a better selection of Berghoff\'s nature pack trees # the wrp addition did resize all trees to be now just 50 to 150 % from the former height # you can leave out Berghoff\'s nature pack to get better performance # you can just use Berghoff\'s nature pack for BIS islands # bad point: little less varienty in textures on everon (grass and fields)

BAS Tonal Island

bas_isle_opforv1.rar | 115.11 MB

BAS JAM version V2. The quality of African Islands is truly amazing, with a lot of details, new objects, new sounds, awesome areas, immersion is total. BAS team paid a lot of attention too to keep a satisfying framerate on average computers, this is one of the best island ever made (if not the best). OPFOR units are also excellent, there is more than 170 (!) different soldiers unit classes, with 28 variants of vehicles (Bis rework or tweaking but also heavily modified vehicles), and once more they used a good balance between details and framerate. This is an excellent pack, the only thing we could criticize so far is weapon realism (compared to FDF mod), but other small bugs have been fixed in patch #1 and some stuff added in #2. Two patches are also out. Get them here: Patch 1 Patch 2

Wake Island

wake_island_v1.3.zip | 9.84 MB

Ocean, two thirds of the way from Hawaii to the Northern Marina islands. It was annexed in 1899 by the US for use as a cable station, and saw fisticuffs in World War II. It is currently used as a stopover and refuelling site for aircraft. The addon's layout is commendably true to that of the real island, the terrain is the same shape and the airstrip is in the correct location, as you'll see from the screenshots. Elevations, however, are different. Drawing much of its terrain, objects, and influence from the NAM series of addons, Wake Island is very similar to them in many respects. Due to its smaller size it will not place as great a burden on your system as the larger NAM islands and is perfect for smaller scale NAM missions as well as any Pacific Battles. The actual execution of the addon, however, is not quite up to scratch. The bridges connecting the two smaller islands to the larger island will ruin a car that tries to drive onto them unless it runs at a tiny speed because of the angle between the bridge and the slope. The roads terminate at the beginning of the slope from both sides down to the bridge. The roads themselves are particularly shoddy, as you'll see from the screenshots the tiles overlap and create alternating light and dark areas of road, and small areas of tile that stick out from the edges of the corners. On updating to V1.3 the Wake Island team said this:
There is an ugly thing about the island, Udie must have accidently overlapped the roads and we have NOT redone them, but i think you guys can live with that :)
Well, I'm sorry, but I think I speak for most of the OFP community when I say we can't and won't live with utterly ridiculous road textures because the addon's developers could not be bothered to correct them. These roads ruin the island and it is impossible to immerse yourself in the game when they are on the screen. They are hideous, and since the developers know they look ugly they should have fixed it. I cannot for the life of me come up with any reasons why they wouldn't other than a complete lack of effort. Not acceptable. The introduction mission to play in the background of the main OFP screen is noticable because of its absence. This is highly irritating and adds to the distinctly amateurish feel and makes me question whether this should really be called finished. There is one area I particularly like with a road running through and area of dense vegetation, perfect for ambushing. The island can look quite beautiful at times, so long as you're not looking at the roads, but overall it leaves an impression of being distinctly average, lacking that extra bit of effort and polish.

Will add Reflactions From ARMA

water_reflaction_and_clear_system_dx_11.zip | 463.17 KB

d3d8.dll into your windows system directory, doing so will break Direct3D from your system! Dxdll adds various effects to OFP, including postprocessing effects, reflective water and other enhancements. Postprocessing effects include hard light effect, desaturation effect and glare effect. For more information run the configu- rator. All postprocessing effects require a video card with at least pixel shader v1.1 support. Water reflections require environmental bumpmampping and render to texture support. Most effects and settings can also be changed with various in-game shortcuts, press the application key and 'H' while playing for more information. When changing settings in-game, they are not saved into the configuration so if you want to do permanent changes you need to edit the configuration. Note that due to the way the DLL works, it is likely that there are compatibility problems with some video cards. If you encounter problems, try these procedures: - Disable some effects from the DXDLL configuration - Make sure HW T&L is enabled from OFP Preferences - Make sure multitexturing is enabled from video options - Try increasing the texture size settings from OFP Preferences - Try changing to 16bit or 32bit color - Decrease the hardware acceleration setting from windows display properties - Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for you video card To uninstall dxdll, remove the d3d8.dll file from OFP directory.

looks like a functional harbour with crane and crates from AGS port pack (included) and a storage hanger. -Minor alterations to landscape including the \'coral reef\'. -The taxiway on \"Sand Island\" has now been put on the correct side linked to the base. -Names given to the two main islands of Midway; \"Sand Island\" and \"Eastern Island\". -Landing Autopilot should now work for the main south-north runway on Sand Island. -New intro scene for main flashpoint menu. Bugs still remaining: -Custom buildings like the houses, church and harbour \'fall over\' when knocked into with a tank (I binarized the addons and cannot fix this because I lost the origional due to a nasty virus which screwed windows up and could not retrieve it). -You can walk through certain walls in some bunkers (not a problem I can solve, not my addon).

that this is very much a Beta and is completely unfinished. No buildings have been added, the road network is uncomplete, the lower half of the island is very bare. The author wants to do a whole lot more work including adding grass and more detailed terrain, so it would not be fair to review this now. Do not download this yet unless you really want to preview what the final island will be like. I have to say though, from what I\'ve seen it\'s looking pretty good. Keep your eye on this one, and watch this space.

Gaia

gaia.rar | 23.38 MB

forests, towns, harbors, and airports. It has nicely rolling hills with forests not so dense as other OFP island. The towns look like American style suburbs with streets and houses on each side, and plenty of space around, so its not so crowded. There are many trees on this island, and most of the landscape is flat with hills from time to time. There are not many mountains here and there isn’t much grass either. There are a few nicely done farms which look great. It doesn’t lag either, I was getting a decent frame rate on the island. The size of the island is very big, about 4 times as bigger then Nogova. There are also more towns, and cities, and they are also bigger then towns on other islands such as Nogova. There are not many lakes inland, just a few at the edge of the map. There is a hidden airport in the middle of a huge forest, and a few others near cities. The airports are huge. There is also a harbor which looks great, and very useful for those naval missions. There are many custom addons in Gaia, so it adds something new. There are in the two pbo's that come with the pack, so no other downloads are necessary. The island is nicely done, and it even includes its own animation file. It seems to come with the WGA so, no the readme is not from a wrong file.
