1. Must own a legal copy of Battlefield 2142 and have it installed.

2. Must have v1.20 patch installed.

3. You do NOT use the customization screen or need to be connected to the Internet to use this mod.

4. Unzip FFOLKES_2142_Unlocks_v1.20c.zip to folder on your desktop. The zipped file contains the following:

- FFOLKES_Unlocks_v1.20c.exe (Contains the Unlocks_v1.20c mod only)
- Instructions.pdf
- Kit_Descriptions.pdf

5. Install FFOLKES_Unlocks_v1.20c.exe by double-clicking the executable file.

6. The install program will launch and copy the Unlocks_v1.20c mod to your Battlefield 2142 mods folder directory.

7. The install program will attempt to create a desktop shortcut pointing to the Unlocks_v1.20c mod. You may need to create or edit the shortcut in case the installer fails to read from the Registry the correct path to Battlefield 2142. The easiest way is to copy the default BF2142 desktop shortcut, rename the new shortcut, right click the shortcut, choose properties, and update the Target line.

Erinnert sich noch jemand an die Custom-Map Camp [= BMK =]? Das ist eine Trainings- bzw. Funmap von [= BMK =] Mexx für Battlefield 2. Da diese bei mir, bei meinem Clan und bei etlichen anderen sehr gut ankam, dachte ich mir ich mache eine ähnliche Map für Battlefield 2142!
Tja, und nun ist Sie fertig, und besitzt acht Areale:

Raceway - Der Name sagt doch schon alles oder?
Tanktrain - Mit bis zu 8 Panzern auf unwegsamen Gelände die sich gegenseitig die Hucke vollhauen können, ist eine heiße Schlacht garantiert!
Aimtrain - Dazu gedacht um die Treffsicherheit mit den Waffen und Granaten zu erhöhen, dazu stehen euch 32 Dummys zur Verfügung!
Air Flight - Hier kann man den Angriff auf die verschiedenen Fahrzeuge und das navigieren unter engen Bedingungen trainieren.
Trenches - Das ist wieder ein Areal zum Trainieren der Treffsicherheit, diesmal aber ohne Dummys! Hierzu werden menschliche Spieler benötigt, die sich auf einem abgesteckten Weg fortbewegen um den im Schützengraben verschanzten Schützen ein Ziel zu bieten (Hauptaspekt ist das Treffen sich bewegender Ziele)
Titan - Ein Titan der von Rundenbeginn an kein Schutzschild mehr hat, dient dazu die Verteidigung bzw. den Angriff zu trainieren.
Walkerbattle - Bis zu 4 Walker die sich zwischen vieler Hindernisse und Deckung bekriegen können.
Infanterie Areal - Ein kleines Areal das zum Trainieren von Squads und deren Taktik/Teamplay gedacht ist.

Diese sind in der "32er" Version enthalten! Da einige gerne mal mit/gegen Bots spielen habe ich auch noch eine SP-Version in der "16er" Größe erstellt, innerhalb dieser kann man sich im
Singleplayer oder Coop Modus auf dem Infanterie Areal kloppen!

Installation und Konfiguration
Wer selbst einen Blick auf die Arbeiten riskieren möchte kann sich die verlinkten Archive (zip) herunterladen und installieren. Dazu werden die darin enthaltenen Ordner (RedDawn, ZombiesAlsacoEdition) ins Modverzeichnis von Battlefield 2142 entpackt. Die beiden Mods können dann im Spiel über die Funktion Community -> Eigene Spiele gestartet werden. Unterstützung für den Singleplayer ist vorhanden, allerdings gibt es hier einen Punkt zu beachten: der Sofortstart über den Singleplayer funktioniert zumindest bei der Zombiemod nicht(!). Gestartet wird das Spiel über das Multiplayer-Menü indem Spieler lokal einen Server erstellen und in der Auswahl des Spielmodus Conquest Coop auswählen.

Abschließende Hinweise
Vor der Installation möchten wir abschließend noch einen Hinweise von Entwickler Rest'n'Pit weitergeben, mit dem wir im Vorfeld kurz gesprochen haben. Wer sich die Installationsaleitung durchliest wird bereits bemerkt haben, dass in beiden Mods noch der eine oder andere Bug steckt. Im Spiel stimmt das eine oder andere Hud nicht und auch die Steuerung muckt an manchen Stellen herum. Beide Arbeiten sind deshalb ausdrücklich als Testversionen gekennzeichnet. Erstellt wurden sie vom Team aus Spaß an der Freude am Modding und richten sich deshalb an Spieler, die über solche Fehler hinwegsehen können. Feedback und Hilfe bei der weiteren Umsetzung der Projekte nimmt das RoH-Team in seinem Forum entgehen.

NOTES:

1. This mod will not affect your BF2142 mod, any other installed mod, or on-line gaming since it is installed to its own folder.

2. This mod allows you to play the default BF2142 Single-Player/Co-op maps and any custom BF2142 map with all the unlocked weapons, tools, upgrades, and abilities.

