Knights of the Old Republic
with the NPC\'s pictures from the game art. Not terribly original, but it does look a lot better than the standard portraits you get with the game! If you like the look of these, give them a go! It is nice and simple, but if you have been looking for new portraits then this could be the mod for you; be sure to check out the screenshots! Enjoy! -- jonathan7 Please leave the author praise and constructive criticism; which are often far more valuable than rating mods... modification for KOTOR :) Enjoy!
For those of you unfamiliar with the mod, Shem has replaced each party member's portrait with a close-up screenshot. The first version of the mod was released over a year ago. Well, Shem decided that he could do a better job, and is back with more. Once again, each party member's portrait is replaced with a close-up screenshot over a light-colored background. Even Trask gets a new portrait for his brief stint as a party member. Also included is an alternate portrait for HK-47, with the assassin droid we all know in love sporting a blaster rifle, as well as alternates for Jolee and Juhani, to go with two other mods Shem has released in the past (the first replaces Jolee with a Yoda-species, and the second replaces Juhani with a reskin of one of the player appearances). Not much else to say; if you like the look of the new portraits, give it a download. As for me, I think this version is even better than the first. Enjoy! :) NOTE: Please leave comments/feedback for the author, especially if you download and use this mod; usually it's the only reward modders receive for their efforts. ~JC
characters appear on the selection screen. Over this have been placed portraits of the characters in more expressive poses than those found in the default portraits. Personally I feel that the new portraits do not work with the KotOR menu system. Also, the portraits chosen oculd be more expressive in some cases, and the shadows behind the silhouettes could have done with more blurring, so that the circles weren\'t so clear. Overall, the portraits are well-executed and show a good deal of craftsmanship, and time spent on them, and some do manage to capture the essence of the character well - Carth, Bastila and Mission all spring to mind. making these games graphically better I just get so excited about it. Now with all of these cool new types of mods like portrait mods and complete revamps of the GUI in the game I will get to see just that mod often. Anyway though lets get into the review as this one is pretty cool. Well everyone I stand corrected, jcoolZombie, one of our newer members has done some thing that I thought I would never again see in a million years. He has created custom NPC portraits like the ones Shem came out with only a couple days ago. These new portraits are a little different though as they do not use colored backgrounds; instead they use a the Tatooine desert and sky to give off a certain two tone background. This mod also come equipped with a portrait for the \"Caucasian Mission Mod\" that RedHawke made, so all of you out there who have that mod need not worry about using these with it.:D So really though, jcoolZombie, this is a very cool and I personally think you did a great job on.;) So now everyone who just can\'t wait to get their hands on this little treasure... have at it... and as always... enjoy.:D Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. highly doubt you could pry me from the game when I am in rare form. Anyway though the one thing that I began to like about both games was the way you could customize your character and you know, get a portrait and what not. So needless to say I started to enjoy the game more after I saw it's benefits and it's way of being able to customize your entire game. I always did think the portraits in the game could use a bit of fine tuning just to make them look a bit more realistic. In any case though I will stop telling you my life's story and I will get on with this review.;) Okay now everyone find something to grab hold of and hold on to it tight because I have a tremendously cool new mod that our resident site manager, Shem, just sent me. So now that we all know that it is something really cool let me tell you what it is. This mod I don't any body has ever done or ever will do again, what it does is replaces ALL of the Knights of the Old Republic player and NPC portraits with custom made ones that Shem personally made. Most of all though in this mod you have to look at the detail and time Shem spent on these portraits; they just look amazing. So really Shem, I have to say that you did one heck of a job on these. They look awesome and I am without a doubt very impressed by these. Now for all of you people out there who just can't wait to get your hands on these babies... enjoy.:D Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it.
