Dying Light is an action survival horror game presented in first-person perspective. The game is set in a vast and dangerous open world. During the day, you roam an urban environment devastated by a mysterious epidemic, scavenging for supplies and crafting weapons to help you defeat the hordes of mindless, flesh-hungry enemies the plague has created. At night, hunter becomes prey as the infected grow in strength and aggression - but even more lethal are the nocturnal, inhuman predators that leave their hives to feed. You will need to make use of all your skills and any available means to survive till dawn. Dying Light comes to PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC in February 2015.
It makes you wonder what consequences the world where neighbors kill neighbors and relatives kill relatives would have on human mind. How long could you justify what you do? How strong is the instinct of self-preservation? Is there still a place for kindness in such a cruel world?
In the first-ever trailer for the recently-announced title from WBIE and Techland, players will get a glimpse of what it takes to stay alive. As day turns to night, survivors race to a cache of supplies, but the pulse-pounding free run is only half the battle. Staying alive through the night, when the infected become even more deadly, is the real challenge. So run, boy, run, as Dying Light wishes you Good Night, Good Luck.
At night, it is you who is at a disadvantage. Without daylight, the senses of the infected become more acute while their thirst for human flesh skyrockets. They run, jump, and climb, so there is really no place where you are safe anymore.
This allows them to not only create realistic lighting and shadows in the game world but more importantly make the game world more authentic and immersive.
During the day, players traverse an expansive urban environment that has been overrun by a vicious outbreak, and must scavenge the world for supplies and craft weapons in order to defend themselves from the growing infected population. If players find themselves overwhelmed by infected, they'll have to choose between fight or flight. Thankfully they;ll be able to run seamlessly around the world‹from the rooftops to the ground, and everywhere in between‹with the game's free-running movement. Every choice in Dying Light has different consequences. What will you do?