3. To install a custom BF2142 map just download, extract, and copy the custom map folder into the ?\mods\Unlocks_v1.20a\Levels folder.

4. In game use your mouse wheel scroll or keys 1-9 to select/deploy a weapon or tool. To select the Beacon you must use your ?cycle weapon? key (Default is key F) since DICE did not code key indexes greater than 9.

You must be a squad leader in order to use the squad leader unlocks such as the Beacon, Sentry drone, or Recon drone.

5. If you want to increase or decrease the number of bots in your Single-Player game
just edit the aidefault.ai file found in the AI folder of the Unlocks_v1.20a mod.
For example, if you want to play with 64 bots with expert level then make the
following changes.

Change sv.maxPlayers 16

to

sv.maxPlayers 32 (or higher)

Save and make the file read-only. In the co-op options it will still show 16 players
but in game there will be 32 (or higher depending upon what you set)

7. The un-install program does work and will remove the Unlocks_v1.20a mod files from your computer. However, if you copied any custom maps or files to the Unlocks_v1.20a mod folder you will have to manually delete the Unlocks_v1.20a mod folder after running the un-install program. You may also need to manually delete the shortcut on your desktop. Make sure you post comments/feedback on the BF2142 forums and let all your friends know about

Features für Einzelkämpfer
Im großen und ganzen wurden alle Features aus der Vorgängerversion übernommen, an einigen Stellen sogar verbessert und erweitert. So trifft das Einzelspielerclientel auf nahezu alle BF2142 Maps und Mapgrößen, die von EA/DICE sträflich ohne Bots belassen wurden, inklusive dem Northern Strike Booster Pack. Wem das Standardrepertoir an Karten nicht reicht, wird ebenfalls nicht enttäuscht. Die Anzahl der botsupported Custom-Maps wurde von drei auf sieben erhöht. Ebenso dabei sind wieder sämtliche Unlocks aller Klassen, so dass auch rankingfaule Spieler in den Genuss des Extraspielzeuges kommen. Ein weiteres Feature ist die Möglichkeit das BAUR Sturmgewehr der EU durch das BOFORS Sturmgewehr zu ersetzen. Näheres dazu später. Die Bluteffekte, die neuen Menü, neue Hintegrundmusik und der verbesserte Sound von 8 MHz auf 22 MHz aus der Version 1.2, sind ebenfalls mit dabei.

Singleplayer-Modlauncher inklusive
Eine gute und vorallem nützliche Idee, zeigt sich nach dem Betätigen des Desktop-Shortcuts der NX-Offline Modifikation. Bevor das eigentliche Battlefield 2142 startet, erscheint auf eurem Bildschirm ein kleiner aber feiner Modlauncher. In diesem Tool, könnt ihr nun vorab die wichtigsten Parameter für das Singleplayer/Coop Spiel einstellen. Neben der Anzahl der Bots, lässt sich per Schieberegler auch die KI-Stärke bequem einstellen. So erspart ihr euch den Umweg über das manuelle Eingeben in der AIDefault.ai Datei per Texteditor. Um danach gleich mit dem Spielen loszulegen, reicht ein einfacher Knopfdruck auf den Button "Go Go Go". Anbei ein Bild des nützlichen Launchers.

Bofors statt Baur, Baur statt SCAR-11
Im Absatz mit den Features, hatten wir diese Option mal kurz erwähnt. Was ist das Bofors Sturmgwehr eigentlich? Naja, dabei handelt es sich um ein Waffe, welche nur diejenigen erhalten haben, die Battlefield 2142 vor dem eigentlichen Release vorbestellt hatten. Sie trat bei den EU-Sturmstruppen an die Stelle der SCAR-11. In der Community munkelte man dass diese Pre-Release Dreingabe sich nicht nur vom Aussehen her von der SCAR-11 abhob. In NX-Offline stehen nun verschiedene Kitsysteme zur Auswahl, die mit wenigen Handgriffen per Texteditor geändert werden können. Dazu stehen euch insgesamt vier ServerArchives Dateien zur Verfügung.

Zu finden sind alle vier ServerArchives Files im NX-Offline Modordner. Der einfachste Weg zur Installation des jeweiligen Kitsystems geht über den Texteditor. Öffnet dazu die ServerArchives Datei eurer Wahl und kopiert den gesamten Textinhalt. Anschließend öffnet ihr die ServerArchives.con und überschreibt den vorhandenen Text mit der ebend kopierten Passage vollständig. Nun speichert ihr die ServerArchives.con Datei ab. Ihr habt jetzt das Assault-Kit eurer Wahl und könnt die Pre-Release Bofors auf Herz und Nieren in der NX-Offline Mod gegen Bots testen. Am Rande sei aber noch zu erwähnen, dass es mit der Bofors Variante eventuell zu Problemen in Sachen Modstabilität kommen kann. Bei unseren Tests war das aber nicht der Fall.

