wide - than your model\'s forearm. The crescent weapon, while one of the nicer looking models in the pack, is bolted in such a way that it doesn\'t animate realistically. I would have rotated it so it was held more like a bat\'leth. I\'m not a Star Trek fan, but it\'s the only weapon I could think of that functions the same way as this one. The katana included is more on the lines of Sephiroth\'s Masamune sword - it\'s incredibly long, and almost entirely black. Several swords just had incorrect hand bolting, such as the ebony longsword, the mace, and the two \'lightsabers\'. Now why there would be lightsabers in Morrowind I just don\'t know... None of the weapons have particularly good skins. Each is more like a filter placed on top of a flat, shapeless texture. There is no shading anywhere, so the models look just that - flat. The skins themselves are also uncomplicated, often consisting of nothing but a color and a few lines of detail, if that. If this were my pack, I\'d seriously consider getting a tutor in the realm of skinning, because the best model is just not that great without a good skin, and I think most modellers would agree with me on that point. None of these weapons have appropriate shaders (apparently they all have a dynamic glow, but not all graphics cards can produce dynamic glow). I would have started with at least a specular shader for most of them, if not a chrome shader on a few. Overall a good start, but the skins really leave these weapons down in the trenches. Keep practicing, though, and ask for advice when you need it.
sword longsword shortsword katana doublekatana doubleshortsword doublesword doublelongsword greatsword dagger pole
The models themselves are simple, but not hideous. In fact, they aren't bad, it's just that the biggest drawback with this pack is the skinning. All the hilts for the swords look the same, and all the blades look the same. And then the blades don't really look like metal. They just look gray. Other than the skinning that was done, the biggest thing is where the blades themselves were places. Many of the double swords (and the pole) were in the single saber category, while they used the staff stances. I'm not sure if the author meant for this to happen, but for the sake of realism those swords should be in the staff category. But anyways, for some suggestions on subjects other than what category to put a sword in, I'd say work on the metal skinning techniques. But I can say one thing, you're better than me! The author did not include screenshots, so if you really want to check these out, then I suggest you download it. ~Zach P.S. If the author wishes to take screenshots and send them in I would be glad to attach them to the file. :)

Max Sabers

pleasing, for the most part. And they're simple, meaning none of those annoying spikes. Just a little embellishment here and there, I like the crystals on one of them. I like the basic design in all of them. But the models aside, this could use some work, as the author tried to modify these. He tried to limit these to having only two styles available. But I could use all of them in MP. And they were supposed to have higher damages. I couldn't detect any. So, improve on the basic effects editing. He also said something about the special sabers only available through the console, and I couldn't get to them. So I guess that the ones that are reviewed are the ones with the unedited properties. Meh. If you like this, download it. ~Zach

KOTF Clan Sabers

kotf_sabers_final.zip | 4.66 MB

if it was a clan with a two-letter acronym they could sport their whole clan tag at a time - one in each hand, or a dual with both letters. I guess KotF will need partners to do the same ;). The sabers themselves are nice-looking - different than normal hilts in that they are more of a white color than a metal shade, making them seem almost like they are made of ivory. However the blade is really a product of shaders - the skin underneath is not impressive. It is basically a cylindrical hilt, with decent shading, then right around it, which are textured in a random liquid metallic pattern which makes no attempt to follow any UV map set forth - it is just dropped on top indescrimininantly. The same goes for the top gold portion. So the case is here, as it is unfortunately many other places, a good shader covering up a sloppy texture. So in the future I would suggest taking as much time on the skin as on the model. Letting a shader cover up poor skinning work may be a short-term fix, but if you don\'t learn the art you won\'t go much farther with modelling. Trust me - it\'s a handy thing to pick up. ~Inyri

Final Fantasy X Weapon Pack

which can be found in other FF games too. The models used are very well done, however I felt they were a little too thick, compared to the originals, which were that bit more curved. It'll become apparent what I mean when you see the Nirvana. Also, I think a little more could have been done on the shader work, and texture work. They are very good as they are, but I was disappointed that the brotherhood wasn't as waterlike as in the game - oh and adding some extra shine to the golden bits of some of the weapons wouldn't hurt either. :) However, don't think that that means this isn't a good pack - I think its brilliant, being an Final Fantasy fan, especially the blitzball (which replaces the thermal detonator) and despite my qualms about the shader on the brotherhood (The one which emits bubbles) it is a very, very nice piece of work, in terms of its model accuracy. Another favourite was the sphere which replaces the trip mine, but how come it doesn't have a beam anymore Inyri? It's more like a proximity mine now lol :D My least favourite of the pack is probably Auron's Murasame (Katana sword), or possibly Tidus' Longsword. Both are good models, don't get me wrong, but the textures seem a little dull and with the longsword especially, too bright - the longsword was more maroony ingame and had a few more scratches. The gold etching on Auron's sword also kinda goes off the edge of the sword, it doesn't quite fit onto the bottom of the blade smugly. I know there's already a shine on it, but it needs to be more prominent in my opinion. The sounds are all pretty nice, nothing horrible, nothing spectacular, they all fit well and they all sound right :) Overall this is a fantastic pack, I know I sound like I'm being critical of it but trust me I'm not - I'm just a Final fantasy fiend and want everything perfect lol, which isn't always possible in JK3. As one of your first ventures into modelling Inyri, give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done - oh, and make a V2 with the weapons more curved :D Finally, be ready for a LOT of .pk3 files in your base if you want all the weapons, as each comes in it's seperate pk3. This has its upsides and downsides: You can choose individual weapons not to use, but if you want all of them your base folder gets clogged up (Something I don't like lol - but of course, it's all personal;) ) ~Szico VII~

Final Fantasy VII Weapon Pack

weapons, Aerith\'s Guard Stick, and a boomerang. A new version of the rod has also been added. { For a more detailed review of the Before Crisis weapons, check [file=68093]here[/file]. } So what\'s different about this pack? Well, a new hit effect is included (which looks more like a space phenomenon from a Star Trek episode than an effect caused by someone being struck). Several items are replaced with FFVII equivalents, with potions replacing medkits, ether replacing Force crystal, etc. I have to question the act of replacing the sentry drone with a cluster of materia. It just looks and feels completely wrong, and those bright glowing orbs are a liability in that they\'ll distract you an awful lot. Same goes for the Ultima Weapon - it\'s just too darn bright. Same with the hit effect, it\'s likely to stun you if you\'re in a dark area or have sensitive retina. This pack ain\'t for epileptics, that\'s for sure. Functionally, though, there\'s nothing to complain about. All the weapons work fine, as would be expected. The texturing job is for the most part just fine. All you really have to be wary of is the fact that they have altered parameters when compared to base weapons, so some weapons may give an unfair advantage whereas others will act as a severe handicap. ~ Kouen
