Dialogue Pack

because there is much in a game like this and then they just cut out parts they feel they don’t need. Later we find out about some of the stuff cut and flip out because in our minds it was just flipping awesome and we wonder why “this” scene or “that” scene was cut. We have another welcome matt to the modding world by the username Allronix, who is making her debut with FileFront and modding the first Knights of the Old Republic game. As you may have guessed it, it’s a mod that has new and restored dialogue since that was the topic of conversation in the first paragraph. ;) If you’re looking for some new altering and restored scenes that were cut from KOTOR, this mod will provide that. One scene she specifically points out is a scene where your PC will haul off Carth and smack him. For you Carth haters, I’m sure this will be an attractive option. There are some surprises, even for me because the author didn’t mention them in her readme and I don't have time to do a play-through just to make a full report, so you’ll have to find out what those surprises are on your own. Well, what are you waiting for? Download! :D Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. Bastila on Korriban

bastila_on_korriban.zip | 2.58 KB

of the Old Republic and was also a co-author of another hit mod, the Ultimate Saber Mod. This is one of T7nowhere’s first mods as he originally created it nearly four years ago on May 17, 2004. As many of you know, I currently have 134 Knights of the Old Republic videos on YouTube. There are some videos that show Bastila on Korriban and many people have asked how to get this mod. It wasn't just YouTube. I've also seen many people asking where this mod went over at Holowan Labs. I did tell some of the users over there at YouTube recently that I would ask T7nowhere if I could upload this to FileFront and he granted me permission to do so. Now everybody can get this mod again, especially those who did have it and lost it and could never get it again when PCGM was taken offline for good a year ago. What the author did in this case is write a script that changes the globals that will allow Bastila to leave the Ebon Hawk when you’re on Korriban. I did do a poll last month asking what order do you complete the complete the planets while searching for the Star Maps and many people do not do Korriban last. That means they complete the planet and have to leave Bastila on the Ebon Hawk. With this mod, you can take her with you. Bastila will still mention for the safety of the mission that she must remain on the Ebon Hawk, but when you put this script in the override folder, you can just ignore the dialogue completely now. :p With this mod installed, you can now see some cut content that was originally wrote the game allowing Bastila off the Ebon Hawk. BioWare left that content in the game files and now you get a chance to see what Bastila says in certain situations while exploring Korriban. They later came up that Bastila could possibly be recognized by some of the Sith on Korriban and cut it out. I did take in account that your party should look different when going into the Sith Academy, so when you see the screenshots of the situations while in the academy (not outside), Bastila and Carth will look different there would be some realism from my point of view. Also in the screenshots that I took; there will be spoilers of what to expect while on the planet. If you want it to be a surprise, don’t click on the thumbnails. If you need to see what cool things Bastila will say that may entice you to want to try this mod out, just look at the screenshots then. I choose to bring Carth with me as Bastila and Carth have some classic dialogue spoken between them and there will be times it will make you laugh. Some of the screenshots are grouped together to show that they are linked together. This mod is definitely something you want to at least try once, especially if you’re into restoration mods. Enjoy! :D Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. New BIK Movies Restoration

new_bik_movie.zip | 14.07 KB

piece? ;) The first Knights of the Old Republic game didn’t have nearly the amount of unused content left in the game like Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords did. What may surprise some of you is that the first Knights of the Old Republic has three Bink cut-scene videos in your movies folder that were unused in the game. Zbyl2 took matters into his own hands and wrote a couple of scripts and created a new module file to restore these movies into game play. The interest in this will vary because some people will hit the escape button to skip the movie and get right to the game. That’s expected from people who have played this game for years. Among this group of people who like to skip the movies there will be some who will have interest to install this mod just to see how it plays out like just about anybody has when this game was new to them. Then there are people who like to soak up every moment if possible who really will take an interest in this. The description of what you will get to see in these restored movies is talked about in the readme. Make sure you read the readme file to understand where certain files go because not all of them go into your override folder. Enjoy! :D Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future. -Shem