Alle Einzelspielerschlachtfelder im Überblick
Was Neni (X) mit der NX-Offline Mod für Battlefield 2142 zusammengeschustert hat, sucht in Sachen Mapsupport für den Einzelspielerbereich seines gleichen. Die Karten des Basisspiels wurden bis auf Camp Gibraltar in allen Mapgrößen mit Bots versorgt. Hinzu kommen noch drei 48-er Layouts für Belgrade, Tunis Harbor und Verdun. Auch der Botsupport für das BF2142 Booster Pack "Northern Strike" lässt keine Wünsche offen. Erstmals dürfen sich Spieler bei Bridge of Remagen über die Brücke an das andere Flussufer metzeln und das im Kampf gegen die Bots. Dem nicht genug finden sich in NX-Offline 1.3 noch insgesamt sieben Custom Maps aus der Community wieder. Diese Runden das reichhaltige Angebot an Schlachtfeldern für Battlefield 2142 vollends ab. Wir haben für euch mal alle SP/Coop unterstützten Maps in einer kleinen Liste zusammengestellt. Am Ende jedes Mapnamen seht ihr zudem die Mapgrößen, die mit Bots gespielt werden können.

The Hunted

Nur zwei Spielmodi waren dem Modder Mach 10 einfach zu wenig, deswegen hat er sich entschlossen selber einen zusätzlichen zu entwerfen. Der Spielmodus nennt sich "The Hunted" und folgt so ab: Gespielt wir ganz normal Conquest, aber man muss innerhalb von 60 Sekunden nach Rundenbeginn einen Commander haben, sonst verliert das eigene Team. Nachdem jedes Team einen Commander hat, muss es diesen, zusätzlich zum Flaggeneinnehmen, schützen und versuchen den gegnerischen Commander zu töten. Für das beschützen des Commanders bekommt man 2 Punkte, aber auch nur, wenn man sich innerhalb eines Radius von 5 Metern um den Commander befindet. Für das Töten des gegnerischen Commanders, dass heißt, wenn man ihn nicht mehr wiederbeleben kann (Defibrilator), bekommt das eigene Team 10 Punkte gutgeschrieben und gewinnt die Runde. Das Team, welches ihren Commander im Stich gelassen hat und ihn somit dem Feind überließ, wird mit einem Abzug von 15 Punkten bestraft.

Clan Mod 3.02 - Client Full

Today we have released a new client side addon for you to try out! It is called the Clan Mod Protocol and it allows you to join servers simply by typing their IP and port into your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera ...). You can also send a direct link to your server to friends and foes! Together with this new protocol, a new desktop shortcut is included. It's more advanced than the previous one, which you can now delete as it won't work anymore.

How to get the CM Protocol to work:
1. Download and install from the right side of this page.
2. Visit clanmod://config. Follow the instructions.
3. You're done! Either enter a server manually ( clanmod://IP:PORT/ ) or click Play Now on a server in the Clan Mod server list

We're also releasing the full, non-incremental version 3.02 of Clan Mod for client and windows server today. The client version includes the CM protocol and the new desktop shortcut. A linux server version will be available within a few days. Note that if you already have 3.02 installed, there's no reason to download these files.

Big thanks to all the CM Protocol testers! Thanks to you it's now properly tested on Windows XP and Vista.

Installation und Konfiguration
Wer selbst einen Blick auf die Arbeiten riskieren möchte kann sich die verlinkten Archive (zip) herunterladen und installieren. Dazu werden die darin enthaltenen Ordner (RedDawn, ZombiesAlsacoEdition) ins Modverzeichnis von Battlefield 2142 entpackt. Die beiden Mods können dann im Spiel über die Funktion Community -> Eigene Spiele gestartet werden. Unterstützung für den Singleplayer ist vorhanden, allerdings gibt es hier einen Punkt zu beachten: der Sofortstart über den Singleplayer funktioniert zumindest bei der Zombiemod nicht(!). Gestartet wird das Spiel über das Multiplayer-Menü indem Spieler lokal einen Server erstellen und in der Auswahl des Spielmodus Conquest Coop auswählen.

Abschließende Hinweise
Vor der Installation möchten wir abschließend noch einen Hinweise von Entwickler Rest'n'Pit weitergeben, mit dem wir im Vorfeld kurz gesprochen haben. Wer sich die Installationsaleitung durchliest wird bereits bemerkt haben, dass in beiden Mods noch der eine oder andere Bug steckt. Im Spiel stimmt das eine oder andere Hud nicht und auch die Steuerung muckt an manchen Stellen herum. Beide Arbeiten sind deshalb ausdrücklich als Testversionen gekennzeichnet. Erstellt wurden sie vom Team aus Spaß an der Freude am Modding und richten sich deshalb an Spieler, die über solche Fehler hinwegsehen können. Feedback und Hilfe bei der weiteren Umsetzung der Projekte nimmt das RoH-Team in seinem Forum entgehen.
