Halo Composer Suing Bungie After Firing

Halo composer Mart O’Donnell is suing Bungie after his firing in April.

The lawsuit is aimed at retrieving funds O’Donnell claims that he’s owed for unpaid vacation time, paid time off and other benefits with monetary value. According to a copy of the lawsuit, O’Donnell is seeking double damages in the lawsuit, which was originally filed on May 1st.

O’Donnell further claims that he was fired “without cause.” If that’s true it would be an arguably unusual layoff, especially when you consider his substantial role in composing the music for the Halo series. Perhaps most notably, O’Donnell is responsible for the creation of the iconic Halo theme.

Bungie has responded to O’Donnell’s lawsuit by denying all allegations.

Well good, then 343 Studios can pick him up for the rest of the Reclaimer Trilogy. I like the music in Halo 4, it just lacks the majesty O’Donnell can bring.