Taris Undercity and Gamorrean Stronghold Restoration

taris_undercity_and_gamorrean_stronghold_restoration.zip | 553.56 KB

released in June? If you are a big fan of restoration mods and were a big fan of Dan_Loto’s work on the mod I linked, good news is here. Dan_Loto restores the Gamorrean Stronghold on Taris in the original Knights of the Old Republic game which is located in the Taris Undercity. The author ran into information about this cut content and decided to take on the project to bring back what BioWare cut out. This mod again brings something new to do and will help bring Taris more to life for you, especially those who aren’t a big fans of the situation your player character is in. This is one of those mods that does not install in the override folder. Make sure you go over the readme file to know how to install it if you don’t already know when looking at the work. The author also has more information about what this restored content does in his readme file. Yes, I didn’t talk as much about it as I could to make you have to read it to make those who have a habit of neglecting to those to read it. :p Enjoy the restored content! :D Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. Bastila's Extra Dialog on Tatooine

bastila_extra_dialog.zip | 6.36 KB

stand her. Later you can be approached by a female Twi’lek named Malare who instantly recognizes Bastila and informs her about her mother and that she is sick and is on Tatooine. Bastila then goes to meet her in the local cantina at Anchorhead to find out that not only is her mother sick, but her father was killed by a Krayt Dragon. Helena wants her daughter to find her father’s holocron to remember him by. If this quest is triggered, a holocron can be found right next to the Star Map in the cave where the Krayt Dragon is. After destroying the Krayt Dragon, Bastila is able to retrieve the holocron and bring it back to her mother. Normally nothing triggers when you find it so you have to talk to Bastila manually if you want to talk about finding it. Space Alex brings us a mod that gives us alternate dialogue that is restored and the conversation is triggered as soon as your pick up the holocron. It’s a minor change or a minor restoration I should say and you will only get if you trigger this side quest. However, if you love restoration mods and you need a little change to help give you a new feel to the game, then go for it. Enjoy the restoration! :D Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future. -Shem

Taris Lower City Restoration

taris_lower_city_restoration.zip | 437.59 KB

with Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Sometimes we get a restored mod and I’m surprised by the fact this was an idea that was cut from the game. Anyhow, Dan_Loto is back to give you something all fun to play with if you really like restored content mods. This one focuses on the Lower City of Taris. After playing through that part, I must say I like most of the changes, but there were a few of them that I didn't agree with. Like how the Black Vulkars would attack your PC and Carth but leave the commoners alone, especially the ones in the apartments. The commoners would just stand there like nothing is happening and for some reason that didn't seem very realistic. What I did like is the swoop platform and the extra Hidden Beks on the streets, especially since they're close to their hideout. The commoners there were close to the Beks to be safe, unlike the apartments. That part was really good in my opinion. The subtle changes in Javyar's Canina were a few extra NPC's. Keep in mind that these are new module files so do not put these in your override folder as these files won’t work if you do. Please read the readme. I’ve seen many people in the past make this mistake because they didn’t read the readme or my review. It’s frustrating to see so many people who are impatient and when something goes wrong, they refuse to read up on it and decide to make their complaint in the comments and have to be told to read up on it. Well, hopefully most of you will recognize the file types and know where to put them. Enjoy! :D Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. Enhanced Restoration of the Shadowlands

enhanced_shadowlands_restoration.zip | 389.34 KB

thing as more and more mods continue to be posted on KotorFiles. Your friendly neighborhood team of Seamhainn and DarthJebus05 is back with another restoration in beta form for you to check out. This one focuses on the cut module that was going to be one of the shadowlands on Kashyyyk for the first Knights of the Old Republic game. This will give you a whole new area to explore. I’ll be honest; I haven’t really been up to speed until recently what was cut content for Knights of the Old Republic. I suppose I really never felt the need to look into it since I felt very satisfied with the storyline as it was. Now Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords was a different story for me. I did like the game, especially some of the features and some storyline options you were able to do that the first game didn’t give you the opportunity to do, but after defeating Darth Nihilus, I really didn’t like how the game ended after that. It wasn’t a horrible ending, but it really could have used some work. Anyway, back to this mod. You will notice that there is a blue female Twi’lek Jedi that looks like Mission Vao. There is also a Master Vos, who was originally a character from the Expanded Universe that George Lucas made a brief mention about in Revenge of the Sith. There is a light and dark side story you can do in this mod; half the fun it finding out how it plays out instead of me telling you about it, right? Make sure you read the readme about the mod and things the authors want you to watch out for. Well, if you are a fan of restored content, this mod is something to add to the collection. Restoration of the Black Vulkar Base

