Generally the bulk of the firearms have been made more inaccurate, making for more drawn out firefights and added importance to the deadly accurate sniper rifles (which should be used sparingly). This also adds importance to section support weapons and their ability to put down large amounts of covering fire while the riflemen close in to more effective ranges.:)

weapon carried by the British Light Infantry addon if you have it. The model and skin are not bad, but they could have been a whole lot better. It seems somewhat distorted on comparison to a real SA80, as you can see in the screenshots. The sounds, too, are not bad but could be improved. They sound a bit static and boring, not at all like a real SA80. A significant problem is that when I tried the addon, the muzzle flash was permanently on, you'll see proof in the screenshot of the soldier with the gun on his back. This may only be a problem with newer versions of the game; as the addon is quite old; it's possibly caused by Resistance. However, because most of us have new versions of the game I'll have to mark it down because of this. Even if this bug wasn't present, the addon wouldn't be particularly good. Don't bother downloading it.

Again soldiers have been included, one under each sides units list.

smoke-shell. The weapons work perfectly and there are no obvious bugs. The presentation is slightly off because the author has tried to squeeze the word "SIMSmokeGrenadeLauncher" in as the weapon name which clogs up the window at the top left and gives the impression that it has been crammed in. The author has included a massive readme describing the addon and its history but has neglected or forgotten to include installation instructions. Other than those two faults the addon works perfectly but it is hard to see a use for it other than in very specific circumstances, so unless you need it specifically for a mission do not bother with it.
felt that in real life a gun of this sort would damage some armoured vehicles and wanted players to have this ability in the game. The BIS model remains unchanged, justifiably so since it's a pretty good model of the real life version as you'll see in the screenshots. The only work that has been carried out is the addition of new, meatier sounds that are more satisfying than the standard set, and a tweak to the damage settings. You will now be able to take down an APC in relatively short order - fifteen or so seconds of fire should do it. Helicopters take a lot less if you can keep the gun trained on them. In one of my experiments a T80 took 200 or so rounds before exploding so it's doubtful you'd be able to kill one before it finds and blasts you. Installation instructions are present, clear and concise, with the author thankfully apologising for the bad English. A pretty short review for a small addon. It works perfectly as it should and it would be an ideal replacement for a standard M2 macine gun in any mission if you want things to be more realistic. You can now experience what only Rambo should - trying to take on an armoured vehicle with a machine gun.
