Epic Skin Pack 1.0
here, most likely exactly what you would expect on an army who is not trying to look like a platoon of clowns. Not at all. What is surprising is that the author shows that he can use layers to some degree (the Fett reskins show that he used an effect texture on a second layer), but that he must have just ignored this on some of the other reskins (e.g. the engineer), because they've got what looks like magic-wand-selected areas (which are almost always insufficient). In the future, I'd recommend that the extra time is spent on [i]all[/i] the reskins so that not only do they look consistent with each other, but so that they don't look sloppy, as just using a magic-select will abet. In any case, pictures are below. Download if you like. -Mav
ARC Trooper Units Source files (BETA)

Despite the above quote by the author that assures that all the files necessary are present, there are still a number of mesh files missing (all the weapons' models and textures, not to mention the actual textures of the units), not to mention the fact that you will still have to have a mod map made to use these in. The faults of the previous file are no different here, with the exception of the awards weapons, which at least look to be fixed. In any case, download if you want, but honestly - you're better off building your own side. There's not a lot to learn from these files that couldn't be learned directly from the stock assets, and if you don't know how to build a side and just want a plug-and-build side, you'll have a hard time with this since it has its own errors. -Mav

Arc Captain Source Files
files are [i]included[/i] in the modtools assets. It looks like the cape might have been changed a little, since it does have a "modified" date. It's worth mentioning that if you plan to use this, you'll have to set up the .msh file correctly, since as it is, it won't read the body texture. Also, the cape won't show up if you try and munge it ingame, since the name of the cape's .odf was changed but it wasn't edited in the .msh. I can't really recommend this file, it doesn't have much work done to it and it needs more to even be useable. However, if you feel like picking up where the submitter left off, feel free to download. -Mav

these will have been seen before in mod maps, but most are new. It\'s always nice to see new models, provided people use them, since they help keep the game fresh. There are a number of helpful natural props that could fit onto any map as well as a number of themed objects. Droid skins
the effort made to do something that's not the clones. A couple points, though. First - the textures don't have their alpha texture added back in, and so this'll make them look too "shiny" in-game. Secondly, it looks like a regular paintbrush tool was used to draw on these, and that never looks as good as one might like. It looks much better if specific sections (with much more delineation on the edges) are selected and recolored. In any case, if you are looking for some basic battledroid skins and these strike your fancy, give them a try. -Mav

To the author: There are better ways of selecting areas than a magic wand tool (or whatever the intuitive selection tool in your graphical app is) - path your regions out and separate them into layers to make better selections. There are better ways of adding color than single hues paintbucketed in - at the very least, use some kind of overlay so that the underlying texture is preserved. Your detail is entirely lost when you make textures like this. -Mav

As far as add-on heroes go, this one\'s pretty well fleshed-out. As with the author\'s Grievous asset, this one is pre-munged, which means that you\'ll add it into your mod or map through the script file only. The instructions for doing so are included in the readme below. Go ahead and give it a download - this is a nice asset! -Mav

Jet Trooper Units
Well, enjoy using these and happy modding![/quote] This is basically a side mod without the minor work done of munging it. Incidentally, that means that the minor work done of bug-checking it hasn't been done either, and just looking it over really fast, there are a couple obvious errors in the .odfs - perhaps a little extra nugget of fun included for whoever downloads them? (Misspelling, award weapons, et.al.) The .req also contains about twenty unnecessary references which are not included in the .odf packet, and you will of course have to add in the meshes to whatever side you munge these with - unless you drop these directly into a stock REP side, in which case you'll end up with an incredibly bloated side addon. Since the units don't use default names, you'll also have to use these in a mod map - you can't just replace your stock REP side and hope to use these units. I'll never say "no" to a file that doesn't break the rules, but honestly, there's so very little effort put into this set of "assets" that I do have to shake my head a little. To the author - please make sure to put a little more time and effort into things you're uploading. -Mav
