This includes the famous Narwhal class sub, the fictional German "Germainia" Battleship, and several other ships including battleships, carriers, destroyers and merchants of all sizes. These additions can be found in British, US, German and Japanese forces. One of the things I like is that ships leave burning oil slicks when damaged. I'ev seen this most often in tankers and cruisers, and it lasts only a short time to simulate repairs. Airtraffic is also reduced, so the planes aren't as annoying, but they are better at killing you. Betty's will fly in to release torpedo, and zero's will shoot and bomb you. H6k and H8k can be equiped with a depth charge. Bugs. There are 2 things that the devs should consider fixing, and one of the biggest ones are the missing descriptions while on the upgrade screens. All the stats for the torpedo types and other equipment upgrades can be annoying at times and if you don't have your torpedo types memorized, you might not remember what types best suit your playing style. I also experienced a bug where my sub would not relaunch after returning to a home port. Minor bugs also include a whale ship which almost completely dissapears when hit. The good news is, this mod is being activley developed, so hopefully these problems will be short lived. All it all, this mod has the best of everything. It has alot of eyecandy and new units to sink and shoot up, but the AI isn't so bad that beginners can't enjoy it regardless of your realism setting. more and stronger sub hunter groups, and more single merchants and small convoys, and more harbor traffic. explosions of have been improved graphicly (yeehaw!), and so have some sounds. Japs have more Depth charges and even rockets late war, so watch out, or the Hun will get you. The much awaited whale chaser and a new whale steamer as well as other new units such as a freighter and IJN Akagai Carrier are also included. For those of you who run smaller screen resolutions, you can kiss those annoyingly huge gagues for speed, depth and heading goodbye. reliable "split in half" ship damage feature that exsists in stock, and changes tot he ships damage model that prevents torpedoes hitting the same area of the ship multiple times from casuing anything other than flodding in that area to become fast. This creates more uncertanty in the way a ship will sink and how fast and how many hits. Plus, the deck gun cannot be simply aimed at one spot on the ship and repeatedly fired. You must actualy damage the ship at or below the waterline in a manner that actualy causes flooding, and large merchants may required dozens of shells. Small arms fire wont damage things larger than small coastals like tugs, as was historicly correct. Additionaly, a new sub damage model has been added which allows your sub and crew to incur negative effects as the result of enemy fire as light as 20mm. This will make surface assults on armed merchants as small as fishing boats and challenging of aircraft to carry more risk than stock. Other features include clickable interiors, new uniforms, visual and sensor adjustments, a new AI, revised ship rosters and new weapon sounds for surface guns. Additionaly, repairs to systems seriously damaged (but not destroyed) which makes more sense, as some types of repairable damage was not nessecarily repairable at sea.

The mod gives you operations of the British navy in the North Atlantic, British Isles, North Sea, Bay of Biscay, and Norway, and there's a good chance you'll encounter atleast one of these during your time as a Uboat commander. RAF bases and airtraffic have been redone, and bases assigned historicly. Also Uboat start points such as Kiel are back, and you can also be deployed to forward bases in France and Norway. This mod comes in 4 parts, which also include an upgrade, patch and hotfix, and it's important you install them in the right order. Look in the requirements field of this page and install the packages in numerical order.

historical acuracy stuff. For starters, if you use the external cam, you'll notice that you can see your sub clearly when at periscope depth. This is the way it is in reality, and the planes can see you too. Depending on weather and the skill and distance of the aircraft, places may be able to see you at 100 feet of depth, or more. Bungo Pete is a particular destroyer who was rumored to have been a submariner before commanding a Destroyer. If you want to take him on, you'll be in shallow waters off the coast of China. This is an Expert Destroyer, so watch out. Evil planes are just that...evil. They are acurate and will kill you even under water if you are detectable. Plane contacts have been decreased from stock, but made more deadly. Some arament changes too, to reflect historical data. Additionaly there are a number of extra ships. This includes destroyer escorts, extra destroyer classes, other warships, cargoships, and Kiabokans, which you may remember if you ever played the NES Silent service. They are a small ASW ship. Be sure to install the hotfix for this mod.
Ai is a bit easier on the escorts and such, but it still gives you some of the features of the main TMO. Meaning the Destroyers will still be more agressive than stock. You'll also be able to use the free cam to see your sub underwater, and the planes will still see you too. But you get the sub marker and map markings to help you on the map. Some other features of TMO are extra units, such as Kibokans, planes which attack you while submerged, bungo pete, new merchants, and various evironmental mods.
crosshairs in the bino's and a few other things. additionaly there are modlets to be enabled where you make make the destroyers evil, have the torpedo failure rates historical, remove the submerged sub marker, and have standard optics. The mod comes with enhanced optics, which means your periscope now has a 3rd zoom, uzo is increased, and so is your deck gun scope. This enables the mod to be moe of a stepping stone to the full version of TMO, which has a harder AI and more historical items which make the game more challenging.