black_vulkar_restoration_next_version.zip | 265.2 KB

some people, but then again some people love new things and the idea of restoring content that was cut from the game really has great appeal to some. Restoring cut content to the Black Vulkar Base has already been done for the first Knights of the Old Republicgame, but sometimes when two authors make things, it would seem people think it’s a good idea to make it compatible with each other. According the author, DarthJebus05, there was demand for him to make this compatibility patch to work together with Seamhainn’s work; so here it is for those who need it. The Black Vulkar Base had a module cut out. I explored the cut module that is in your game incomplete one time and I could see why it was cut from the game. It really slowed down the pace of it. Many movie directors has cut content from their film for similar reasons in the past. Since this game is almost five years old now, it would seem that doing something new in it becomes fun. Make sure you read the readme about installation and other possible instructions to make it work properly. hunting license which is required to sell such an item on Tatooine. That is when your player character comes into play. You can either help her by buying the item from her, or you can leave her be, or you can steal it from her. So let’s assume you help her here. You buy the plate from her and she has enough money to leave Tatooine and go to a place where she can have a good life for her and her children. Usually after that you never hear from her again. Sekan brings you a mod that restores content that you can find Sharina Fizark on Dantooine as she has a new chance for a life for herself and her children. If you’re wondering if this has been restored before by the author, it has. This is just an update with a fix involved which is described in the readme file. That way the mod runs smoother. something new every day and this new thing I’m learned this time is from this game I know so well, but can learn a trick or two as I just found out. SithSpecter shows me once again that there is more to this game than I realized by making an interesting discovery. If you go back to the game, Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, there was Chadra you run into on Nar Shaddaa. Well, this model was an unused model by BioWare that was cut out of the first Knights of the Old Republic game and the author not only found the lost model, he restored it for you to use if you so desire. Now, keep in mind that this model has been restored mostly for modder’s sakes as they can make new mods using that model like adding new content or something like that. However, the author also took into consideration that some people may need something new to have fun with do so he created a disguise item for you to wear to play as the Chadra model. Details are located in the readme file. ;) Since it took this long to discover this model in the game, does it make you wonder if there are still things that have yet been discovered for the Knights of the Old Republic games? Only time will tell. In the meantime, enjoy the mod! :D Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. Sleheyron Demo

sleheyron_demo.zip | 2.38 MB

light of the news of us learning of SithRevan’s death as it was he who inspired restoration mods for the first Knights of the Old Republic game and I’m actually very happy to see this released because of the news being fresh as I believe in some ways it honors his memory. Well, since this is a demo mod that means it is unfinished and much work needs to be done. I do like this release also as it reminds us that this project isn’t dead besides the tribute to SithRevan. This mod is still being worked on. It will be neat to have an planet to explore with an extra Star Map to find in the first Knights of the Old Republic game. I’m very excited for this. The TSL Patcher will install this mod for you. Make sure after you double-click the Sleheyron Demo.exe file to select the game folder where you have installed your game at and not the override folder as the TSL Patcher looks for the dialogue.tlk file and if it doesn’t find that file, it won’t install. Restoration of the Black Vulkar Base

