Finally — THIS is the Mass Effect 3 Trailer in Its Full Glory (VIDEO)

First there was a teaser. Then there was a trailer. Now we have an extended trailer.

That’s right, it’s finally here — the full three-minute Mass Effect 3 “Take Back the Earth” trailer, in which Shepard and his Alliance buddies arrive waaaay too late to prevent most everyone on the planet from getting either flash-fried by Reaper weapons or turned into cyborg zombies. Looks like you’ll mostly be taking back a steaming hunk of rotted planet. Not to be too cynical.

Actually, all jokes aside, the trailer does look pretty bad-ass. Although I’m still dubious about how the omni-tool, which was always just a holographic computer interface, is now somehow a laser sword. That said, Shepard still uses it to great effect by repurposing a few husk faces.

it’s not a laser sword, lore says it’s basically a haptic device which simulates pressure and can be used as a physical weapon.

I just don’t understand why they didn’t implement it sooner or how nobody uses it as a weapon :I

Maybe the alliance military didn’t give it to Shepard because Shepard was working for Cerberus, or The Illusive Man found no need to give it to Shepard.

Or.. It wasn’t that important of an upgrade until Cmdr. Shepard was placed under arrest.

*I almost screwed up here and forgot about Shepard being gender anonymous.*

@lol @StygSec

Or maybe they didn’t give it to Shepard because BioWare only just thought of it and decided it would be cool to work a laser sword into their sci-fi game.

Sorry, I know they “Scienced” an explanation for how a hologram “simulates pressure”, but I still think it’s kinda dumb.
