The game is set in a 1:1 timeline with the BattleTech universe, meaning that the current year 2014 equates to 3051 in BattleTech lore and each day that passes in real life also passes in the game. This means we are on the brink of the upcoming Clan invasion and utilizing the latest in technology available in the 3049 timeframe.
The coming UI 2.0 update will set the stage for how fans will play the metagame and interact with their teams and environments. All of this has lead to the next big update for the game - the update every fan has been waiting for: Clan Invasions. More details regarding the exact specifics of the Clan warfare will come, but for now, fans are able to nab their favorite Clan Mechs ahead of time in this limited edition offer.
The high crags in the center of the map (conquest point Theta) form a highly defensible natural fortress. Long sightlines and ample hiding spots make the canyon tops a sniper's playground - use caution if you stray up top, and be ready to dive for cover.
"Blackjack" is scheduled to be released in our May 21, 2013 patch.
This 85 ton Assault Mech packs quite a punch with a diverse set of hardpoints; the single ballistic, missile and AMS hardpoints augment 5 energy hardpoints for an Alpha Strike that will surely have your enemies wishing they were on your team. With a 30% C-Bill bonus, Misery will keep you company.
MechWarrior Online has seen SIX MAJOR content updates since Open Beta launch last winter (the last one hit just this past Tuesday), and now is a better time than ever for your audience to jump back in – Testing Grounds, Paints and Patterns, sweet Cockpit Items and more mods than I can manage to find PR words for. Thanks, and happy pew-pewing!
The pattern on the Mech is emblazoned with the noble Cameron Star of the Star League and is the perfect 'Mech to customize as a sniper or upclose brawler.
From stealth scouting to long range support and right down to all out brawling, players will find areas in River City that suit their needs. The river itself, spanned by two bridges, divides the city into two opposing sides. A fortified citadel dominates the centre of the city and players will fight for control of two key sites: a space port high on a plateau and a crucial industrial port facility on the ocean shoreline. Surrounding the city are hillsides that are still in conflict and the odd airstrike and artillery barrage can still be seen off in the distance. Pools of fire and rubble throughout the city drive home the point that the pristine condition of the city is now just a remnant memory of the past.
The Hunchback 4G is a close-range brawler, with thick armour and excellent weaponry. Capable of dealing as much damage as it can take, the Hunchback is hard to put down, and hard to defend against. Extremely capable in any urban environment, look for this \'Mech at the vanguard of attacks; the AC/20 alone is cause for pause, but adding two medium lasers and a small laser just add to the close-in killing power.
MechWarrior Online Devs David Bradley, Omid Kiarostami and Paul Inouye discuss game controls, movement and strategy.
If there was ever a Mech that inspired terror in those that faced it, it was the Atlas. Weighing in at 100 tons, boasting a small Mechs weight in armour, and having two small Mechs worth of weaponry, the Atlas is truly an awe inspiring sight. The unyielding, deliberate movements, and Deaths-Head skull all make the Atlas a truly imposing Mech to face.
Quick, agile, and with an impressive weapons loadout of four medium lasers and a short range missile 4, the Jenner can make quick work of larger opponents. The jumpjets merely add to the flexibility of this \'Mech.
I mean, the video is hot, but the Caustic Valley (aka CMO 26) is a mineral rich, hazy and brutally hot valley environment that will affect how your mech disperses heat, drastically affecting your gameplay and strategy – especially those with heavier, hotter mechs.
