Europa Barbarorum is a total conversion modification (mod), though it covers roughly the same time period as the Imperial Campaign included with Rome: Total War.

This mod includes 3 campaigns: 355 AD - Julianus is Caesar in Gaul charged with defending it against the Franks and Germans, while Constantius II takes on the Quadi and then the Sassanids. There is suspicion and mistrust between them. There will be civil war. 361 AD - Julianus is now Emperor and getting ready to invade the Sassanid Empire. But all is not in the Empire. The Franks and Germans may have been defeated, but they are not subdued and religious division is growing, plus rebellion from those within the Empire. 365 AD - Julianus now lies dead in the sands of the East. Jovianus has come and gone and now the Empire sees it ruled by two brothers, Valentinian I in the West and Valens in the East. But there is a challenge to the throne from Procopius, a cousin of the dead Julianus.

There are not many major changes in this version compared to EB1.1. Likewise, there are no new units. Nevertheless, we will not stop supporting EB1, and there will in all likelihood be some other goodies in the near future too.
Rather, the scope of this version focuses primarily on bugfixes, among them the total redesign of the Client Ruler system. We also have a new punic voicemod, a new Epeiros intro by Stupac, and the previously released historical battles are also part of this release.
This mode adds lots of offices for all factions except barbarians. But you need EB first and this submod can work on any RTW game engine (BI/Alex/ROME.exe).