black_vulkar_restoration.zip | 1.66 MB

the game's modules or visited Holowan much, you probably know what this is and can skip the paragraph I'm currently writing. If not, here's a quick rundown: originally there was another section of the Vulkar base the PC had to visit in order to retrieve the passcard that allowed access to the garage level (presumably the other two methods of entering it found on the main level would have been cut). Down there the PC would have to retrieve the passcard by hacking through some enemies or doing a quick fetch-and-retrieve quest for a spice addict who had it (not incidentally, the item to retrieve for him was spice - also guarded by enemies to hack through.) Apart from that, there was also a lab tech to play Pazaak with (s/he had a male voice actor and a female body, so that was very amusing), and a lab tech the PC could play twenty questions before leaving along or killing for no apparent reason. This all sounds rather complete, doesn't it? Actually, it was. Literally the only thing left to change by the BioWare devs would've been the appearance used for the Pazaak player (though some might prefer him/her as-is :p). It turned out they thought the extra area made the Vulkar base sequence too long, and decided to cut the area so as to make it less tedious. Following that they turned the former elevator down to the level into an armory with some moderately valuable loot, and added the option to hack the base's computer or loot a passcard off one of the Vulkars in the level to access the garage. Graciously, however, they left the module (tar_m10ab) in the game's resources once shipped. It's actually surprising it wasn't released sooner given how relatively easy the restoration is; simply removing the placeables in the elevator and adding an area transition trigger would've been enough to make it accessible without cheats. (And if you wanted to make the level necessary to visit, removing the option to disable the turrets from one of the base's computers as well as the passcard from one of the Vulkars.) Anyways, after around 4 years of everyone being too lazy to make those tweaks DarthJebus05 and Seamhainn came around and made them. Apart from changing the gender of the pazaak player to match his/her voice, it's pretty much the same as it is in the game's resources (and with reason, it really was mostly complete). Huzzah for restored content! Oh, and one thing to remember: this mod changes the dialogue.tlk file, which makes it incompatible with mods that add new planets (and thus new galaxy map descriptions) such as RedHawke's ORD Mandell mod. Note: Please remember to give the author of the mod feedback, as the download count isn't particularly verbose. Written comments tend to be much more useful and encouraging. -Emperor Devon

Sharina Fizark Restoration

the woman looking to sell her husband's wraid plate to move off-world? Normally you give her 500 credits (or 700 if you're enough of a good two-shoes), she says thanks and is off. What BioWare originally intended was for her to go to Dantooine (seems reasonable, it's a nice enough world and not too far off from Tatooine) and be able to have a short conversation with the PC there. (If you've not gathered, this mod restores that conversation - or at least I hope you have. :p) It's nothing plot-critical and doesn't offer any LS/DS points, mind you, but it's a nice way for the player to see how their actions affect others. Hearing 'you've saved us for no reason at all O Noble and Saintly Jedi! isn't the same as seeing them... well, saved, for yourself. It's a nice wrap-up to the wraid quest, and new dialogue to read is always a plus. Note: Please remember to give the author of the mod feedback, as the download count isn't particularly verbose. K1 Lost Modules Pack

k1lostmodules.7z | 34.19 KB

production of games, content gets cut. Some of the cut content are modules. Darth InSidious decided to get those cut areas and restore them for us to explore. Now, I’m not too familiar with what has been cut from the game, so bear with me. One of the areas you can explore that was cut was a module that is from a Tatooine Temple. Now I would imagine that when the Rakatans were putting Star Maps across the galaxy that BioWare had this idea that they built a temple too. Well, as it was they decided to put the Star Map in a cave and have it guarded by a Krayt Dragon. Czerka had a depot that was cut from the game. The author believes it was possibly on Korriban. On Kashyyyk, an area of the Shadowlands was cut. I figure BioWare decided that only two areas for the Shadowlands is all they needed. This module has been added for you to explore and enjoy. Another Tatooine module has been added to check out that possibly was some sort of swoop track. Two areas that look like it was either used for testing or a cutscene has been added to check out. To access these modules, you must use the cheat console. Use the word warp to warp to them. An example would be if you wanted to go to the Czerka Office on Tatooine real quickly, you would type warp tat_m17ag. Using the warp code, type in: m19aa – Tatooine Temple m21aa – Czerka Depo m25ab – Kashyyyk Shadowland m45mg – Tatooine Swoop Track m47aa – Possible Cut Scene PLCaa – Testing Area While we’re on the subject, there is a cut module that I can think of ready to check out in your game already that you can do while you’re in the mood. tar_m10ab – A module that was cut when trying to get the Swoop Accelerator Make sure you read the readme for instructions on how to use the mod and how to install it. Enjoy the cut modules! :D Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future. -Shem
